I created a yelp account specifically to rant about this place.
The billing is out of control. You are billed for your visit right off the bat, then you are billed for any 'additional,' unrequested services (i.e., you'll suddenly have more problems that you didn't even ask about and suddenly you're getting billed $50-80 plus per shot that his staff is injecting you with for no real reason). I went into this place to get my asthma treated and suddenly I was given shots that I DID NOT request. You will end up with RIDICULOUS CHARGES. DO NOT BOTHER GOING HERE. I am one of the more optimistic people that reads Yelp and went there due to the last "positive" review. I should have listened to the other reviews...don't waste your money!!!
By the way, I do have insurance. Even with my insurance, the shots I'm paying for exceeded $50. There should be a class action lawsuit against this place.
I have been a paitient of Dr. Deitz for 12 years and hes amazing.
I suffer from Asthma and Allergies and hes pretty much
kept them under control this long.
My husband is also a paitient and hes very happy with Dr. Deitz.
Dr Deitz still believes in sitting you in his office after hes done with his examination and he goes over all the meds and is very clear on when and how to take them.
I have never had a problem with billing and or ins problems.
I highly recommend Dr. Deitz
Electroencephalographically challenged if not actually dead, Dr. Deitz, his support staff and office are worn out, uninterested and disorganized.
Dr. Deitz appears to be a man of great accomplishment. An MD and PH.D., a former army officer, his walls are covered with an impressive array of certificates and awards. I am very willing to believe that at one point he was a fine physician who provided good care to his patients. Sadly, that time is passed.
Dr. Deitz's solo practice (don't be fooled by the grand name) suffers from both clinical and administrative problems that lead to substandard patient care. Here's a list of problems I encountered while a patient of Dr.Deitz:
Clinical Problems:
- My diagnosis found wrong, separately, by both an allergist and a pulmonologist
- Two separate allergists who I showed my notes and prescriptions to found the course of treatment "remarkably non-aggressive" and the allergy shots as "weak."
- Questions to Dr. Deitz are often answered is a cursory style, and twice in a row he deferred answering to a next meeting
Operational Problems:
- Twice (possibly three times) my request to begin allergy shots was lost or not properly recorded
- Twice (possibly more) I was charged for services not provided
- Pulmonary function testing equipment is clearly far older and less sophisticated then that used at Kaiser (or I'd assume any modern and well equipped office) and the technician far less well trained. If I had to guess, I'd say the equipment is 2-3 generations behind.
I debated whether to give one or two stars. I don't believe the clinic is guilty of malpractice or gross incompetence, so I'm going with two. But they don't provide good service and with the ton of allergists in town, you can do much, much better.
