LOL, I'm doing this late review because, I really forgot about this place and I'm bored today.

Someone I know took me here in the early evening one day late last summer and I was surprised that this place even existed. The entrance is way off of the street and you'd never know it was there unless someone told you. It's kind of like stumbling across a cool outdoor speakeasy and being pleasantly surprised.

It is actually a nice little outdoor spot to get a drink. The bartender and waitress on duty that evening were friendly and there were a few other people (black and white) just chilling and enjoying the early evening breeze and the background music. I also happened to have a nice La Gloria cigar with me that I had bought earlier in the day and it was a perfect time for it as well.

As far as the hating comments from some people about how run-down and bad it is -- I don't know about all that. When I was there, like I said,  there were both White and Black folks neatly dressed and behaving like normal, mature adults enjoying themselves. There were also a few boats docked there and I saw several of them cruising in and out of the area while we were there.

I did not at all observe the type of distressed situation I have seen described on Yelp and some other sites, so I'm not sure what is up with why those folks are writing those things (well, actually I do know, but I'm not gonna go there).

The place obviously has many years behind it, but it was tidy and looked in fine shape to me.

I'll have to remember to go back there. It really was/is a chill out-of-the-way spot.

Tip: Have your lady friend bring a big purse so you can do a "sneak" BYOB to "freshen" your own drinks(shhhhh! lol).

Outdoor restaurant/bar right on the river...  decent enough food, nothing exciting.  I hear it used to be a lot better.  It's OK though..  Good place for drinks and sightseeing if nothing else.

131st and halsted, to get to the bar/restaurant go down the little road a block or two.

Went here for NYE and it was great. The price was right ($35) for drinks and appetizers up until 1a.m.  The drinks weren't watered down and the music, plus atmosphere were hot!  Had a ball.  Will be back when I can go out and enjoy the marina.
