I like to bring my dogs here when they're full of energy, as running up & down the steep hills of this park tires them out quickly! It's a great big open space for them and they can run like maniacs and you normally don't have to worry about them getting in anybody's way. It's very rare to find the park empty, and my dogs always have other dogs to romp around with. The main obstacle of this park is if there is a baseball game going on in one of the diamonds...
The good thing about this park is that it's pretty accessible by foot - there's a bridge over the DVP that takes you from the east side over to the west side. There is also limited parking is available on Carlton right by Riverdale Farm. -

This is a very nice park, but my rating is in relation to the dog park aspect. The good part is that both the east and west sides of the park are big so that there is lots of space for dogs to run around. There are no fences though, so it's pretty hard to keep all of the dogs contained in any particular area (it's like Winthrow that way). In my experience there are a lot more dogs in the west park than the east park. So make your choice based on whether you and fido are looking for alone time or whether you are looking to socialize.

This is my running haven. The park is never too busy so I can get my plyometrics, stairs, and hills done in peace and quite. The park also connects with the Don Valley pathway and there is a bridge to get across the DVP and river to the other side of the valley.

Love this park! Great track and if that doesn't get you your cardio, the hills will. Absolute best view of the city skyline and when the trees change colour, it is spectacular. You can go over the bridge to the farm, check out the Farmer's Market and explore the cemetery. A great all season park.
