Review from Puja L.
My view of the whole experience may be a bit skewed, since we didn't actually pay for our room...but we had a wonderful stay here. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful and we found the building charming and nicely situated. It was out of the way, but still centrally located. I do agree that the views are not all that great, though. (and traffic in Georgetown is always terrible)
The other thing I have to second is that I also found the hotel to have very thin walls. You could very clearly hear the showers running in other rooms and people knocking on doors. I mentioned this on my guest survey and they offered to take something off my bill, until they realized I wasn't paying anything at all :)
The bar area was quite nice and comfortable because it made us feel like we were "out" even though we were just in our hotel. The food at the hosted dinner we attended was really delicious and the service was wonderful.
Left me feeling happy and well looked after, but I do think there are definitely some places where this hotel is lacking. -

Four seasons blows the ritz away. The ritz does not have a car service, the mattresses are weak and cheap and the bath amenities are worse than walmart! would not return

stayed a couple of nights at this quiet, dependable, boutique hotel tucked into a small georgetown side street..
My guest room provided
-no view except for the expressway outside my window...yet virtually no traffic noise inside the room.
-single lounge chair without so much as an ottoman.
-desk and chair
+large and fine bathroom with separate shower & bath, phone, and TV audio
+large HDTV with a fine surround audio system.
Limited Facilities
-small, simple workout room (no pool)
-lobby that also serves as a active bar-lounge, leaving hotel guests with no quiet area outside of their guest room.
-general lack of interior and exterior common areas. -

Fabulous location, fabulous food & fabulous service! Will be staying again next visit to DC. Take the trolly around town for tour. It's covered in case is rains & is a live person not a recording. Eat at bangkok joes on the river front & take the sunset boat ride to Old Alexandra town. Love this city. All 17 smithsonian museums are free. We particularly enjoyed the botanical gardens orchids & the pandas at the zoo!

I've come to the Ritz for drinks before several events and nights out in Georgetown. The hotel is very impressive and the service is spot on. Cocktails prices are on par with the rest of the town and you don't get the mark up like you would at the W or other high end establishments in town.
The cheeseboard is good if you're looking to have a nice snack before heading out - just the right amount to put something in your stomach without filling you up to the point of being uncomfortable when you have a drink. A great diamond tucked away on South Street. -

Horrible, horrible customer service. After my stay ended, the hotel charged me for items I did not consume from the minibar. It only amounted to about $35, but 3 phone calls to customer service and over an hour of my time later - we had not arrived at a solution. In addition, the hotel is nothing special and I would never pay that much money to stay here. I would expect much better customer service at such a high priced hotel!

I have not experienced many luxury spas, but the petite spa at the Georgetown Ritz Carlton was amazing. First things first - if you have a spa treatment, you get free valet parking! Total bonus when you're scrambling to get there in DC traffic.
The attendant said the place is pretty empty Monday - Thursday and I definitely had the place to myself. The robe was so plush that I considered (and still do) buying one for home. The locker room is small, but still has all of the amenities that you expect at a Ritz. Huge showers, sauna, steam room, shower shoes, mouthwash, qtips, shavers, etc.
The massage was done by Dana - she was great. I had MANY stress knots in my neck and upper back and she really focused on them and worked through them. She had very good bedside manor and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. I loved the hot towels they put on my feet and then the large hot towel thing (i couldn't see it, but it felt wonderful) they put on my back.
The cost of a 50 minute massage is $120 and honestly worth every penny. I am going for the 80 minute $160 massage next time - I didn't want it to be over! It was a total treat and I would recommend this to anyone in need of a little relaxation after a stressful day at work.....or day of shopping. It was private, comfortable, clean, convenient, accommodating, etc. I called Monday afternoon and got an appointment for Tuesday at 6:30. I wish I got there at 6pm, so I had time before and afterwards to hang out in the steam room/sauna. They close at 8pm. -

The hotel used to be an incinerator. Now it's just hot.
(I know, that was cheap)
Except that it is pretty hot. Exposed brick, modern decor, really nice robes that I contemplate stealing., Bulgari shampoo, and many more amenities.
No pool though, but I won't let that lower my rating.
Perfect location in Georgetown, just below M Street. -

Conducted a business meeting at the Ritz-Carlton Georgetown today and it was hands down the perfect place. Service is spot on the very definition of understated luxury. The smokestack room is super cool, dramatic, and a fun ice breaker for a group of 8-10.
For lunch, we snuck upstairs and had amazing food. It may be hard to find, but as you would expect, the Ritz is easily five stars. -

Funny that I live next door and never came down to the lobby bar for drinks. This place has a great vibe if you don't mind paying the price for having a few drinks while people watching. Make sure you get a spot by the fireplace and get cozy with good company.

The spa here is a spot of calm amid the bustle of Georgetown... the last time I was here, I didn't see a single other patron and seemed to have the place all to myself. The deep tissue massage I had was so good I almost fell asleep... they practically had to peel me off the table once it was over. I can't wait to go back!
The only problem is that my massage was so good, every other one pales in comparison! -

Why did it take me 3 years to find this hidden gem?! My husband and I stopped by for a drink and a bite after an early evening on M Street. I indulged in the unlimited cheese plate ($12), my husband treated himself to the sliders ($7 - half off until 6:30pm), and we both had a $3 beer. And then we stuck around for the complimentary s'mores, which are a delicious take on the campfire classic that is more like chocolate- and marshmallow-stuffed french toast. Everything was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the ambiance was delightful. I'll definitely be back!

We have been making frequent trips to D.C. since last Fall because our daughter attends school here. Started w/ Georgetown Inn. Stayed there 3-4 times and it was a DUMP. Didn't realize there was a Ritz Carlton nearby, but were so pleased when we discovered it. We've stayed there twice. Service is excellent. Food at the restaurant is great. Rooms are spacious, clean and lovely. So glad we found this hidden gem. Won't stay anywhere else while our daughter is at college in D.C. It is a bit pricey, but well worth the extra money after staying at the Georgetown Inn (filthy, horrible service, I could go on and on). Ritz does offer room discounts for AAA members and Georgetown University families.

It was like the owners of the Ritz-Carlton said, "hmmm we have a couple extra rooms here in the basement, let's throw in a spa! "
It's hard to find, located underground and literally at the end of a hallway by the gym. The waiting area is teeny tiny and there's just some magazines and chilled water.
Massages and the private rooms are really nice, but the changing area is very small. I think there are two showers and one sauna in the locker room.
It's good if it's convenient for you as a hotel guest, but for the price, I have to believe there are better options out there for DC-ers. -

Beautiful Lobby, terrible service. We were there for a lunch meeting with a client. The bar said they open at 2:30pm ok, there were five occupied tables, only one got served. The manager was MIA. Dirty glasses from the previous night on the window ledge. Come on Ritz....

I really want to give it more stars because the staff is, for the most part, pretty great, and the architecture of the lobby is gorgeous. But for a luxury hotel, the walls are pretty thin. I can hear the t.v. in the next room and endless door slamming through the night. I apologize for sounding bourgeois but, one night no one showed up for turn-down service (feel free to mentally throw tomatoes at me). The bathroom is very pretty with a separate bath, shower and toilet but there wasn't much horizontal space to put your clothing or towels. The rooms are not huge, but a comfortable size. I slept like a baby in the firm and fluffy bed. The location is a big plus. You are just steps away from everything in Georgetown. The security is a little worrisome. In order to get to the rooms, you exit the main building where the lobby, restaurant, and bar are, and walk across a small courtyard. But the entrance to the rooms is not locked and there is a walkway off to the side of the courtyard leading to the street. Strange. All in all, pretty but lacking in some key amenities.
