3 reviews for River Canyon Lodge
We have been staying at River Canyon Lodge three or four times a year for about four years. It's nothing fancy, but clean, great staff and inexpensive. Most of all, it's super convenient. At the end of the day, you can just park your car and walk to everything.
There's a wide range of rooms in the motel, which is a former MicroTel Inn. The small rooms are really small. But the regular guest rooms and the kitchenette units are really fabulous.
We've never had a bad experience. But you have to come in the right frame of mind. This is not a "lodge." This is a basic motel that has lodge in its name. Get over that and you'll be fine.
It's super convenient to Main Street. And the beauty is that it's a half-block off so you don't get any traffic going by all night.
Our experience is that you'll get the best price booking on Expedia, etc. We have never gotten the best price on the hotel's Web site.
Highly recommend!
We stayed here two nights and they didn't have breakfast, boo! The swimming pool and huge hot tub, made it worth the trip. The only time I got in the pool my entire trip and it was worth it. The hot tub is for 12 people. The room was nice and so was the lobby. Great location close to everything, town park nearby. If I'm going to pay a lot for a room I want my free breakfast. This was the only place we stayed that didn't have breakfast.
We got kicked out of bed at midnight. There was a lame sounding beep, which turned out to be a smoke detector. By the time we figured we'd investigate, if it was serious, I wouldn't be writing this! Boo hoo for poor fire safety.
Anyway, it's modern enough, and neat, but the bed did squeak like a injured mouse (that's a lot). So pick somewhere else if you wanna get busy.
