This is another place I visit every year. Perfect for a rainy or overcast day.

The tickets are worth every penny, it is an unreal experience being this close to sharks, and being able to touch sting rays, crabs, and urchins!

The whole place is very well lit. I love the set up, especially moving sidewalks - really helps to reduce crowding! I usually end up walking through twice, to see if I missed anything (crazy, I know).

The gift shop is pretty cool, but spendy. There are a few food options, such as Dippin Dots, but to be honest, there is something about the Aquarium smell that doesn't make me hungry. I just wait until I am back outside at Broadway at the Beach to grab some food.

This was the best attraction by far that we encountered during our Myrtle Beach visit.

Aside from the infamous walkway tank, the Ray Bay and Rainbow Reef were mesmerizing. I could spend hours just looking at all the sea creatures that are here.

Sure, it's a tiny bit pricey. But the best idea is to probably get a Ripley's combo tickets package, as others have mentioned, to get a bit more bang for your buck by the end of your trip..

My boyfriend had a blast here, and so did I.  The gift shop has good prices for what's there (not as overpriced as I expected) and my bf got a t shirt and hat combo for about $17 if I remember correctly.  The slow-moving walkway/tunnel with the tanks above you is really awesome.  I had never seen the underside of sharks before and I was kind of creeped out.

Also cool: "petting" stations for the horseshoe crabs and stingrays.

Overall: a successful trip.

Tam, tam, tam, tam...who can forget the creepy Jaws soundtrack?! If you're fascinated by sharks but wanna keep your rear safe Ripley's Aquarium it's your place. Left and right, front and back and even above your head there are sharks, sharks and more sharks (no great whites unfortunately). Don't despair other 12-15 and even the 18 feet saw fish cuties just dying to say Hello!
Here is video I shot last month: http://www.youtube.com...

Best things to see and do at the Aquarium (besides the sharks of course):

1. Live dive and feeding shows, especially at the stingray tank (2nd floor). Kids go nuts petting the rays. I've been known to shove some of them just to get a better photos. No kids have been harmed while taking the shots...

2. Changing exhibit next to the Piranha tank (most likely the lamest Piranha in the Universe...they do nothing but stare back at you!). Currently they have an AWESOMELY fun Pirates Exhibit.
Get up close and personal with Blackbeard, Edward Lowe (known to chop off the tongues of his enemies), Capt Morgan and more.

More details and photos here: http://shoutaboutcarol...

3. Toddlers love the humongous fish and stingray tanks (ground floor). My little one learn to say "fish" before "da-da" ("ma-ma" had no contest :-))

4. All kids have fun climbing on the shrimp boat display and looking for hidden treasures.

5. Taking pictures with the GIANT clam shell - this is a new stint at the Aquarium, a great and FREE alternative to the commercial photo gig

All in all it worth the $20 ticket price ($10 for children 6 to 11 years old and $4 for children 2 to 5).  As pointed in previous reviews you can get combo tickets to multiple Ripley attractions inside Broadway at the Beach.

Enjoy!

Our family splurged on combo passes for the aquarium, museum, 3-D adventure ride, hall of mirrors and haunted house.  The aquarium is Ripley's top show case for their family themed attractions in Myrtle Beach.  There were lots of families enjoying the aquarium.  I really like the circular motion people mover that allowed tourists to take their time to wonder at the sea life and take videos and pictures.

There's also an eating area with cafeteria that serves the usual fast food fare of hot dogs, fries and soft drinks.  I picked up aquarium t-shirts for my family of 4 for about $21 -- they were on clearance.

This is a very nice aquarium that the kids enjoy....plus after walking around in the heat all day it's nice to enjoy the air conditioning! They have a snack bar but we've never ate there.

Out of the four Ripley's attractions in Myrtle Beach, this one is most deserving of your time.  When entering the building, a woman will take your picture, then charge you close to $350,000 to take it home with you.  But you know what?  It's worth it.

The facility consists of several small aquariums, a moving sidewalk around a large aquarium, an area with a live diver, a touch tank full of stingrays, and an exhibit that rotates each month, which usually has nothing to do with fish.  On my trip, it was the Titanic.  Recently, it has been about the planet Mars.

The moving sidewalk was my favorite part.  Everybody gets a good, slow view of all of the fish, and most importantly, the sharks.  It was interesting to see these large, toothy douche bags swimming around the tank, looking right in your face.

The stingray touch tank would have been cool, but stingrays are smart, and they love to mess with you.  I would reach my hand into the water, a stingray would near, then turn at the last second, just  far enough away so that I could not touch him.  I didn't get to cop a feel.  Not one bit.  Well, after looking around the tanks, we strolled into the gift shop, and we bought that picture of ourselves.  The picture is still financed, 2 years later.  Money comes and goes, but that picture will last forever.  Well, we saw just about everything and were out of there in a little over an hour, without rushing.

I have to say Thank you to Ripley's, for extending a special military discount to active duty members and their families.  This on going military special is only $5 per person, and allows access to all 4 Ripley's Myrtle Beach attractions, including the aquarium.  At that price, you can't go wrong.

I got to pet a stingray from its head all the way to the end of its body - if that doesn't automatically boost this place into the five star category, I don't know what will.

The place is actually rather small for being such a popular attraction, but its size is actually a good thing - since there is less to get through, I found myself taking longer at each exhibit, to fully appreciate the animals that I was looking at.

The price is around $17 per person, but you can get combo deals if you plan on going into any of the other three Ripley's attractions in Myrtle Beach. Since we planned on going into the Believe it or not! Museum as well, we took advantage of the bargain.

The place is interesting, interactive, filled with color and amazing animals, and the building itself is a work of art - definitely a must visit for any trip to Myrtle Beach...Oh, and their souvenirs are AWESOME!

Three magnets and a key chain - I have an obsession...

This place is has something for all ages. Whether you're a kid, a teen, an adult or a grey-beard, this place is fun for all ages. They have bat rays that you can pet, a shark show, a tour through different aquariums where you can see all kinds of exotic things from jellyfish to sharks. If you're in the area, give this place a whirl.

i loved it. but i love all aquariums. i can spend all day in one and that is exactly what i did. to the point where my husband was trying to propose during the sunset on the beach and i didnt know but he asked me if i was ready to leave and i said no that i wanted to see the feeding show. he still asked me that night it was just dark outside. you can pet horseshoe crabs and urchins and such as well as stingrays which was my favorite. they will come and eat food out of your hands. huge wall of water with thousands of fish. shark tank too. great for families. and with active duty military id you get the aquarium, believe it or not musuem, 4d theatre and haunted house for 7$.
