Rigoberto's is a safe haven for me after getting a bad meal at other restaurants. It's as if my body senses that the previous meal was bad BECAUSE it lacked nutritional value. Case in point, Highland Stillhouse served me a meal made to look voluminous from grease and batter while completely lacking in fish as well as god forbid, chips.
Promptly at 4 AM, I am awakened by hunger and must once again seek solace at Rigoberto's.
Trust me, after coming here for many years I know what the hell I'm talking about. The day crew needs to get trained by the late nite crew. Pardon the bad pun but the difference is, well, night and day.
The food you get After 2 AM is fresh and not sodium laden. Perhaps this is because they do all their major cooking in the wee hours when there are few customers and plenty of down time.
At any rate this is the best late-nite option for me. I'd like to know a few more but I really doubt they will come close to challenging it.

Alright I gotta let you know as I was preparing to move from San Diego to the Portland area I was having withdrawal and fear of no decent tacos or burriitos like I was used to eating whenever I felt the urge...damn was I mistakin! Rigobertos is a small taco chain in San Diego (there was one near my house!) and they have this random restaurant in Milwaukie OR! Great tacos and burritos. You gotta try the carne asada fries! This palce is the shit and its open 24/7! If you have lived in SoCal you know what a real Mexican meal should taste like and this is it!
This place is really good and cheap. The guacamole is good and comes on a lot of stuff included. I recommend the carne asada tacos or the veggie burrito.
