I know.  I know.  I have done 2 other reviews for RG.  But this is now 2012 and the raves still continue.  You don't have to be genius material to recognize a well run restaurant.  The teamwork - every employee checks frequently so you feel noticed and important.  And this was a Sunday when everyone wants to squeeze the most out of the day by eating out one last time before that dreaded Monday arrives.

There are always those special little touches that make the customer in me feel appreciated.  Flowers on the table.  Carefully chosen, mellow jazz.  Flickering candles.  Warm colors inside, and an exotic green house feel in the enclosed patio. Delicious smells coming from the open kitchen.  The touches are classy but you still have that casual feel that makes you want to linger.

We came back for a great steak breakfast. This is the 3rd time Mr. B has ordered it.  Order this and you will have no regrets.

I have heard about their great bagel sandwich, then saw one on it's way to an eager customer this morning.  So that was my choice on an "everything" bagel.  Yum to everything.  I love the onion and toasted sesame seeds on the warm bagel, and the fried egg (with crispy edges!), crispy bacon, tomato, onion and cream cheese made it perfect.

My new discovery - they juice their own apple/carrot juice.  It was still foamy from the juicer.  How much healthier and delicious can you get?

To the owner, Rodrigo Avila: You are doing everything right.  Your hands-on involvement and dedication is note worthy. The kitchen flows superbly and your service, excellent.  I can tell you take your Yelp reviews seriously, because there was absolutely nothing to complain about the service today.

Glad to have met the mastermind behind this great little restaurant.  You bring excitement to the ho hum city of Chino.  This is definitely the place to go!   Riverside Grill.

I checked this place out on yelp and was excited about trying the beer bread. I had beer bread once as a kid and it was very different than the bread I had before. I remember beer bread tasting a lot like beer, but this beer bread was a different experience. the bread was toasted on one side, like a cheese crisp. the meat of the bread is also soft, it was very tasty.

I also had a veggie wrap, i was interested in it because it had cactus (though i don't remember eating the cactus, just a lot of lettuce.) the chipotle sauce really makes this dish. I also ordered the potato salad (recommended by a friend) and it was also really  good.

I recommend this place, anything is just about good and the prices are fair.

Went here for the first time today.

The food was excellent!  The owner very nice, seated us at a table outside, the heaters were on and it was cozy, he brought me a little stand to hang my purse on, never saw that before.

Have to say that the experience was ruined by the horrible service!  My husband asked for the biscuits and gravy breakfast, he asked for sausage, it came with bacon, when he questioned the waitress she said at first that she didn't remember him asking for sausage, but then said "oh, we ran out of sausage sot they gave you bacon".  I later saw another customers breakfast come out with sausage!!

Waited forever for our check, three people asked if I wanted a box but no one brought one.  Finally the other waitress brought out the check, I had to ask our waitress to take the check when she came to the table next to us, she looked at it and turned around!!  The people sitting next to us told us that the service is always bad, they learned to ask for the check halfway thru their meal.

I would hope the owner would hire better people to serve his great food!

Maybe it's me not you...but I came in with my 4 year old expecting big things...big delicious things. But alas, I left disappointed with onion on my breath. I ordered some salad with portobello mushroom & beets ( I LOVE beets) & goat cheese. I thought this has to be bombtastic, all these yelper helpers can't be wrong. They just can't! Well $20 later for a salad, water, & kids fish and chip lunch I left sadly disappointed. Maybe salad is not their thing...maybe I shoulda ordered a sandwich....maybe a side of beer bread & some Hangar 24 brew...all these maybes....but I'm glad I finally scratched that itch. Maybe I'll go back but it's not looking good. As for the onion on my breath...a good electric toothbrush, floss & mouthwash took care of it. But...I chased it with a stick of gum to be on the safe side.

I have been, and always will be a huge fan of Riverside Grill.  The owner never ceases to amaze me with his new ideas for menu items and renovation of his restaurant.

The restaurant offers outdoor and indoor seating. It is nice to come here and sit outside, which is covered and heated.  However, now they have added a bar inside, so seating is also a great option indoors.

I enjoy several items on the menu.  I love their chili or 5 Mary 3 for lunch.  The menu items also come with their beer bread which is absolutely to die for.

I also love their breakfast! My favorite item is the chorizo omelette with sour cream. Sure, it's not the healthiest thing on the menu, but it is simply devine.

The wait staff, particularly Kira, are also very nice and give great suggestions for ordering.  If you are in the area, do not hesitate to stop by this restaurant.  It's in a very unsuspecting area, but the food is definitely high caliber and worth the visit.

I love going to this place on Sunday's for lunch.  The beer bread is awesome, especially with the Italian sausage soup.  They've done a lot of remodeling over the years and it looks great.  The owners seem very passionate and friendly and the service is excellent.  Parking's not great, but I've always been able to find a spot.

We came for bunch on a lazy Sunday morning.  The atmosphere is pretty chill.  Love the patio seating, very relaxing.  The dining room looked really nice too.

We ordered the Marabelous Sunrise & a la Roma omelets & shared.  Everything was pretty tasty.  The grilled sourdough was really good, slight crunch one side & soft on the other.  However, the home fries were meh, cooked unevenly :(

Service was a bit slower, but we didn't mind.  We were having girl time!

I'm wanting to try the almond champagne or mimosas next time ;)

Will definitely recommend for relaxing brunch/lunch.

Tip:  they had a sign stating open for dinner daily, maybe next time!

Riverside Grill is one of my favorite places to go. They have a bit of everything and it is delicious. The food always tastes fresh and the service is so friendly. I went in on crutches and the owner paved a way for me to get through easily. He pulled my chair out for me and even took my crutches and placed them somewhere out of the way.

I have never been for breakfast just lunch. I am always amazed at the amount of choices on the menu. You have your options of cold or hot sandwiches, burgers, salads, and they even offer a healthier menu on the back for those who want to enjoy food but with less calories. I love ordering from that menu because they have great options if you love vegetables, like me. I always order a salad with my meal because their salads are so fresh and crisp. Considering the amount of food you get, I think the pricing is relatively inexpensive.

The place is small and parking can be tough but I have never let that deter me from eating there. The seating is spacious even though the space is small. Even when they are really busy, I never feel as though I am eating with another group because our tables are too close together. The patio seating is nice also. I ate out there when it was warm outside but the patio felt cool and refreshing.

I went to this place on the recommendation of another and I am happy I went. This place seems to get advertising by word of mouth. It deserves it. It is a nice relaxing place to go. It has become my family favorite because we never feel like we are being rushed out. We can go at our own pace and feel comfortable enough to take our time.

Riverside Grill, or "The Grill" as the locals call it is one of those go-to spots.  It has a great variety of delicious food.  They have great grilled chicken breasts, sandwiches, steak, tacos, salads and burgers.  The iced tea is so dang good here.  Its hard to place an order and NOT get the fries because you WILL eat them all.  But the bonus here is you can choose your side order. Fries, potato salad, fruit, cottage cheese, soup or salad.  If you get a chance, order the chili.  Its homemade and delicious!
Plan to spend about 10-15 bucks per person for lunch.  Rod (the owner) is a pretty friendly guy and has a great sense of humor.

Food is excellent...BUT, we come back over and over for the delicious food and each time vow not to come back because of the ridiculously slow service. As I type this, I'm sitting at a table waiting for someone to take our order and it's been over 10 min...with only 5 other full tables in the restaurant and other people getting served before us (though arriving after us). AND servers standing around chatting instead of serving tables clearly ready to order.

Every time we visit, we have to request our bill looong after being finished with our food. And after receiving the bill, we have to flag someone down to come run our card 10 min later. A simple breakfast here (when we walk in already knowing what we want to order) can take well over an hour and a half. Why?????

I don't quite understand why we're the only people with this review. I mean, we're polite, we're nice to servers, we tip well, we don't make special requests off the menu, and we come here a lot. Don't know why the service is so consistently bad for us! One time I even had a server drop a dish of salsa on the ground next to me, which splashed all over my clothing & purse. He said, "I'll be right back," and never came back to clean it up OR apologize. The owner walked by later, saw it, and cleaned it up, and made a joke to me about how messy I was. I know he was joking, but no...I'm not messy...your server spilled on me and then left.

Bottom line: excellent, fresh food, but long wait times for everything with no apologies for the bad service. Unacceptable.

You must try this place for lunch!

I have had my business located in Chino for 17 years and drive right by this restaurant everyday since it's on my way  to the bank, yet I never stopped in.

Why?  Its located next door to a car wash, infact it looks like it might be  building associated with the car wash. Yes there is a sign out front but the whole place is wrapped in plants and so it really doesn't stand out.

One day I had my daughter with me at the office. She wanted to try something new. Hmmm.  Ok, so I know a place I have been meaning to try.

Wow!  They really knock it out of the park with their food. It is the true hidden gem of Chino. The sandwiches are packed. The salads are absolutely huge, and are the bomb for someone who is a veggie.

Yep you may wind up waiting in line for a bit, but really it's worth it.

    Great eats!

Had the beefeater sandwich with potato salad tonight. It was delicious!! The bread was perfectly toasted, the meat was tender, and the au jus was piping hot.The food came out super quick from when we ordered it - even on a busy Saturday night! Two others at my table tried the cheeseburgers and really enjoyed them.

My only complaint is that our waitress was pretty scatter-brained, but they seemed to be a little understaffed at the time.

Try sitting outside. The inside is pretty crowded and dark at night time, but the patio was well-lit and while it got pretty loud in there, it was a really nice environment.

I've been to this place a couple of times over the years and its always a great experience. This place is perfect, absolutely perfect. A small restaurant that returns to the basics and keeps it simple. A list of great sandwiches, awesome omelets during the mornings, and service that is absolutely unequaled.

Ate here with my roommate tonight and was served again by a very attentive waitress which I've seen numerous times. Her, along with the other servers, are always very attentive and will come by at the right times; just enough to check if we need anything but not so frequent as to become a bother during the meal. This time I had the French dip, a warm juicy beef in a toasted French bread that was still steamy as it was brought to our table. I ordered the side of fresh fruit, which is ALWAYS fresh and this time included a watermelon slice, a strawberry, a pineapple slice, and orange slice.

The place is usually pretty busy during the afternoons and lunch time, with the evenings much quieter and with fewer people. But nonetheless the food is always fresh and never disappoints.

I know Sat. morning for breakfast can be busy.. I got there pretty early and patio was very open. But I realy can't believe the horrible service I got with just me and my 5 year old. I think only 1 real waitress and perhaps what seemed to be the bus boys helping?? I guess I really don't know who was my real server, the bus boys helped me more that my waitress, who shouldn't be a server as she wasn't very happy or good at her job. Maybe family business and she is a relative?? donno

Food, prices and patio area was overall good. I know that the place is small and I didn't want to feel cramped inside so nice summer morning we sat outsite. Perfect to eat while your car is getting washed next door :)

Well I guess I shouldn't have read the reviews because I came here with high expectations. The food is good, but this place is expensive. I had to pay 3.00 for a second cup of coffee! Ridiculous, and I had to get that one myself. I asked for hot sauce and they forgot. If you have extra money and it's a special occasion and you aren't in a hurry then I would recommend this place. Otherwise go to your favorite local place and enjoy it simple.

And make sure you ask for no garnish on your plate, if your like me and hate pickles! The inside is small, but they have a good size patio section that is really nice as well. The parking lot is small, but I always seem to get a spot.

After reading all of the great reviews I decided that I would try this place hoping it wasn't like an IHop or Denny's. The food is very mediocre and I Was pretty disappointed. The staff is extremely slow, we didn't get our menus when we sat down and had to wait for those. The place isn't heated and it was freezing in there which made it hard to enjoy your meal.

I got the chorizo omelet and it was bland, and very oily. The reality is, this could have very well been a chain restaurant which I try to avoid because the food isn't good at all.

If your from a big city or a traveller like myself and have truly eaten some amazing breakfast places that have high yelp reviews please dont be fooled by this-- try something else because this is just a pricier dennys.

This is a great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Whether I order a sandwich (Amy Loves Tuna!), salad (Cobb Salad w/ beer bread) or anything on their breakfast menu, I am greatly satisfied. I have never ordered anything off their dinner menu since it is a bit expensive, but their lunch menu has great options for dinner. They have great discounts for beer during their happy hour. Sometimes their service is a bit slow, but overall it's a fun place with great good.

I had lunch here with a couple of friends and ordered the Chicken Champagne Salad...OMG, OMFG! Absolutely YUMMY YUMMY! Chicken is perfectly seasoned and the salad dressing is just perfection!

The people that works there are awesome! Real, down to earth and just plain fun!

Great little place to grab lunch in Chino. Our waitress was great and the owner was walking around talking to the diners. I had a burger and fries and my girlfriend had a chicken salad. The chicken on her salad was juicy and flavorful. I browsed the dinner menu and they have some great sounding items. Apparently they do Taco Tuesdays with filet mignon tacos?!?!?! "Quaint Restaurant With A Vintage Feel..."

Truly, a "hidden" gem in the city of Chino. It's literally hidden guys, beneath some plants, bushes and some trees, with a car wash to its left and a Chevron gas station on its right. Odd location but don't let that (or Chino P.D. 'cause they luv Riverside Grill) keep you from trying this place out. The restaurant is really tiny inside, I'd say around 12 tables that seat 2-4 people, but they also have an outside patio with plenty of seating.

They definitely make some of the best sandwiches in town! My fave, the Hot Tuna Deluxe ($8.75) - albacore tuna salad, cheddar cheese, lettuce, on grilled sourdough. Yum! All their sandwiches and burgers come with a side. I usually get the steak fries or the POTATO SALAD...it's homemade and I highly recommended it! They also have some great breakfast items, which are served until 11am. My fave, the Breakfast Bagel ($5.95) - cream cheese, egg, bacon, tomato, on a toasted bagel. Also yummy and very satisfying!

Prices are fairly reasonable during breakfast and lunch, most items are under $10. Items on the dinner menu are slightly more moderately priced, ranging from $13 - 24. Whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner, the portions are always huge.

Parking is REALLY limited here, so if you plan to come during lunch hours, CARPOOL!

    Great place for lunch meetings!

Funny, the food here reminds me of the greasy spoons in my hometown in the High Desert. Good, honest food. I had the French Beer Toast and it was excellent. The OJ is fresh-squeezed and I appreciate that. The coffee is decent and refilled constantly. The service in general was excellent, considering we were here for Sunday Brunch. My co-workers and I like to refer to this place as "the secret sandwich spot", even though this place is far from a secret.

Every time I go this place is packed, they have indoor and outdoor seating, which is quite nice on a sunny day. The parking lot is small and can fill up fast which can be frustrating, but the food is well wort it. All of my co-workers love this place, and never has anyone left not fully satisfied. Two of our favorites as the "B.L.T. & A" and the "Fantastic Turkey", and for the side I like to get the pasta salad.... yum.

Tip - there is a car-wash next door, so if you are in need of a car wash drop it off there and get some lunch while you wait... I'm a big fan of doing this.

    Pros
    - Great service
    - Quality food
    - Clean decor
    - Quick wait times

    Cons:
    - Small tables, 4 people were very crammed, luckily we were all small.
    - People who came after us got their food before us.

Quick sandwich/burger place with a bistro cafe feel to it. I had the fish & chips with pasta salad and fries. Can't go wrong with fish & chips so if they didn't mess that up I'm happy. No, but really all plates had good clean presentation, good portions for lunch and waiter service was friendly. I did say another table got their food before us but ours came shortly, not a big deal but worth noting.

There's a car wash next door so maybe a good chance to get your car washed while grabbing a bite to eat at the same time. Across the street is a smog test so you can also get that done too. =)

When I first move to Chino, I used to past by this place a number of times. Till my wife said one day..."hey there a restaurant behind all those plants & trees". It was kinda in a weird spot. Between a gas station and a car wash but then again there are weirder places in So Cal. I usually keep it simple and order a Joshua Club Sandwich and Ice Tea. My wife samples more off their menu and hasn't had an issue with anything she has ordered. The one thing that sticks out in my mind is the potato salad that you can choose as your side. Man this is the best tasting potato salad I have had or have ever had the inclination to mention throughout my eating adventures. Creamy and not overdone this potato salad is good to go=) All in all food and the place rate very good with me.

    But......

One thing is a consistent. Service is okay and a little slow at times. The servers are nice but they seem not to have enough on staff. Then again this is a small local joint so it is what it is, but this is worth a try for anyone in the area. So check it out.

Cute little place.  I ordered the turkey sandwich which was good, but nothing over-the-top spectacular.  It was made fresh and the bread was nice and soft.  Great portions for the price.  I paid $8.95 for a huge sandwich and lots of fries and ranch dressing.

I heard the breakfast is super good, maybe I'll come back to try it!

I LOVE this place. Food is always delicious and high quality and the employees are always friendly, funny, and in a good mood. I love coming here as often as possible but since I moved out of Chino I don't get to go as much as I would like. Their sandwiches cannot be beat and their dinners are also delicious. The only suggestion I would make, and it's not a complaint, just a suggestion, is that they add some seasonal dishes to their menu. It seems like their menu has been the same for the past several years which is fine, because it works, but if they spruced it up by adding some nice seasonal items I would definitely give them a try.

I've been here once to celebrate our one month anniversary.

Ambiance: It's the perfect place to celebrate a small special intimate occasion. It's nice, but not so fancy or stuffy that you'd feel overwhelmed or anything. The interior is a bit cozy with some cute little booths, and the outdoor patio is perfect for a summer night, lined with some nice green ferns tables seated for two. I hate how in a lot of fast food restaurants there's harsh flourescent lighting from hell. But you won't get this here. The lighting is pretty dim and low lit, perfect for a romantic evening and holding hands. The restaurant isn't necessarily located in the fanciest part of town, but not necessarily in the ghetto either. And if you're sitting in the patio, be forewarned that even though there is a screen and some shrubbery surrounding you, you can still feel kinda exposed since it's so darn close to the street. If you have a large group, say 7-10, it's not a problem for the server to put some tables together. However, I wouldn't recommend this place for a super huge group. I believe the outside patio can only accommodate about 33 people. We arrived here on a Monday night and it wasn't crowded. The bathroom (they only have two single stalls) was clean, well stocked with paper goods, and even had a pleasant fruity/floral scent.

Food: I had the bowl of italian soup with beer bread, and the beefeater with the fresh seasonal fruit (slice of orange, a slice of cantaloupe, slice of honeydew, and a slice of watermelon). The italian soup was delicious and full of flavor, it was the perfect compliment with the warm light buttery beer bread. The beefeater sandwich was also warm and tasty and even tasted delicious without the au jus sauce. I highly recommend these!

My boyfriend had the italian soup with beer bread, some sort of steak sandwich on a white toasted bun, with sauteed mushrooms, onions, and bell peppers. This was tasty too! He also had the steak fries. According to him, he wished that he had ordered the fresh fruit since it's healthier, and e because the other stuff is quite filling. He said that the steak fries were "nothing special." They tended to get kinda soggy with all the other stuff he ordered.

ALLERGEN ALERT: If you're allergic to seafood (like me), beware, all the fried items are fried along with the prawns. If this is a problem for you, steer clear of these items (e.g. steak fries, onion rings, chicken tenders, etc) God forbid that you'd break out into hives or have your face swollen on a lovely date!

Dessert: My boyfriend and I split a flan. For $3.50, it wasn't bad. It was decorated nice with some whipped cream and drizzled with chocolate. I'm pretty picky when it comes to flan - I like mine simply smooth, creamy, and sweet just like my kisses. But this flan pretty much reminded me of a gorgeous blonde bimbo. Pretty to look at, but a little disappointing once you start to get to know them better. I guess this must have been made WAY ahead of time and left sitting in the fridge for awhile, since there was this hard layer on the bottom that shouldn't have been there. Oh well. I guess I had wandering eyes when it came to the other desserts on the menu. I noticed there were other appealing things too like tiramisu and a brownie. Oh well.

Price: The price range was reasonable. I believe about $30-40 was spent for the both of us.

Service: Like another yelper mentioned, our server was nice and friendly. She was definitely attentive, but not overly/annoyingly so.

I'm only giving this place a four out of five stars since the flan was a little disappointing.

In summary, this place is pretty good to eat out. The good was delicious, the service was great, the ambiance was nice, the price is reasonable.
