We have just used Road Warrior again (my children move a lot) and had another wonderful experience. My husband and I have used them, and I recommend them to everyone I know. They are so friendly and helpful, and fairly priced. You can't go wrong hiring Road Warrior.

Road Warriors are a great group of guys (most neg reviews seem to come from a particular groupon client/incident? I've never had curt/rude phone presence with RW...) from mgmt to the actual working, sweating movers. They are monsters! No eff'ing around, no texting on the job, no nuthin' but moving! Super friendly, but - more importantly! - super efficient. And they're smart, too! Careful, thoughtful workers, not just gorillas banging your sh*t around.
We used them for an office move, then one of my officemates used them for her house move and I recommended them to our big boss when she need packer/movers.
We moved in a couple phases, one for decluttering where they took half of our stuff and stored for months (in their storage) while we showed & sold; another after we actually sold our condo, moving the other half of our life's belongings into storage (including a live chest freezer with tons of stocks, sauces, meats); and lastly, when we finally moved out of storage and into the new home two weeks later, patio furniture, bedroom furniture re-assembled, chest freezer intact and still chilling! Tons of boxes of books up to 3rd floor, god bless those Warriors of the Road.
[Friendly piece of advice to potential clients - go to the ATM the day before. They busted their asses, a little extra $$ for the gruntboys was deserved and happily given by us.] -

Excellence is the standard with the company owner Frank as well as his movers. The various fake negative postings here by mostly one same Groupon user are totally out of character with our experience with the people at Road Warrior. These Groupon people do not seem to tell the whole story, so leave out facts, the ones that make THEM look bad.
I was referred to Road Warrior by the colleague of my wife, who had just moved with them and was very happy with their performance.
When you call there are no long waits and repeat calls to talk with the owner, who makes the quotes, like with bigger companies, where you are just a number.
We got a great guaranteed price for a 2800 sqft antique home plus home business move from Massachusetts to New Hampshire (spread over two days, with each 1 1/2 truck) and they did not charge a dime extra. Payment was easy by credit card. A reasonable deposit is required. The final payment is done when all is done to one's satisfaction.
Quotes from Gentle Giant and others amounted to double that price, which is a ripoff since those companies really do not have the costs they pretend to have, just high margins or overpaid management and sales people!
The movers of Road Warrior came right on time to load and finished unloading on schedule.
These are NOT 'fly by nite students' like with other companies, but serious and muscular pros.
They are a cheery well organized bunch with brains who solved the little challenges of our move and the enormous weight to move easily.
I would recommend them to all serious moving families and would use them again.
Note: Any 'Groupon' reviewer is really not a good reference. Like the Restaurant week coupon users, they are always cheap skates who do not pay full price, but expect full price product and service, like a Volkswagen buyer expecting a Mercedes quality and service, for free. That does not work of course. I advise buyers to ignore them and vendors not to sign up with these programs. They are of no marketing benefit and cause more harm than value. One attracts mainly the rotten tomatoes in one's 'customer basket'. -

We bought a groupon and had a great experience with Road Warrior. $99 for $300 worth of moving can't be beat!
My husband and I moved from a one-bedroom apartment in Somerville to a decent-sized house in the 'burbs about a week ago. Having recently gotten married, we had a lot of stuff crammed into our 1BR, and the move would involve a 30-40 min. trip (w/o traffic...traffic would add time) along 93, so we were worried that the quote would be lower than the actual costs. However, the total cost ended up being pretty close to the quote, possibly lower?? We were extremely pleased with the value.
Two guys arrived right on time and got to work. They seemed to pack their truck quite efficiently. One guy was incredibly big and tall and seemed more experienced, but the other was certainly very strong and capable, and quite friendly. They were professional and quick. They seemed to take their time putting padding and tape on furniture, but that's probably for the best, because nothing was damaged. I think we had one broken glass as our only moving casualty, and that was due to our poor packing!
After a bit of traffic, unloading was even quicker and smoother, and they were willing to help us move everything to the right spot. We felt bad making them go up the stairs on a 90+ degree day, but they seemed more than happy to!
Total, our move took four hours, including drive time (but not including their drive time to and from Arlington), for 2 movers. And with the groupon, the total was around $400, which we were delighted with. Even $600 (the price w/o a groupon) would have been totally reasonable.
The only very minor complaint is that it was hard to get confirmation of our date/time from them beforehand. They should have a better email/phone system or something, and it would have put my husband's nerves at ease if they had communicated a bit better. He was worried they wouldn't show or something. But since everything went so smoothly the day of, that was really not a big deal. We'd definitely use them again and recommend them to friends. -

Fabulous movers. Polite, efficient and thorough. For the move itself I'd give them five stars gladly. For the curt & rude phone demeanor I experienced twice, I drop them down a star. That being said, we're recommending these guys to everyone. They were excellent!

Groupon buyers BEWARE. I quickly had my Groupon refunded after talking to these guys. They advised me that my studio move (without a bed or office furniture, mind you) would require 3 movers and a 4 hour minimum with two (yes, TWO) hours allotted to the drive to and from Boston. The tone from the individual who took my call was curt and indifferent. This is a major customer service issue. Do you want to hand care of your possessions over to people who don't give a rat's behind? I understand these guys have to make a buck, too, but not from me.... I would not be comfortable using them at any price.

still love these peeps! Sadly I've done my last of last moves with Road Warriors ( I moved out of state) and hope to find a company here one day that's maybe even half as good. Every time I called they remembered me( I've moved alot!!!!) and the last time I called I was arranging a move for someone else. They treated those people great and are just always awesome to deal with. they never complained about the way I packed a box ( if it was too heavy or off balance) they just picked it up took it to the truck and went on with their lives. Plus they are just the best group of guys our there!

Don't use these guys. Not honest. I am surprised at good reviews. May be they posted it themselves. I called them with a groupon and they said that they won't accept it with the rate stated on the groupon site ($145 for 3 men). According to them, its a promo rate and groupon can't be combined. In my opinion, first impressions in any business are the most important ones esp. for a moving company. Bottomline, don't be swayed by the positive reviews on yelp, use your own due diligence.

These guys are great!
We recently moved and we were amazed with their swiftness and efficiency. They rocked out almost our entire 2 and 1/2 bedroom apartment to and fro in under three hours. They were cheerful and respectful and pretty nice to boot. My only complaint would be that they were almost too efficient...they moved so quickly that they moved anything that wasn't nailed down and delivered it so fast that we had trouble directing them as to where everything went, and we ending up with some kitchen boxes in the bedroom, etc. But this was more our fault for being so disorganized. I would definitely use them again or recommend them to anyone. -

I bought a Groupon to use with them for $99 for $300 worth of services. I had a very easy move - just loading stuff from my apartment into a truck I had rented. Other movers charge around $150 for this sort of thing, so I thought surely the $300 would cover it. When I called to schedule my move, they told me they had a $440 minimum. There was nothing about the minimum in the Groupon or on their website. It was really sketchy. Luckily, Groupon refunded my money. I would not recommend Road Warrior.

Another company (let's just say they are a benign large person) quoted us a price of over $2,000. Road Warrior quoted us just over a thousand. They came, couldn't have been a group of nicer guys, and moved our entire two bedroom apartment with almost 2,000 books in three and a half hours, coming in $300 LESS than quoted. Would absolutely do business with again.

Road Warriors is GREAT....I have used them for two moves in the course of 4 years (not that I'm bragging because moving is moving and NOT fun) but Road Warrior made it uneventful. They are super careful and wrap all furniture in padded blankets. The are cautious leaving the old premises and entering the new, holding their hads over furniture legs so not as to mar ceilings, etc. The team is super friendly and Frank (owner/manager) is very accommodating. I recommend them highly.

Let's just say these guys were NOT afraid to get creative with our move. The box springs won't fit? Watch it bend more than you thought possible. Couch not going up those stairs? Ever hear the word "hoist?" The incredibly hard working guys also packed everything carefully and had a generally good attitude for what promised to be a challenging and exhausting day. Even though it cost more than we thought, they did a lot more than was expected. I would absolutely go back to them for my next local move (who else is going to be able to get my couch out again?).

I hired Road Warrior to move me from Newton to Providence. I have to say I was a little nervous being a single female directing two men. But George and Jeff showed up and they were as nice as can be. They were super fast with loading and unloading, despite the third floor walk up that I moved into. The price was reasonable too. While I could have probably found cheaper movers I doubt my experience would have been as great.

We used Road Warriors to move our 4 bedroom town house in Allston to a 2nd/3rd floor 3-bedroom apartment in Arlington. We had three guys and they finished in less than 6 hours, pretty amazing (and under the quote). We had Mayflower movers on our trip out from Michigan and they had multiple problems with box springs and couches. These guys were all competent and each had their own problem solving skill set. There was hoisting, crib and daybed assembling, boxes reorganized into the basement and attic, you name it and they did it efficiently without complaints. I would recommend these guys over anyone, and we've moved a lot.

Road Warrior's motto, "we'll go the extra mile for you", is right on. I had contracted with another moving company to move us from MA to SC the week before the 4th of July, the busiest moving week of the year. When that $%&^# mover DID NOT SHOW UP ON THE DAY OF THE MOVE AND DID NOT CONTACT ME, I was fortunate to find Road Warrior at 4:30 pm that same day, which was the day before we were closing on the sale of our MA home and had to vacate. Frank, the owner, provided a quote within an hour and had a crew stop by the house at 7:00 pm to plan the pack/move. I was very impressed that the quote was fair and did not take advantage of my situation. The next morning, 8 people showed up and packed/loaded our 15K pounds by 4:30 PM, allowing us to get to closing at 5:00 pm and saving us from a terrible and potentially costly situation. Richard, the crew chief, is a top notch professional and took full responsibility for the quality of the entire process. He also drove the truck to SC and was the crew chief on the delivery end. All the workers on both ends were polite, efficient, experienced, careful, cheerful and very hard-working. Both Frank and Richard contacted me several times during the move to check on my satisfaction and keep me informed on the arrival times. I highly recommend you chose Road Warrior for your next move, these guys are the greatest.

I grew up traversing the poverty line, so the idea of hiring movers has always seemed like fantasy to me. But when my gf and I bought our house, we thought we should leave the world of nomadic renters in style by hiring movers. We went with Road Warrior on the recommendation of a friend of ours. They were friendly, thorough and very fast. They finished an hour ahead of the time they quoted us, and were still very careful with our things. One serving plate did break in a box, but we used recycled boxes that were a bit confusingly labeled, so I don't hold that against them. They also forgot one of our plants, a giant, heavy tree, which we should have realized on our walk through. The only other negative was the fact that they charged a couple of fees for tape and stuff that we would have liked to have been told about prior to being charged, but I guess that's pretty standard with movers. And they charged us an hour and a half for their travel to and from Brighton (to JP-Roslindale). Still, all in all, they were excellent. Very quick, and well priced.

These guys were fantastic!! Just moved my Mom today in Medford and they were efficient, on time, fast and very expereinced. Additionally the quote and time spent were accurate. This was the first time we used them and are impressed and if we have to move again we will definetly come back to road warriors. thanks Richard and Bonty

I've used this company twice. The first experience was good enough that I hired them again. The second, however, would be my last dealings with the company. First, they broke things both times, but they were so nice and efficient I forgave them and didn't complain. However I was grossly underquoted the second time and ended up paying almost $500 for a very, very simple move: all the stuff was packed in a storage locker and needed only to be delivered to me. The owner, manager was began to yell at me when I dared question the fact that I was charged $200 more than the quote...
