I stayed at this B & B for 3 days the week before the Labor Day weekend with my girlfriend. We really enjoyed our stay at Riverbar and were well taken care of by our hosts Peter and Sharmon. The B & B is tucked away in a small country lane about a mile from the freeway (101). The location was very convenient for us since we got to visit the Redwood National Forest, the Lost Coast Highway Ferndale, Eel River Brewing Company, Lost Coast Brewing Company (in Eureka, CA) and several other places. We enjoyed the breakfast at our B & B that included apple pie and farm fresh eggs! On our final day, Peter gave us a tour of the farm which allowed us to take pictures for our album. We loved every moment of our visit and will definitely consider this place if/when we are in Humboldt county.

PS :Another thing of note here is that Peter is a certified massage theraphist.

I am not a seasoned B&Ber, but I couldn't imagine a more pleasant introduction to the B&B world than Riverbar. Peter and Sharmon (both semi-retired Humboldt State professors) are welcoming and generous, but not intrusive. Their home is lovingly maintained without being fussy: modern, clean, simply appointed rooms make for a comfy night's sleep. Waking up to the sound of turkeys, geese, and goats is icing on the cake, if you're into that sort of thing. I loved every minute.

The inn is about a 10 minute drive from Eel River Brewing, which is worth a stop. When my boyfriend and I got back to the inn from our visit to the pub at about 10pm, the entire farmhouse smelled of baking apple pie, which Peter serves for breakfast each morning. I mean, does it get much better than that?

My wife and I stayed at the Riverbar Farm Inn on a recent weekend getaway to the Humboldt redwoods area.  Coming from a cramped apartment in the city, I had some envy of their house right away.  Very cute and old fashioned.  The rooms were cozy, and very clean.  Peter and Sharmon are friendly, but not to the point of being intrusive.  On Sunday, we had a pleasant surprise of snowfall! It was the first time I had seen snow in several years.  It added to the magic of our trip.  There is a crazy rooster there that crowed all day.  He cracked me up.  Should we ever visit the area  in the future, I'd seriously consider staying at this bed and breakfast again.

I*ve  checked they website before stopping by. One of the room that they offer is accept pets. We came here on a week day looking for a place to stay for night. First we meet the owner,he was nice and polite. Told us to came inside the house to talk about the rooms. The women inside was not look so interested in us. She loose complete interest, when we told her about our dog and that she likes to bark. We not got a room...This evening house was looks empty, and it was strange that they were not interested to have guest...

If you're the kind of boy or gal who loves a really comfy (and spotless) room, a yummy breakfast, great hosts and gawking and animals, this is the place for you! You are literally on the farm, which is a healthy distance from everything else, so it's a great retreat. Several charming towns nearby and a good number of microbreweries for you beer lovers. One major warning, though:  the rooster on the farm does crow and does so EARLY. Like 4AM. It wasn't very loud from the room I was in, but bring a pair of earplugs! Even with the rooster situation, I loved my stay and had a great time.

Riverbar is great. We stayed there in October of 2007, which was in time to see pumpkins in the field behind their house. The quiet one lane road is a a pleasant place to take morning stroll while the fog lifts, and local farms give ample opportunities for a budding photographer. The hosts are friendly, and they have GAMES!
