Bob is awesome. He counseled me through an IRS CP 2000 notice that I worked on very hard and as a result of his advice I owed the IRS NOTHING, as it should have been. Zero, zilch, squat!
It was so nice to get that closing letter from the IRS that said the matter is closed, you were right, we are weasels and we can't bilk EXTRA self employment tax from you that you don't owe. I am paraphrasing of course.....
Call Bob if you need some help, hes a great guy and really knows his stuff! -

Loved working with Bob, no complaints at all. I was trying to figure out a property loan situation that had lots of ins and outs, and I was impressed with Bob's level of knowledge on a wide variety of tax and property topics.
He's very friendly, returns calls promptly, and is willing to walk through issues with you to determine the best course of action. He even followed up with me a few times after completing his work to make sure all had gone according to plan. I'll absolutely be using him again should any other tax conundrums arise. -

Mr. Sommers was exemplary in the handling of a complicated trust matter involving my Mothers Trust in the U. S. and my siblings located in The Netherlands and Australia.

In my mind, this tax attorney, Robert Sommers walks on water. I had the opportunity to work with him during the most stressful event in my professional career. As a small business owner, I went through a complicated corporate audit. Bob Sommers must be the best tax attorney in San Francisco! When I asked for recommendations, his name came up several times. I have used him, and refered both my parents and my grandmother. Bob gives great advice, is very personable and most importantly- reassuring. Even the Wall Street Journal calls him for comment! Call Bob for any tax, trust or estate needs.

I found out I was being audited by the IRS just a couple of months before my wedding. I was also working 80 hours a week. I was also being audited for a failed business venture where I went to Mexico to write a book, and instead got West Nile virus, was airlifted out of the country, and spent two months in the hospital and at my parents' house, recovering. So this audit was horribly timed for me and brought up horrible memories. Plus, I was worried it could cost me tens of thousands of dollars if they chose to attack all my returns over the past 3 years.
But Bob Sommers completely took care of everything for me. He explained the types of proof I would need. When I explained that I didn't have some of it, since much of my paperwork was abandoned in Mexico when I was sick, he explained the other options for providing proof. He came up with plans to deal with the IRS that left me free to focus on work rather than on the audit, and sharply limited the scope of the audit. I ended up paying a tiny fraction of what I had thought I might have to pay. I couldn't be happier, and I recommend Bob as highly as I can. Thank you, Bob! -

Bob Sommers saved me from a huge IRS tax problem a number of years ago. With his help, a $100,000+ claim was entirely erased. I am consulting with him again on a new tax issue and am confident he will pull another rabbit out of the hat. He really knows his stuff.

I hired Robert Sommers to get me out of a tax jam with the IRS. He did exactly that, and he did so in a manner that helped put my worries at ease. I have recommended him since then, and I will continue to do so. He has an excellent rep among other prominent tax attorneys, and anyone who works with him can see why. There is nobody better.
