THE best painter in the city!
We own multiple buildings and manage others in SF, Marin and the greater Bay Area. Since discovering RBC we've always turned to them to paint our buildings and rarely even bother to get competing quotes. They are the BEST! Robert and his crew are true professionals and go above and beyond to make us happy... He knows his paints and colors and is in a position to consult with his customers on how best to address the job and color palette. We've used him on some of our investment properties and most recently on my personal home. He's got a great guarantee which he lives up to, as well for added piece of mind. The only drawback I can think of is that he is not cheap, but that being said he is worth the money! The paint on a building is the first line of defense against the San Francisco climate and not something you want to skimp on... If you value your buildings and plan on keeping them for the long run, then get your painting done by Robert! Nuff said... -

Getting your house painted is a pain in the ass, and we made the pain last as long as possible by getting four quotes from different painters. Robert's attention and attention to detail stood out.
We ended up narrowing our search down to two painters (Robert and another independent guy), and Robert came out to look at our building a few times before presenting his final quote. The other guy just did a drive-by. Just to be clear about it: we had some water damage that he wanted to look at closely before preparing the quote - you shouldn't necessarily expect him to come out multiple times unless you have a special situation.
When it came time to sign the contract and start the project, Robert started on the following week. He's always made himself available to meet with me when it's convenient for me, and he keeps me up to date on progress by phone. He just called to ask if his guys could work on the weekend. Uh, sure.
Anyway, I recommend this guy highly, and will use him again as soon as we need more painting. -

Our house needed to be painted or waterproofed.
I didn't know where to start so I used google and got up to speed on what might need to be done.
I got estimates from 5 paint contractors including Robert. His estimate was the most comprehensive and was well priced. After speaking to him, I got the sense that he was most knowledgeable and went with him.
He started work on the house within a couple days. Him and his crew are organized and methodical. They spent the first few days just prepping the house (pressure washing the house, patching stucco cracks, and masking). The rest of the time was spent conditioning the stucco, putting layers of elastomeric paint and top coats of acrylic.
No shortcuts were taken and Robert was there every day supervising his crew and even doing work on the house himself !
The work went smoothly, step by step. His crew even worked on weekends (with our permission) and the house was fully painted within 10 days.
Our house looks great and I have peace of mind knowing that it was painted properly and is fully waterproof.
I look forward to this coming winter.
If we need additional painting elsewhere, we will definitely give him a call.
It has been raining quite a lot this winter. No worries from me, our house is completely waterproofed.

in praise of Robert Berhard Coatings!
Recently I had the pleasure of working with Robert Berhard & his wonderful team of co-workers. Without a doubt, this is the most positive experience I've ever had with a painting crew. The workers were polite, skilled, and helpful at all times. Did I also tell you they were 'clean as a whistle'!
Mr. Berhard was extremely insightful in steering us towards three color selections that might be appropriate, and then placing samples of each color/with trim on our building to test them out. His own special signature was the blue he chose to paint the front door......unique & wonderful.
Our building is quite large, and Mr. Bernhard and crew were able to finish up within 5 weeks. The 'detailing' work was particularly impressive. Robert Bernhard is also just a jewel of a person to work with!!!!! For these reasons I wanted to submit this FIVE (5) STAR review of his work. -

Our house has been painted 4 times and this was the best job ever done. The most important task is prepping, not just painting. Robert and his crew paid detailed attention to the project with great ideas as needed. The prep was outstanding!!! They were professional, skilled, organized, and easy to have around. They are missed now that the project is completed.
Robert was honest, very savvy with problem solving, and did everything promised and more. I would not hesitate to use him again and highly recommend him for a great paint job. -

Robert did a fairly small job for me - the job was done quickly and looks good - he, unfortunately, forgot to bring by any extra for touch-ups - but overall it went very well.
