This is a nice motel within short walking distance of the beach. Our family stayed there over Father's Day weekend. There is a barbecue area near the pool, and our rooms had a small kitchenette with a microwave, mini fridge and sink. They provide utensils, plates, bowls, knives, etc, so that you can make some basic meals there.
Our suite had a small bedroom and a living room/kitchen area. A sofa and extra fold out cot gave us plenty of options to accommodate our family.
The breakfast provided is Continental-plus. There were a variety of breads you could toast, fruit, two types of cereal, juice, coffee, hot chocolate, hard boiled eggs and pastries.
All-in-all, not a bad place to stay.
The Rio Sands is a nice little motel about a block away from the beach.
I've stayed at the Rio Sands a couple times now and have been happy with their service.
They were very accommodating to our family and guests from all over the country coming to Aptos for a wedding. They allowed us to use their back garden and barbeque area for a private party.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. They offer a large free breakfast each morning. They have a well-kept pool and spa.
