My first visit there, the owner "Dr L" basically told me i had something wrong with every tooth! it was crazy!...... it might have done her well to get to know me and know that i worked as a dental assistant for 4 years! and i KNOW my teeth were not THAT bad. I am actually pretty anal about my teeth being clean so i was shocked at her diagnosis and even asked her to show me in the xrays in which I did NOT see the problems.  I felt like telling her... " i look at xrays for years and these problems you are telling me about are NON- existant!"

I was pretty dissapointed that a Dr would do that to a patient, just try to make money off them and telling them they need needless service. Especially with something like dental care which is never pleasant.

However, I did get a filling done with Dr Phan who was very good. I felt bad that she had to work there in a place where the owner was known to rip people off. She was very honest and told me what I "really" needed to get done.. lets just say it was 1/10 what Dr L quoted!

They also over billed me for my services and took 6 months to correct it. There front desk receptionist was ALWAYS on the phone with her boyfriend when I came and made me wait while she baby-talked with him ( stop me from puking please)

The Blair Witch actually exists; she moved to Santa Clara and took up dentistry. Dr. "L" has got to be the most self-involved, and inconsiderate health care provider I have ever come accross. Her staff is actually friendly and try their best to put on a brave face.
I recently saw the Seinfeld episode where Elaine got "blacklisted" at her doctor's office, and for some unknown reason she couldn't schedule an appointment anymore.... what hapenned at this place isn't too far from that scenario. No specific reason was given although I suspect it was because I had to cancel 3 appts (all with advance notice and within the appropriate time window). You'd think reasonable people (especially dentists..?) would understand and not act like a jilted drag-queen when you come in 3-months later w/ an emergency... especially since you're a PAYING customer.
I paid all of her inflated bills so I really hoped she'd mind her manners; oh well...
People, there's no shortage of dentists in the Bay Area; stay away from Dr. Giggles.

I have been hopping dentists for more than 3 years now, and I have experienced a wide range of dental offices.  Dr. Lee has proved to be on the top of my list of best dental practices. Her attention to patient is superb and makes you feel like you are her only patient.  The office is also very clean and equipped with the state of the art dental systems. I highly recommend Rivermark Dental and its staff and will continue to visit this office for my dental care.

Regarding Monica's review on the receptionist, my experience with her is totally the opposite.  She has taken care of my complex insurance issues very well.   Her name is Rachael, not Cindy.  I guess Monica has mistaken someone else.

I love the experience in this dental office.  

First, I am very happy with all the dental treatments I received from the dentists over there.  I have been using "Invisalign" they provided for 2 years.  They did excellent  follow-up's with me and the "Invisalign" company.  Now, I have great result.   I am impressed with their consistent professionalism.    

Second, they have computerized dental systems or equipments.  You can see every corner of your teeth on the screen in front of you.  Technology seems to take over the world.

I will never come back to this place.......this happened back in 2004 or 2005.

Their office manager/receptionist Cindy was a total and complete incompetent airhead! I am not sure if she is still there but wow she wasn't the "brightest crayon in the box".

Dr. Lee told me that I could replace my silver filling with ceramic fillings so that they were unnoticable and apparently "better for you". I was told by the Office Manager that my insurance would cover most of the work and that it would be about $150 for the 4 teeth. She even stated that she called the insurance company to confirm this and put it as an estimate. Now I understand that it was purely an estimate but she was wrong...it came out to be $800. The funny thing was, I was never notified of this charge until I got a letter from a Collections agent??!! WTH??!! This was 3 months after my visit and I thought I was all taken care of. She didn't even bother to call me and at least tell me that she was wrong and what I owed. It would have been alot less embarrassing just paying it at that time then having to tell the Collection agent what happened!! So I went to see her after this happened and she apologized and acted confused..whatever! I was pissed. I paid what I owed and told her to make sure she called the Collection agent and get it off my credit!!!! And she did......

I wouldn't go back.....I felt like their office was unorganized although it was shiny and pretty when I went there. I went back to my old dentist and apologized profusely for "cheating" on him.

I really hate to leave a bad review... especially since I feel that everyone makes mistakes and one shouldn't judge based on incidents that happened to just one individual..

But I desperately wish that I hadn't let my family member just randomly go to this office, just because it was close by for him. if only i had looked up their reviews!! because now there are mistakes that were made at this office that can never be undone. (kind of a big deal with lots of money involved, periodontal surgery...etc)

When I called in to simply ask questions about it, so that my own dentist can correct it (obviously, I wasn't happy about this, but I was trying to be understanding, and wanted things to be civil. after all, things happen.)  but the dentist was extremely defensive and rude from the very beginning and would not let the situation come to a resolution.

All I wanted was a refund of the procedures that were not done yet, so that he can finish his treatments elsewhere. but no. not at this office. I think this kind of thing must happen to Dr. P a lot. seeing how she's so crazy defensive and ready to fight. one of the rudest individuals I have ever encountered, I am shocked.

anyway. I'm contacting the authorities some time this week. what a HUGE waste of my time and energy.

update: after a visit to a specialist, it was determined that everything that was done at this office needs to be re-treated.

I used to rate this a 5, but it has recently gone down to a one for the following reasons:

1) When I got my cavity filled, their equipment did not work. Therefore I had to spend an extra 1 hour with my mouth open because they did not have the intelligence to have a backup

2) I went to pick up a mouth guard 10 minutes before closing time. I even called earlier that day to tell them I was coming. When I got there the doors were locked because they decided to close early.

3) I paid in full at the appointment, and recently received a notice that I owe over a hundred dollars and if I don't pay then they will contact the credit bureau. That's such bullshit!!! I absolutely paid in full!

I could not agree with Jerry more!!!!! What a NIGHTMARE. I had a dental emergency, so I called Rivermark Dental because they're near my work. They said they'd see me. I went in and filled out all sorts of paperwork. Then, Dr. "L," THE MOST SELF-ABSORBED and DESPICABLE dentist imaginable, asked me to sit in a chair. I very clearly stated that I did NOT want to be examined/touched until we got the price thing out of the way. She got super-bitchy with me, and I jumped out of the chair before she ever touched me. I immediately headed for the door (once again, she did not even take a look inside my mouth) and made an appointment for later in the week with my regular dentist in Morgan Hill. Today, I received the most absurd message from her. She called to tell me that my insurance would not cover the charges that I incurred (WHAT CHARGES!!!???), and she was immediately sending me a bill for $65. What the HELL? I had a 1 minute conversation with this WITCH. This psycho, self-absorbed little shop of horrors dentist makes $65/minute. Nice. Needless to say, there is no possible way that I will be paying this money. I am not exaggerating here. I am so distraught about the fact that this FREAK has all of my personal information.
If you do ONE nice thing for yourself, make it not going to this  fraudulent and contemptible psycho who practices dentistry in Santa Clara. Dr. L is a freak who lacks compassion in the most obvious and frightening way. Can we say sociopath?

My experience with Rivermark Dental was the opposite of the previous reviewer. My dentist, however, was Dr. "P". She was knowledgeable, friendly, approachable and answered all of my questions. To top it off, she has a nifty mouth cam that takes pictures of your teeth. Not the most pleasant thing to see when you have a large cavity, but cool nonetheless.
