Love this place! GREAT value for money. Just held a corporate event here for 14. We needed a retreat for the team away from SF. RTI exceeded my expectations. Rooms were clean, nicely decorated and felt high-end despite the affordable prices. To top it off- room prices included a hot breakfast.

Conference room rental was cheap... $75 per day! Lunches were great- again- affordable and tasty. Staff was helpful and friendly. Everyone was delighted with the rooms and facility, and the event was a success. Several stayed on over the weekend and enjoyed the rooms at the same corp rate.

Highly recommended as a well appointed clean, affordable place to stay. This was my 5th time at the hotel and I will continue to go back.

GIRLCATIONS stayed in Napa at The River Terrace Inn and absolutely loved it! It is BY FAR one of the best hotels we've stayed at!

If you're looking for a diamond in the rough, with reasonable rates and all 5 star amenities... then look NO FURTHER than The River Terrace Inn in Napa, CA!

Our check-in was seamless, our rooms were OUT OF THIS WORLD AMAZING (DEEP jetted tubs, bath and body works products, terraces, ceiling fans, the most comfortable beds we've ever slept on, friendly staff and the perfect location to walk to downtown Napa, The Wine Train, and many GREAT restaurants).

Having stayed at MANY hotels, we find that the River Terrace Inn HAS IT ALL! Our private terrace, over looking the river, was the perfect way to unwind after a day of wine tasting!!! We opened a bottle from Flora Springs and enjoyed the cool night air and the beauty of the region, while talking and laughing in the comfort of our hotel room and our pajamas!

The full breakfast each morning is the perfect way to refuel for the day and the back patio/lounge area is perfect for a nightcap!

With great rates, an incomparable location, friendly staff, comfy beds, fabulous bath products that highlight the relaxing jetted tub... The River Terrace Inn is IT! Look no further for an amazing Napa hotel!

GIRLCATIONS HIGHLY recommends The River Terrace Inn!

a really nice small hotel with great amenities. when you are in napa most of the day you are going to be out and about. when you are done with your day there is nothing like coming back to a comfy room. our room had a large flat screen tv, dvd player and an ipod speaker hook-up. if you have a room on the back side of the hotel you get a nice view of the river. the front gets a view of a parking lot, but hey, its not that bad.

the staff was super friendly and helpful. the breakfast was basic and perfect. eggs, potatoes, oatmeal with all the fixins', and a huge assortment of breads and pastries. i would highly recommend this hotel and will most likely be booking it for the next time we stay in the valley.

I had read all the reviews for Napa hotels before settling on the River Terrace Inn. I ended up picking this place mainly because for its value, location, and superb reviews, I really didn't think I could be wrong.

And I wasn't, for the most part.

I booked the king suite with jacuzzi and the river view; we were a bit disappointed when we arrived and realized that our river view was obscured by a giant green awning that covered the patio. If you decided to book this room type, I'd avoid room 219, and the one next to it. I think these may be the two rooms that have the obstructed view.

The hotel itself was pretty nice; it was in a really central location, so everything we wanted to do was nearby, or within a very reasonable driving distance.

The room wasn't really anything to write home about, but they were definitely functional and clean. I liked that they had a dvd player in the room, and the hotel offers free dvd rentals at the front desk. That's a nice touch.

I really liked the continental breakfast they serve in the morning. They have everything from scrambled eggs and potatoes to fresh fruit to pastries and a few different kinds of juices and coffees. It was not a bad way to start the morning at all.

The River Terrace Inn is a great value, and it has several great amenities to boot (pool, workout room, friendly staff, breakfast), so I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Napa.

Although, please note that several rooms in the front of the hotel will have breathtaking views of the parking lot. If you don't mind vehicular views, then by all means... Enjoy!

I was not expecting much because I shopped around on http://hotels.com and found spa/hotels in Napa too be pricey. I got a King sized room with Jacuzzi, with a patio overlooking Napa river for $161 (w/taxes) - it was previously about $200 a night.

The main areas like the lobby, pool and bar were OK, nothing truly special (the place is not perfect) but our room was amazing! I think this is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in for this price. The bed was a huge sized memory foam mattress, we had a large flat screen TV, free dvd rentals, the patio was super cute, the jacuzzi bath was romantic and relaxing but a bit small, dual showerheads -OMG- who invented this, how could a shower be so fun?! All the free smelly soaps and lotions were really nice ones from Bath & Body Works - Warm Vanilla Sugar bar soap and Coconut Lime Verbena shampoos and ect (these were above and beyond the standard hotel soaps). This is the most restaurant-like free breakfast I have ever seen in a hotel, scrambled eggs with white cheddar and sun-dried tomatoes, bagels, fresh granola with dried fruits, coffee and ect.

The location was really convenient, only blocks away from the Napa Wine Train, Oxbow Marketplace (sort of like the Ferry Bldg in SF), downtown Napa and various nice restaurants.  But also near a Walmart and KFC (blah)....I will be back nevertheless! I wish I lived here...

A really great hotel. Not perfect, but great.

I went on http://hotels.com and got the rate $130 a night, for a normal, king sized room. I later learned that the room was worth $170.

The rooms were comfy, but the best part was the shower. There are duel shower heads that really make for an incredibly luxurious shower. Oh, and the soaps are fantastic! They give you Bed and Body Works soap. The body soap smelled like vanilla as did the shampoo. I smelled good!

The beds are warm and firm with big fluffy pillows. I really liked that they give you a DVD player in the room, and you can borrow DVDs for free at the front desk.

The breakfast is good. I heard rumors about an omelette bar, but didn't find it. Breakfast consisted of the usual -- bagels, toast, pastries -- but then also eggs, sausage and potatoes. Not a bad way to start your day. And I have to say that the coffee was pretty decent!

I don't know if I will pay $130 again to stay here, but I was very happy with what I got.

Cute little inn within walking distance of the restaurants and bars of Downtown Napa.  And who doesn't need to walk after all the indulging of wine and other goodies?  The inn itself is very pleasant.  We stayed in the king with the riverview and jetted tub at a great price.  Definitely shop around when booking this hotel rather than going through their site.  The room itself was adorable and the bed was incredibly comfy.  Great to nap in between wineries and dinner/bars.  The tub was also a plus, and I tried to take advantage of the tub as much as possible.  We ordered the wine and strawberries upon arrival and those strawberries were sooo delicious!  The riverview was whatever, I wouldn't pay extra for it, only the tub.  The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating.
Side note: If you are staying in for the night they have a ton of DVDs for rent at the front desk.  I didn't use any, but for those that like to stay in...

Great little inn in a very convenient location.  The room looked newly renovated and was furnished nicely.  The room came with all the amenities including a LCD tv plus dvd player (movies are free to borrow at the front desk by the way).

The complimentary American breakfast sealed the deal though.  There's no better way to start a day of wine tasting.  Pastries, bread/toast, cereal, yogurt, eggs, sausage, potatoes, coffee, and juices.  Thank you!  The stay was very enjoyable

We stayed here and got their Valentine's Day Package (about $1,000... thanks bf!) This included an in-room couple's massage,a certificate to their on-site hotel - Cuvee (2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and dessert), and a 'spa basket).

PLUSES

- Very comfy, although firm, Simmons Pillow-Top Mattresses
-Relaxing River-View, depending on your room of course
-Very spacious room
-Big jacuzzi tub
-Relatively decent breakfast included until 1030
-Very central to downtown, less than a mile distance
-Unlimited free DVD rentals (and a good selection)
-Bath and Body Works shower products
-Good warm, working heater
-Free internet
-Workout Room
-Heated Pool
-Yummy wine/beer bar in the lobby with comfy seating and an electric/gas fireplace
-Friendly hotel staff
-Sharper Image Sound Machine
-Flat-Screen TV
-Complimentary Bottle of Wine left for us
-Very clean. Separate vanity from the bathroom
-Soft romantic lighting
-Quiet. I hardly hear neighbors at all.

Minuses:

-Cheapo Scott's Toilet Paper (come-on people, when we are paying this much we expect Charmin!
-The 'spa basket' consisted of lame Target-brand lotion, shower gel, and bath salt that made me break out in hives. It's not a big deal but I don't think they should advertise a 'spa basket' as part of the package if they're giving you Target crap. They could have at least included more bath and body works items!
-It would be nice if they had more winery 'hookups' for free tastings. We found our own online but it would have been a nice perk. :)

In short, we would go back, although maybe on an off-weekend in which it isn't so expensive. :)

My friends and I stayed here for a girls weekend and really enjoyed our stay.  We pricelined this hotel and got it for $100 a night on a big event weekend.  It was the perfect location and was very quaint.  The staff was AWESOME -- so nice and helpful.  The front desk staff and valet were superb and Miguel, the bartender, was so friendly.  The rooms were nice, cozy and comfortable.  Other reviews complained of noise at night or paper thin walls, and this was not an issue for us.  The breakfast was more than just continental as it served eggs, country potatos, a variety of breads, an assortment of juices and coffee, fruit and cereal.

We didn't get a chance to use the gym or swimming pool, but it looked nice from what I could tell.  I didn't see any kids at the hotel, but that could have been due to the time of year.

Overall, this hotel blew my expectations away and I will definitely stay there again.  You should stay there too--- you won't be disappointed.

One of the better deals on http://hotels.com, I booked this place right away.
The main entrance was nice. They have complimentary valet parking or parking yourself to the left.

The main lobby was small, but decent. Staff at valet was always greeting us even though we parked ourselves. The staff at the counter were friendly and very helpful.

There are only 3 floors so the hotel itself wasn't that big.

The fitness center had about 4 machines, treadmill, bike, eliptical and something else with a bench and free weights.

The pool is outdoor, heated at 82 degrees and closes at 10PM. It wasn't very big and no hot tub.

I got their king sized bed, balcony and jetted tub. Our room had an empty fridge for your convenience and one filled with goodies on censor so don't take anything from it unless you want to be charged for it.  They had a decent size flat screen, two chairs on the balcony, a couch, desk and dvds for rent on the front desk.

They had Bath and Body Works soap and lotion, Coconut Lime and Vanilla.

The bathroom was a decent size, with one sink, toilet and a jetted tub. The tub wasn't huge but big enough and worked great after a long day of wine tasting. It also had a dual shower head.

I've read reviews about paper thin walls, but I didn't experience that at all and the hotel was fully booked since we came here during Easter weekend.

Their complementary American breakfast was great! They had breads-toast/bagel to pastries, sausage, eggs with sun dried tomatoes, country style potatoes, cereal, yogurt, fruits and coffee or juice. One morning we enjoyed it on the patio next to their fire pit and one day we took it to our room for breakfast in bed.

The location was great, it was minutes away from downtown Napa, Oxbow, wine train or even Walmart. There's also a free trolley that comes by to take you downtown for free, runs like every 15 minutes I believe.

Great experience, great rooms, great people, this will be the place to be every time I stop into Napa for a weekend.

Great little inn! Big rooms, king sized bed, spacious bathroom, FREE high speed internet access, free DVD rentals... excellent. The room has two refrigerators. BEWARE... DO NOT REMOVE ITEMS FROM THE STOCKED FRIDGE. The food and wine have sensors that detect movement, so your credit card will automatically be charged. There's a separate empty fridge that can be used as storage.

The inn is a few blocks away from downtown Napa, so it's the perfect location to stagger back home after dinner and drinks.

Four stars because the bed was REALLY soft and we had trouble sleeping through the night on it.

Free complimentary breakfast from 7-10:30am.

Service was excellent! Jeff (the GM) and the rest of the staff were great.

First impressions left me disappointed. It took me a day or so to realize, "what the hell is your problem? There's nothing wrong with this place." I think I still secretly wanted to stay in a bed and breakfast, but by the end of our three night stay here I will say that the $100 we saved per night by NOT staying in a B&B was well worth it.

Pros: Rooms are smartly decorated, bathroom is almost luxurious. I enjoyed my first encounter with a double shower head. Room was clean and spacious, exceeding most people's basic requirements. Jacuzzi tub was definitely a plus, as was the balcony overlooking the river. Very close to downtown Napa, about a half hour from St. Helena. Lots of [free] parking. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Good breakfast in the morning with some variety. Free DVD rentals, with lots of selection. Nice TV made movie watching enjoyable. Concierge will provide free wine tasting passports to some wineries, and you get a coupon for free glasses of wine at the restaurant next door.

Cons: TV signal was pretty bad, and there aren't a lot of channels to choose from. Their pillows are very feathery and fluffy. Not a con for me, but maybe a con for some (like the boyfriend, who was glad he brought his own pillow).

Tips: if you want to see rolling green vineyards dotted with wildflowers like you see in the pictures, you need to head north up to St. Helena and stay in that area instead. Check the hotel's website for specials if you're booking through them directly. We stayed 2 nights and got a 3rd night free, which REALLY made the experience well worth it.

I would stay here again and recommend it. Excellent value for the area, in my opinion.

Best Value in Napa.
New, Clean and reasonable - What more can you ask for after a day of drinking.
Free Breakfast, good bed, and free DVDs.
Might have to book 2 nights during peak season, but still the best value going.
Can't go wrong.

I like this hotel. Its very comfortable and cozy and just a 3 minute walk to the boarding station for the Napa Valley Wine Train. I have stayed here twice and have no complaints. The room was very spacious and very clean. The first time around I got a room with the hot tub which was great. The second time around I didnt get the hot tub but the bathroom was still very spacious with a roomy glass shower. The bed is nice and comfortable and the sound machines are fun to have although the heartbeat option freaks me out a little LOL.

Complimentary DVDs are offered for check out at the front desk and a great complimentary breakfast is served in the morning. Restaurant Cuvee is a less than a minute walk so if you are planning a romantic Napa getaway and dont really want to drive around (assuming you will be drinking), then this is a great place in a great location with a very hospitable staff.

After a long stressful couple of weeks all you wanna do is spend time with good friends and not have to do anything. The River Terrace Inn made this possible. Just a couple weeks ago my best friend and I decided it was time for a girls weekend away from all the city fog and we thought Napa was the perfect place. I searched through so many hotels and every time, my eyes kept coming back to this one. You walk in to a nicely decorated relaxing lobby and if you continue walking straight back your instantly bathed in sunlight on there lovely deck where you can enjoy wine and relaxation. Our room was on the first floor which normally I try to avoid but when your bedroom door opens right up to the entrance to the pool how can you turn that down? Speaking of the pool, talk about relaxing, not to many people use it so its usually nice and quiet, perfect for sun bathing and splashing around after a long day of spa treatments! There is a great room service menu (but with all the amazing food in napa who stays in their room) and an smaller 24hr menu. The beds were like falling down into a dream they were so comfortable and the little balcony off the room gave us a great place for coffee and chatting in the mornings. All that said lets get to the best part of the rooms....THE SHOWERS!!!!! I travel a lot and can I just say these have got to be the best showers I have ever had. Two shower heads give amazing water pressure, they are roomy showers and the bathroom is roomy and extremely clean!
I am a very picky person when it comes to where I stay when I wanna spoil myself and this was  a perfect choice. The staff was helpful and friendly, the price was great and the location is amazing! I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Napa.

My sisters and I stayed here for my sister's 21st birthday and it was a very comfortable and relaxing stay.

Room are clean and neatly decorated. The bathroom is very nice and includes bath and body works products. The beds however are the most comfortable thing I ever slept in!! After coming back from a long day of wine tasting, their beds are the best things to nap on! =)

Front desk was very helpful to us! They didn't mind one bit that we called them multiple times for bath products that we forgot. Just a tip, don't bother paying their crazy mini-bar price for a bottle of water. Concierge will deliver complimentary bottle water right to you.

The hotel's decor has a nice homey feel to it, but it is very simple. So don't expect to be taking many memory photos around the hotel. Also, if you are planning to stay in a room that includes two full size beds you won't have a "river" view..just simply a view of the fabulous parking lot.

After reading the reviews on yelp, the bf and I decided to stay here on our last visit to Napa. While not a modern, sleek hotel like the Westin being built next door, River Terrace Inn was cozy, comfortable, and clean. Our room came with a nice jetted spa tub, separate seating area, and balcony overlooking the river. Some other nice amenities included free DVD rentals at the front desk and complimentary internet access and breakfast.

The hotel is conveniently located in downtown Napa, close to Copia and a couple restaurants, but is still a good 15-20 minute drive from most of the popular Napa restaurants and wineries. However, given the price, amenities, and overall atmosphere of this hotel, I would definitely recommend this hotel for a casual weekend in Napa.

"Let's go to Napa," my sweetie says, "but I don't want to stay in a B&B because I don't wanna talk to anyone at breakfast."

Having something of a misanthropic streak myself, as well as an aversion to floral patterns and anything that resembles my granny's attic, I scour the internets for suggestions.

Lo and behold, Yelp led me to the River Terrace Inn, and I've gotta say, I was pretty damn happy with this place.

Yeah yeah yeah, it's in downtown Napa so you got your Wal-Mart and KFC and taco trucks nearby. And the exterior wasn't the MOST glamorous, but it wasn't as bad as some folks make it sound.

Where the River Terrace Inn excels is where it really matters: the ROOMS! They were large, super clean, and tasteful (albeit in a corporate kinda way). The bed was HUGE and comfy, and the bathroom was dope! Jacuzzi tub and dual shower heads made bathtime funtime!

I also liked the flat screen TV and DVD player. The River Terrace has a complimentary DVD lending library, and they have a good selection too, with something for everyone.

We slept in too late to have the complimentary breakfast, but I thought it was a nice touch and another way in which the River Terrace provides excellent value for money.

Staff was laid-back, funny, and helpful too.

If you, like me, detest typical frumpy b&b decor and don't feel like chatting with strangers over your morning coffee, I definitely recommend this spot. For the money, it's an excellent choice.

Wow. I wasn't sure what to expect with this place, but I was pleasantly surprised and almost can't wait to go back!

Scuba Steve was in charge of booking, and made sure we had a junior suite (at 6'4", he HAS to have a king bed). The hotel on the outside is nice, but not "impressive". However we were greeted by a very friendly and helpful bellman, and once going inside I was happy to see a very nice inner decor with lots of big comfy chairs in the lobby. There's a big, dark wood bar in the back of the lobby area that opens to a patio with outdoor seating. Scuba Steve and I had lunch there, out in the sun...it was really nice, and the food wasn't half-bad either. There's also a little eating area on the inside off the lobby where they serve breakfast every morning (included in your room price). The breakfast includes coffee, tea, juices (3 kinds!), eggs and potatoes, all kinds of breads, muffins, danish, bagels, mozzarella w/ tomatoes, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, and cheese.

Our room was also quite nice- big jacuzzi tub and shower, huge comfortable king bed, little sitting area with sofa and coffee table, and a darling little balcony that opened up to a view of the river. We had plans to sit out there and drink wine one night, but unfortunately never got around to it. There was also a great little vanity area, as well as a mini bar and wine in the room available to purchase.

All in all, a GREAT bargain for the money- we recommend it to EVERYONE and can't wait to go back!

I loved the Valentine's package deal we got for this hotel.

For $312 including tax, we got
- a room with a river view balcony
- a very nice bottle of wine and chocolate covered strawberries on arrival
- dinner for two at neighboring restaurant Cuvee (excluding booze and tip, bien sur)
- breakfast buffet

It was only our second overnight date since my elder daughter was born almost 6 years ago, and we enjoyed it very much.

Some of the things we really liked:
- Super friendly and helpful staff
- Flatscreen TV with DVD player and lots of on demand options
- Sound soother
- Coffee pot and fridge in the room, plus mini bar
- Free internet access, via both wireless and ethernet cable
- Good hot water pressure in the shower
- The breakfast buffet was yummy... a scramble with cheese, scallions and sundried tomatoes.  Delicious fresh, warm croissants.  Yummy home fries.  Lots of fresh fruit, cereal and pastry options.  Everything freshly replenished throughout the morning, even for us late risers.

Our only small disappointments:
- The balcony was rather cramped
- Buffet... no BACON!

The service was first rate, I got to my room and I had my heart set on a bath and found a shower. I called the front desk to ask if they could change me and by the time I walked down to the desk they just passed me the room key card.

The room was nicely appointed with deep copper colors and a huge flat screen TV. It had a desk with a DSL port which was very speedy for FREE.  I sat on the couch to read some but had to move to bed because there was no decent light.

The morning breakfast is quite good and lots of variety. Scrambled eggs, house fries, fresh fruit and lots of cereals and breads.

Don't know how so many folks think 185 bucks is moderately priced. Only saved 10 bucks with  AAA.

gotta read my review on their restaurant Cuvee though

Thanks to you yelpers, I ultimately chose to stay at River Terrace Inn with my girlfriends. Although it is a bit on the outskirts of Napa, I must say, THIS HOTEL IS WONDERFUL!

-SPACIOUS ROOM: we had the superior oversized room with jacuzzi and river view for $152.10. It had a king size bed (slept 4 of us!) and a great flat screen tv. VERY VERY CLEAN.
- complimentary DVD RENTALS: we all chose to stay in one night and
let me tell you, they have an extensive dvd library and is quite updated.
-COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST: delicious! not you typical expired mini cereals or dry pastries. Granola, fruits, eggs with sundried tomatos, grilled potatos, cheeses, pastries, fruit juices, I could go on for a while.
-WONDERFUL STAFF: housekeeping was extremely courteous and helpful when I needed towels and sheets late in the night. Addtionally, the front desk was always helpful. When I was charged the wrong rate, they adjusted it for me, no qualms!

OVERALL, if you want a great place to stay in Napa, for a great price, River Terrace Inn is the place! I  highly recommend River Terrace and would definately come back to this hotel again!

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend getaway in April.  We stayed in a room with a private jet tub, and enjoyed relaxing in it in the evening.  The room was clean and spacious.  There are DVD available for rent (free of charge) at the front desk which we made use of as well.   The beds were very comfortable (like the beds at the westin).  Breakfast was delicious and there is a good variety of bread, hot food (eggs, sausages), fresh fruit, coffee and juice.  My husband and I drove out to the wineries during the day and as such, we did not really take advantage of the location and the attractions that were within walking distance such as the Napa wine train.  We will definitely stay here again.    I would recommend this to couples and families.  It is good value for the rate.

I was planning to priceline it, but just to be sure I got it, I booked it via their website.  The rooms are pricey, but I wanted a place to stay to surprise my boyfriend for his birthday.

Facilities are nice and spacious.  Nothing super shee shee, but very cool.  At check in, they gave us a coupon to get 2 free glasses of wine at Cuvee the restaurant on the other side of their parking lot.  That was a pleasant surprise along with the free breakfast.  Clearly I didn't read the previous reviews, so I was happy.

Room is nice, but their work desk is not great, so don't go their to work, go their to relax.  :)

Breakfast is a decent selection.  Wine at Cuvee introduced me to a great looking restaurant that I would totally go back too.

We got this hotel after priceline'ing and were pleasantly surprised. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the service and amenities make up for it.

1. Free breakfast. For a free meal it was pretty decent and their cup of OJ was not half bad.
2. The room literally has everything you would need. Fridge, free internet, flat screen and dvd player (including a huge dvd collection at the front desk), jetted tub, and my gf's personal fav, separate vanity area a part from the bathroom.
3.Great location, minutes from downtown Napa and close to the main highway.
4. We got a room upgrade which was a bonus.
5. Plenty of self park space right next to the entrance.

It's really difficult to find something to complain about. Maybe next time we go there we'll look around for some flaws.

The River Terrace Inn is a great hotel option when visiting wine country on a budget.  The rooms are nice, inexpensive, and the hotel is centrally located.  They also have a complimentary breakfast out on the river.

The thing that impressed me the most is that the maid service actually turned in one of my dress shirts that I left in the closet.  This is the only time I have ever had that happen.  Great customer service.

My room at the River Terrace Inn was gorgeous.  Very high end looking, with warm tones.  I had a River View Terrace Room on the second floor.  Next time, I think I'll lobby for a third floor room.  The room had a yummy, yummy, yummy King sized bed.  The bathroom looked like a smaller version of what I have gotten at the SF Four Seasons.  The Jacuzzi tub was an added plus.  Sitting in it while sipping Rombauer Chardonnay was quite luxe indeed!

The view of the river is nice but it is a very lazy river, at least, in mid March.  You can walk faster than this river runs.  But, I am sure my view beat that of the other side of the building which faces the parking lot.  The balcony I had was totally private.  No peek-a-boo from the neighbors!  There are wood walls up, between each balcony, ensuring privacy,

The bathroom toiletries were super yummy smelling.  In the AM, they have a "buffet breakfast."  It is basically your typical hotel "Continenal Breakfast" plus eggs & potatoes.  The eggs were of that giant batch kind but were not bad and the potatoes were CRAZY YUMMY.  I coulda eaten the whole supply.  The coffee sucked but the OJ was OK.

My only gripe was that when I checked in there was no bellman service to help me up to my room.

Overall, it is a super great deal to stay here, You are moments away from Downtown Napa and the outlet center and a short drive from the wineries.

All less than an hour from SF!!

My and boyfriend and I just stayed this past weekend and loved it! We were greeted by friendly staff members. The room was comfy with a king size bed, big jacuzzi tub, and a flat screen with free DVD rentals. The hotel served complimentary breakfast buffet that includes delicious bagles, toast, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, sausage links, fresh fruits, coffee, and juice. Wouldn't mind staying here again.

My husband and I stayed here two years ago (April 2005) for my husband's birthday. I purchased the "Wine and Dine on the Rail" package which included a large room, a bottle of champagne, a free breakfast at the hotel, and tickets to the Napa Valley Wine Train (which I reviewed on Yelp separately).

I really, really liked the laid back feel of this place - not too stuffy, yet sophisticated and classy. I agree with Pirate that it's not the most swanky place by California standards, but for people working on a limited budget, this is a great getaway. I have yet to try out the jacuzzi rooms, but because they're way more affordable than most of Napa's other inns and resorts, I will definitely be coming back.

The first thing I notice about all hotel rooms is the cleanliness and maintenance of them. If anything looks gross or unkempt, I immediately try and get another room somewhere else. Our room was immaculately clean and decorated. It met my high OCD standards and that's what made me happy.

The whole package deal was great (I think it was about $250 for one night and all of the things I mentioned above) and I will definitely be coming back here again (hopefully this year!).

You know you're in wine country when the room service menu includes a trio of bruschetta and a platter of local cheeses and meats.

We arrived at the River Terrace Inn at night and were immediately greeted by the friendly staff.  Even though they were busy with guests for a wedding, they took their time with us and were even happy to suggest "locals" favorite wineries.

We were given a corner room on the top floor.  The king sized bed with pillow top and down feather pillows was very comfortable.  The room even included a white noise sound soother!  The bathroom, with granite sink table and DOUBLE HEADED shower, had all the amenities to make us feel like we were being pampered.  Even the complimentary shampoos smelled heavenly.

The complimentary breakfast was extensive!  Bagels, lox, scrambled eggs with mushrooms and sundried tomatoes, and even a cheese platter were offered.  There was also cinnamon hazelnut creamer for my coffee!  Now, that's the way to start the day off right!

Nice hotel. Great, not really/ They do have daily continental breakfast, complimentary of course. The views are nice, alongside a river. They are centrally located near virtually everything.
The downside is: Beer and wine only. No alcohol. Their menu is limited. And the rooms aren't too big.
Service is great.

This is a great place to stay if you plan on doing a lot of activities in downtown Napa.  It has an excellent location and the trolley stops just a few steps from the entrance. The trolley has several stops including Copia and the Premium Outlets. Your stay also comes with a complimentary breakfast which includes a few hot selections. I think the last time we stayed they served eggs, potatoes, sausage and bacon along with the usual muffins and pastries.  We usually come down, fill our plates, and take it back to our room.

Very nice rooms. Very friendly staff. Complimentary breakfast, but it wasn't very good. They have only eggs for "real" food, and they go FAST! In fact, we tried to eat there the first morning and went somewhere else because it just wasn't very good. They have a large complimentary DVD library that's free.

The hotel is really nice though, especially for the price. One downside is that the hotel is currently under construction. They start early in the morning and end late at night, so it's a little disturbing. Not terribly loud, but something you should know. However, I think prices are discounted at the moment because of the construction. It will most likely be going on for a while because they are building a WHOLE new section.

Not in downtown Napa, but VERY close and worth the distance for the price.

This is a really great find in Napa, if you are looking for a romantic and luxurious place to stay without breaking the bank.  Personally, I am not a fan of B and Bs because I don't like it when I pay $250 a night for a room that smells like my grandma and has a teeny tiny bathroom.  Also I hate having to chit chat it up with the oldsters at breakfast as me and my bf are usually the youngest guests.

Finally, a great alternative in Napa, we paid around $179 a night on the weekend for a great room overlooking the river with a jacuzzi spa tub.  The sheets and bed were super comfortable and the room was the perfect size.  Staff was amazingly cheerful, friendly, and attentive.  The bar downstairs was really cute and the outside fire pit area is a great place to relax with a glass of wine before heading out to dinner.

The breakfast was really killer, loads of pastries, eggs, potatoes, and some of the tastiest homemade granola and dried fruits I have ever had.  Great to load up your stomach before heading out to taste wine all day.

All in all this has been one of my most favorite places to stay in Napa, it is centrally located, great value, and still leaves you feeling pampered.  I will definitely be back to stay here and telling all my friends about it. Hey with all the cash you save you can buy  a couple extra bottles of wine and you won't leave feeling like you just spent the night in your grandma's bedroom.

This hotel has become a favorite spot to stay at whenever we visit wine country. It's located in downtown Napa and close to the 29 fwy for an easy route towards all the amazing wineries. The rooms are large, spacious, extremely comfortable king sized beds, and large bathrooms with an enclosed glass shower and two shower heads.
We paid about $200 per night which also included their daily breakfast and what a breakfast it was (eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, mozzarella cheese ball with cherry tomatoes, bagels with lox and cream cheese, pastries, coffee, and different juices). You can also have your meal or relax in the back seating area next to the fire pit to keep you warm. The staff was friendly, attentive, and were always available to answer questions and recommend dinner spots.
