Gyros, Burgers, Salads ...all very good.  We are regulars here.
It's in a small converted old Taco Bell building.  The previous owner had a roadster theme and the new owner for some reason kept it.
You don't go for atmosphere.  Sometimes the two TVs are annoying.
They get pretty good business, so I suspect this place will expand or remodel or branch out.

I like this place, I really do, especially since I work down the street.  Huge portions (love their Dolmas) and the man who mans the drive thru is awesome.  Very blunt and helpful.

The Roadster Grill has a little bit of an identity crisis.  The food, thankfully, doesn't suffer.

When I first started working in the neighborhood, the Roadster Grill was a decent burger joint, albeit a little expensive.  Like the neighboring Bellaire Broiler Burger, the burgers & fries are quality stuff, but whereas BBB has a funky late 50's - early 60's charm from being of the era and never changed, the Roadster Grill is a converted Taco Bell with some tacky 50's sock-hop decorations from Party Boy tacked on the wall, some framed old movie photos, and some photos of old cars over the register.

A few years ago, a big Greek guy named Nick bought the joint and kept the burgers & sandwiches, added some great Greek food, and taped up some Greek travel posters over the framed movie posters.  You don't come here for the atmosphere.

However, the Greek food should not be missed.  While I'll still get one of their huge burgers from time to time, I love the Greek meatballs (keftedes) over spaghetti and the moussaka. Greek entrees come with a good sized salad, too.  It's a Greek diner masquerading as a 50's-themed burger joint.  Who knew?

I first spotted this place one night with my girlfriend. What caught my eye is that the Roadster Grill is housed in one of the old-school Taco Bell buildings. What topped that realization, however, was a sizable exodus of elderly people slowly making their way to their cars. I turned to my girlfriend and said, "this place might be pretty awesome." She rolled her eyes and it was forgotten.

During an insane burger run around town with my sister we found ourselves two buildings down from the Roadster at Bellaire Broiler Burger. We needed a shake; that was my excuse for getting us over to the Roadster. I was amazed at their menu. Not so amazed at how crowded it was, but not annoyed either. We ordered a Reese's malt that was so delicious it has lingered in our memory ever since.

Upon picking the child up from the airport and pressed for a place to wind down, we decided a return for a proper fix of the Roadster Grill was in order. All was calm when we entered; just what we were looking for aside from their exciting menu. I want to return to try the Greek portion of their menu, but it was really the Diner-like food menu that we were after.

I went with the Roadster Melt (with grilled onions, double swiss cheese on rye). This little hot rod is awesome! The onions, cheese and patty meld together like a little sliver of ooey-gooey heaven. I am definitely impressed.

What makes something like the Roadster Melt better? A side of cheese fries! I'm not talking that garbage some places sell where they take a slice of yellow American and throw it on top of the fries--that is so pedestrian! No these are REAL cheese fries. I'm talking about the the melty, disgustingly good type of cheese that is almost luminescent as it infiltrates a plate of fries. Steamy stuff--I know!

So the child ordered the Bandito Dog. We came to take no prisoners and the Roadster Grill. This bad boy is a hot dog served on a Hoagie Roll with a full on assault of chili and cheese. Ah sweet, magical heartburn!

The food at this place is like what I expected the 59 Diner to be the first time I ate there. Food-wise, however, there is no comparison; this place steals the show.

I would give it 3.5 if I could.  I ordered a gyro with fries, which is my go to at Niko Nikos.  Now, if I had never had a gyro at Niko Nikos, this place would be super high up there on my gyro list.  My main issue was that the gyro was too greasy and the fries weren't greasy enough.  The pita was fantastic, so I will make another stop by sometime soon to try another dish with some sort of pita in it.

Having a greek food restaurant readily available near my house is this venue's greatest advantage. Superb gyros paired with an outdoor patio makes for a quite enjoyable dining experience. Bring your friends, but be wary of the lunch hour rush, the small place gets uncomfortably crowded quickly. They do have a dingy drive thru too though. My only complaint would be that since the place is family run, the greek owner can get testy during peak hours, so don't waste his time.

Buns.... great buns....  price is good.  The food they serve there is pretty good....  I like it.  I like most of burgers...  I am not crazy about greek food but they serve it in a way I am able to eat.  If I remember, the place was sold to the brother(?) of original owner 5 yrs ago.  Since then, they have tried to add greek flavour.
Shake is pretty good.... I like spinach and rice side dish... as mentioned, I like almost all burgers with that tasty buns.... hot dogs... good but I like ones from Dogma... Dogma is my hot dog heaven.... oh, sorry, I like ones from here too....  I do.

Blech... I had the shrimp hoagie today for lunch... and I'm still tasting that ultra-vinegary tartar sauce that there was way too much of. The shrimp was good, as were the onion rings that I got with it, but man there was too much zingy sauce. I'm gonna be tasting it all day :(

I'm gonna have to try some of the Greek food sometime, but this place definitely won't go down as a place I want lunch from again any time soon.

I was recommended by a friend about this place one day at work. I was craving for a good gyro. Let me tell you, the gyros are probably one of the best around town. I love how its a mixture of beef and lamb and perfectly wrapped as well. I do not like 100% lamb. So this was a winning factor for me. Don't be scared away by the looks of the place. The gyros more than make up for it. I wish they had more locations around though. I would recommend this place if you want gyros! the burger is pretty good too. But it's the gyros that makes me want to come here.

I've been eating burgers at Roadsters for a while now.  They're some of the tasty burgers in town .

I completely ignored the Greek menu until recently reading a review by the Houston Press's Robb Walsh.  Walsh was right on the money, the Greek food here is fantastic.  Try the Moussaka or the Gyro sandwich, they're at least as good as Niko Niko's.

If you think the menu is schizophrenic, try a burger one time and a Greek dish the next.  I guarantee smoke will come out of your ears as you try to figure out what to order on your third visit.

I love this place!   I absolutely love the burgers.  The buns are so nice and soft.  I always get the onion straws.  It's the only place I know of where I can get anything close to a good onion ring, without doing it myself, and I don't particularly like cooking so this is great.  They also have the best shakes, the cookies and cream one is excellent.  The staff is always so nice, which for me can make or break a place.

I've been coming here alot recently, because it's near my work and has a drive through. The employees and owner are very very friendly, and the head honcho seem like a really nice guy who's into what he does. The burgers are decent, but the greek food is inconsistant. My gyro was pretty good one day, and thinly sliced and dry the next. Perhaps it's a timing issue... Fries... not so hot. The houston press review mentioned their onion rings, and I got them to-go. They were really soggy by the time I got to them, so they'll get another chance later on.

Who'd have thought that an old Taco Bell now branded as Roadster Grill would serve really nice greek food? I've been here three times now, and I can't comment on the variety of the menu, because I've gotten the beef souvlaki sandwich every time. Nicely seasoned chunks of meat, lettuce, tomato, onion on a fresh pita. Served with a tzatziki and a side of fries. It's a really good sandwich. Some day I'll try something else. The owner has served me each time and come by the table to ask how everything was at least twice. Only minor complaint is the fries have varied, sometimes wonderfully crispy, sometimes partly soft. All in all high marks.

Great lunch spot in Bellaire. I've only tried the burgers and Greek food. Burgers are consistently great. The gyro meat is sometimes burnt/dry, but it is still good. The wide options on the menu make it a good place to take a picky lunch coworker. Any time someone suggest Jax down the street, I counter with this place and always get compliments.
