Such a cute place, with very yummy/creative drinks! Gets pretty crowded at night and during happy hour...but if you can handle it, or get there early, its a great place!

My only request would be for them to add more music!! That would be fun!!

This place is not a joint  you'd find Yo Sammity Sam in.

You may think it when you hear people describe it as a Texas theme. Yes it's a Texas theme, but with a lot more class unlike our friend Yo Sammity Sam. To sum it up this places surrounds you with dark wood in many different textures creating a very warm environment. With that and a very extensive menu of mixed drinks which are unique, fresh, and flavorful you'll be celebrating like Yo Sammity Sam. One downfall to the unique drinks is that they have to be mixed which takes forever to order a drink.  So when you go order from the bar order two and if you order from the waitress order your next drink when she delivers.

The new spot to hit up.

Nice, rustic place with raw wood and wine cask decor. The lighting is pretty dim if it's dark outside, so be sure to eat your carrots before you come in.

Drinks are creative and well-mixed by friendly, if sometimes overworked, bartenders. Expect to pay $8-15 for cocktails, but know that they're quite good.

Speakeasy meets loggers revenge and big thunder mountain railroad--who can't love that in a bar? 4.5 stars

Cost to worth it rating: 3

Highlights:
- Ambiance: as noted above, pretty unique and fun
- Special vodka berry basil drink: nice balance of tart and just a bit of sweet
- Coke: poured out of an individual glass bottle old school style
- Multiple bars: longer one in the front and smaller one in the back
- Punch bowl drink: looks super fun to get on a party night with a few friends
- Music: melllow cool non-top 40 mix
- Door guy: dressed all dapper and was polite

Lowlights:
- Bit warm with the small space and limited ventilation

Really enjoyed this unique spot on the way between union square and north beach and will be back.

Holy rising hemlines, Batman!  238 reviews for a place that's been open for less than a year?  Goes to show that foodies in this town are being replaced by drinkies.  I go both ways, so I'm coolio with whatever.  And yes, I do occasionally still say "coolio."  Deal with it, aight?

Rickhouse presents the drinker with a very clear trade off: the place is going to be crowded, the service is going to be okay at best, and the prices are going to be high, but the drinks are going to be well-made and inventive.  Based on that simple yet extremely accurate summary, you can figure out whether you're interested or not.

Think of it as Bourbon and Branch lite.

P.S.: Please, Yelpers, continue to submit pictures of yourself drinking or pointing at food as though any of the rest of us care.  After flagging them as "not helpful," I cut-and-paste them into emails I send to prisoners convicted of violent crimes.  "Dear Bruno: You don't know me, but I love big, strong men who like to beat the hell out of firefighters.  I live in San Francisco.  I'm not going to tell you where, but I've enclosed a picture.  If you can find me, you can have me.  Signed, Trixie."

I love this place!

Last night we got adventurous and had the lovely bartender pour us a round of bourbons. And rather than opting for the tried and true we tasted three that were new to us. The bartender was able to reccomend three bourbon's that no one in my group had ever tried. I love a bartender who knows a thing or two about the booze their serving. And she was gorgeous.

Very knowledgable staff, tons of unknown/obscure booze, incredible punch bowls, and a great atmosphere. They have these amazing punch mixtures that they serve in milk glass bowls- perfect for a night out with a group of friends.

The only problem I sometimes notice is the random marina style douche bags that pop in for a drink from time to time. I guess we can't always keep them on their side of town, haha, oh well.

If you're a true alcademic, Rickhouse has to be at or very, very near the top of your list.

Take a break from having your drink glass filled via beer taps and bar hoses and try some of the works of art this place has to offer.  I'm sure many before me have mentioned the drink menu (I don't know....30 pages???) complete with detailed descriptions of what goes into each drink so your risk of not liking what you order is infinitesimal.

I actually came here once before some months ago but held off on writing my review because I didn't remember the names of the drinks I ordered.  so this time, I utilized the trusty iPhone notepad.  I'm big on gin so my choices this evening were the Casino Royale, Straits Sling and the Restauranteur.  All were splendid.

Try not to hang out in front of the bar because it's narrow and you'll spend most of your time bumping elbows and dodging people (a la 83 Proof).  Try and grab a table in the back.

Fabulous interior. Creatively delicious drinks. Great energy. Nice staff.

This is a great place to go to when you want to enjoy a relaxing night with friends, drinks, and conversation. It's interior is cozy and welcoming - beautiful wood everything.  You can tell that whomever created the drink menu is definitely knowledgable in the field of drink mixtures. A+

Things to note:
-More than one bathroom to go round.
-Punch bowls are a nice festive touch to share with friends.
-Don't expect to spend $2 here. Rickhouse offers specialty drinks, not drink specials.

Happy hour isn't very happy hour-ish at all because it's not that cheap.  But....

I have to say that the drinks are indeed excellent.  Because it's so packed during peak hours, service can be difficult (both flagging someone down and waiting for drinks).

Unfortunately, I don't make FiDi $ to be a regular here =D

This is my favorite place to go after work, or even on a weekend, or really any day of the week.

The atmosphere is awesome here and the drinks are even better.  The list of drinks is quite large, but don't get overwhelmed... just look for something that you may like and take a leap.  I have had a big variety of them and I would say all but one drink I have liked.  The bartenders take their time in preparing these drinks which may be considered some type of art.  So I would say don't get annoyed if takes a little longer than normal to get a drink- that's how it is supposed to be!

Awesome, super, great.  I love this place.

Another great Yelp find!

This place is really dark and atmospheric and cozy. We sat upstairs where the walls are made of oak from barrels that stored whisky. Unique and wonderful with candles everywhere.

And the drinks! If you can't find a favorite cocktail here, it doesn't exist. All served up without attitude or pretension.

My out-of-town guests were truly impressed. So was I.

This is not a dive bar, certainly not a speakeasy, yet not quite a cocktail bar. Rickhouse straddles the line of bar and cocktail bar. It can be very busy so go early.

I have had about 15 different cocktails here and they ranged from good but out of balance to very good. I tried drinks from 3 different bartenders of them Krista was the best. While very pretty and personable, Krista was most importantly well versed in the drinks while other bartenders had to check books and she consistently put out better drinks then the other two I had. Of the drinks I tried the highlights I remember were the Rye Maple Fizz and Jalisco Flip. There were many other great drinks, but unfortunately I can't recall the names. Because of it's popularity I have noticed many bartenders will often skip tasting a cocktail before serving it to me (to make sure it is balanced and tastes as it should). I really hope that this isn't a sign of things to come and only a minor lapse because it's a stellar bar.

Over all this is a bar you should be in right now. Go. Have a few drinks.

If you do not have any alcoholic tendencies you will after stopping here.

And I have never seen harder working old school bartenders in my entire life. I only had time for 1 drink, but somehow managed to order 3. Yes i drank all of them. I had something called a "booker" which I have no idea what it was, but it sure was good. And with each sip it got better and better. By the third one I was thinking this may be the best drink I ever had.

I am convinced that there is no bottle of alcohol that they do not carry. I didnt count them, but I swear I saw at least 15 different types of Cognac. I thought about asking for a Germain Robin XO, but I will save that for when my dad visits.

It was so dark, that I actually spent 3+ hours drinking with a group of people, and I didn't recognize two of them the next time I saw them. Why so dark? The waitresses were ridiculously hot, so that was cool, but the bartenders were slow. The punch bowls are tasty and strong, but everything is a little pricey. I wouldn't choose this bar as my destination, but sometimes that's where people want to go. So I go.

I didn't want to love it, because I find B&B kind of douchey, but any new cocktail bar deserves a fair shake.

On the second of my many evenings at Rickhouse, I fought the urge to order another J.J. Russell and instead pestered Brittany for a recommendation.  She  suggested a Sazerac so I let her know she was on the right track, but hadn't hit the mark so she told me to trust her and brought me my first Martinez, which blew my mind.  From that moment on, I was sold.  This is the best cocktail bar in San Francisco.

Since then I have fully explored the cocktail menu, and the bartenders, and I have never had anything but great experiences at Rickhouse.  Joe and Amanda are great, but Krista is by far my favorite bartender in all of San Francisco.

Bar with a good vibe. Too bad my drinks were weak and the service sucked. You pretty much had to heave yourself on to a bartender to get a drink. People I was with had beers and seemed pretty happy with them. I'll go back, and hopefully the drinks will be a bit stronger, if I can get one.

So you've heard of these punchbowls by now, right? If not - one of many specialties at Rickhouse is a big classy bowl of deliciousness made to share with friends. This magical punch carries the perfect balance of "I can't taste any alcohol" and "why is the room spinning?"

In addition, the punch is served with sweet little porcelain teacups, thereby satisfying both my innate Southern need to act like a lady and my true desire to be a raging boozehound of legend. Hooray!

Other craft concoctions were crowd-pleasers too, using well-balanced flavors + fresh ingredients + high shelf liquor, resulting in a righteously strong cocktail.

The scene was mellow on a weeknight and quite dark inside. Having poor depth perception, I found myself sort of stomping around precariously in front of me for fear of going off a ledge, but thankfully no one batted an eye, due to aforementioned punch bowl sharing.

Good for a first (or tenth) date, after work with friends, or for adventuresome family in town.

This a fun bar with a great atmosphere for those who have just got out of work (I do not recommend it if you are looking for slutty girls in tiny outfits and no brains).  The old wood and candles create a rustic-romantic feel.

The bartenders are alcohol fountains of knowledge regarding an encyclopedia of creative cocktails. My friend and I got hooked on these cinnamon-ish whiskey drinks that pretty much made my Thursday =D

Minus one star because there is not a lot of room and everyone is packed like sardines which takes a bit away from enjoying oneself fully.

Two words: punch bowl. Fabulously fruity, yet deadly.

Thanks to the complete stranger who took us under his wing and shared his punch bowl with us. It went against my belief of taking food/drink/candy from strangers, but that cauldron of punchy wonderfulness was calling my name.

I finally had a chance to come here the Friday after Thanksgiving for happy hour. I've walked by it many times, but it's always crowded and now I know why. The cocktails are excellent the space is really cool. Dark and "old timey." I think the prices are right in line with what you get. A great cocktail isn't cheap. Their menu of cocktails is mindbogglingly long and complex, but all the ones I had tasted oh so good. I may have had too many though, but that's not their fault.

I've walked past Rickhouse about 100 times, and every time I would think to myself, "I need to try this place"! I wasn't going to drink this week as I had a fabulous trip to Boston planned this weekend to visit a friend (have to save up for a weekend of drinking), but she fell ill, and alas, my fabulous trip is no more. What better reason to try a bar than to drown your sorrows?!

I went with some old/current work friends, and as soon as I got there we (I) ordered one of the punch bowls. In the words of my friend "Steve" (name changed), it was "absolutely delightful". After about 2/3 of the punch bowl and three glasses of wine, my sorrows had been successfully drowned, and I made my way home. On the way out, I looked at the sign, and thought to myself "I'm coming back to this place"!

I've been quite the happy camper since this joint opened up around the corner from my abode.

The clientele is a bit trend-a-rific and I'm not certain I understand the owner's decision to make the joint appear like it's boarded-up (and, um, CLOSED) but Rickhouse has an impressive selection of liquor (that requires LADDERS!!!) and a cute little space. The bartenders know their shit, and thought the space is a little bit small, the neighborhood isn't quite as popular as some other SF hotspots.

DEFINITELY try a punch bowl, because:
1. They're ENORMOUS!
2. The punch is extraordinarily tasty. I 'experienced' a gingery concoction that cured my flu and bowled me over with a hangover all in the same night
3. They serve it in cute white China tea cups. That you can hold with an extended pinky.
4. They mix it in a fantastically-grand fashion right before it.

Be warned: the punch bowl is enormous. You want to get a group together to polish it off.

Rickhouse is A-OK with me.  We finally went there last Saturday during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.  We timed it to arrive shortly after they opened up, around 6:15pm.

This is because we failed in an earlier attempt to get in.  The place has been seemingly slammed since it opened up a short while ago.  So much for the bad economy!

First off: I was pleasantly surprised to find that the drink prices are not excessive.  There are a number of cocktail drinks in the $7-$8 range, even some as low as six.  And they are all apparently lovingly made.  Granted, the drinks themselves are on the petite side compared to what a lot of people are used to.  But you need to keep in mind that like everything else in this country, our cocktail drinks have been 'supersized' over the years.  Drinking margaritas out of pint glasses and 8oz pours of wine were definitely not the norm until recently, but that's what you get at many places nowadays.

So it's good to see the return of the sub $10 handcrafted cocktail.  We tried several, including an interesting variation of the "Death in the Afternoon" (absinthe and champagne), and they were all tasty.

It looks like someone put some serious bucks into renovating the interior of this place.  It's rustic, but nice... and very tastefully lit, if a bit dark even for my "I like dark bars" sort of taste.  Bonus surprise: if you walk towards the back, you will find another bar!  It's not as extensive-looking as the front bar and its wall-o-booze, but I'm glad it's there.

Despite a small upstairs mezzanine seating area, The bar interior itself is really not all that big, so I can imagine things start to get tight in a hurry.  And with all the reflective surfaces and loud voices, it would be downright unpleasant to be trapped in there when it is packed.  And packed it usually is every Thur/Fri/Sat night.

Though it's early to tell, I have a feeling that Rickhouse will be around for awhile.  They serve very good, unique drinks, and the prices allow you to try a lot of them, as well as get ideas about making your own.  Nice place.  I hope they stay busy... but not *too* busy, if you know what I mean.

Love, love, love this place. I wish I could have stayed longer! I came in with a friend after dinner on Halloween before heading back to the airport and it just wasn't enough time!

Their cocktail menu is amazing...25+ pages of classic cocktails! The bartenders are very knowledgeable and will give you suggestions or whip you up something custom based on your likes/dislikes.

I had a Ginger Rogers and enjoyed every last sip! Everything is so fresh and the stock the bar with whats in season. Pretty cool.

The atmosphere was dark and classic, almost mysterious. I tend to like more modern decor; but for this place, what they have works really well.

It wasn't that crowded, but it was early, on a holiday, in downtown San Fran...the bartender said they get pretty busy during weekday happy hours and then Fri/Sat late night.

I really want to go back!

Checked out this bar after work on a Friday night and I must say, this place is great! There is a line outside but it works out because the place is never crowded inside.

The drinks here are solid. My wife got a drink with champagne, peach, cassis and really enjoyed it. I got the bourbon drink with ginger beer which I highly recommend. A group next to us got the punch bowl. We were debating whether to get one too (we already had a few drinks) but decided to wait till next time. It looked super good and the people next to us were raving about it. I think we'll have to try that sometime soon. Overall, I'm glad my friends and I stumbled upon this place. It's great!

This place is awesome!!
They have a 'drink list' that is a more like a book, has a leather (or leather-like) cover and funny quotes in there about drinking... but the most important part: LOTS and LOTS of interesting cocktails.
I love to try new drinks, and I could probably go here every weekend for a year and not have the same drink twice, like I said AWESOME!

FYI: for those of you that don't like creative, delicious cocktails like I do, they don't have the usual suspects of the boring drinks ie: no energy drinks, no cranberry juice, no patron and probably lots of other boring stuff but that is just what I noticed b/c people around me ordered but were denied ha!

The vibe is also very cool, good music, decent service, decent crowd and cool decor.

Came here late one night after another big event. I was dressed up and couldn't change, and this place has a very relaxed vibe.

However, trying to enter, we were told that the bar was filled to capacity. (I was a bit miffed, as I wanted to go here because there wasn't a ton of people milling about, or in line trying to get in for the last 1 hour of drinking like so many popular Tenderloin area clubs.

I peered inside and there was easily enough room to allow entry, as there was nobody in the hall way in front of the bar, so you didn't have to squeeze, bump and grind to get in,  like so many other meat markets. BUt they said when someone leaves, we can enter.

I said, no, I am leaving, because that is exactly what I was trying to avoid. Standing on the corner trying to think of Plan B, a few people left, so they let us in.

It was late, but it seemed the bartenders were more interested in making conversation with single ladies than taking our drink order. And we were sitting right in front of two of them. So for you lonely bar flies, come here about midnight for some attention.

We finally got to order a Martini and a soda, $6. The bartender was non-challant about taking the money, too. Busy talking.

There is a huge wall of liquors behind the bar, a long narrow space, an area in the back, and a loft upstairs. The bathrooms use sliding wood doors that leave a large crack even when closed.

The vibe is relaxed and pretty down to earth, with little pretension or primping by the crowd.

Nice place, if you can get in and order a drink!

More like 3.5 stars.

Came here late night for a drink. The Martini I had was good, solid and fresh!

But what I really like about this place is the ambiance, that while it's loud, it's relaxing as almost country style music was lounging. It has a more mature crowd (30s and 40s) which makes it less chaotic.

I walked by a couple days later during the day and saw they were constructing the other half of the bar. Good because the current space is a bit cramped and can definitely use some more room.

For the longest time I kept thinking people called this place 'Brickhouse.'  I think that's a bar really in mtn view.  oops.

Anyhow, this is a great place to have a nice chill night with your friends.  Clientele here is a mixed crowd - seems to be more of the working professionals here though.  But definitely no riff-raffs!  +1 star.

I like the set-up.  I like the old school look and the wooden creaking floors all add to the decor.  It gives that look like this place has been around for over 80+ years, but really really it is super clean and modern at the same time.  Like some of your favorite pair of distressed jeans?  +1 star

I don't remember exactly what drinks I got here, but I do remember having a very delicious cocktail that we simply asked the bartender, 'make me a cocktail that tastes great and is strong!'  +1 star

While making our strongly, manly cocktail drink...the bartender also literally lit his thumb on fire and blew fire out into the air like he was a dragon!  Yes, a dragon.  No.  I was not drunk or close at the time of this event.  +1 star

I heard happy hour is quite splendid here too.  Definitely, a place to check out.  And everytime I step in here..i hear the Rick James same..BRIIIIIIIIIiiiiiiccckhoooouuuuse! in my head.  Yes, I'm weird like that.

The place is very nice. Great hang out joint in the financial district. Everyone there is very nice except for the manager. He stands right in the middle of the bar, not smiling, not taking drink orders and staring people down.

I tried to order drinks but the bartender couldn't hear me because it was very loud and packed, so I went to the service lane to place my order. The manager then immediately stared me down to get out of the service lane. Didn't ask nicely, just pointed his stubby fingers to walk back around the other side.

A bar is a bar..............dive bars, lounges, clubs, and pubs........The are all the same. It's how well your service is. The bartenders here are attentive, professional, and nice. As a matter of fact the drinks are pretty good. But......... it just takes one guy to really mess up your whole experience. Great place to hang out in the financial district if it's not crowded. The 1 star is base purely on my experience from the rude manager.

Great ambiance and yes, it gets totally packed at times (we had to wait briefly outside before entering until a couple people exited).  The main drink menu is huge - I mean it has a table of contents!  ;D

We were here for a work happy hour and we had a good time!  My bf had a Speakeasy beer on tap and I had the "Blame It on Rio" drink - very smooth, and yes, it's fun to watch the bartenders work their magic.  And I am so curious about those punch bowls (they are literally lined up behind the bar enticing you to order them up, good for groups of at least 2-3, I think).  Next time!

I walked right by the main entrance because the bar's facade makes it seem much larger than it really is (unless I missed an entire part of the bar)!

Fancy decor, fancy menu and interesting drinks!  Great place to congregate for a workplace happy hour and really good servers who were attentive, but not pushy!  Loves it!

I would never have thought to hang out in this area on a weekday, but I must say this spot on a leisurely Tuesday night is pretty neat. The cavernous interior is on the dark side, but I suppose that just makes the people you're talking to a bit more attractive since you can't really see them. Perhaps.

It feels like a cave, but also has a strange speakeasy sort of vibe, especially with the bartenders dressed up as they are. The place is full of co-workers getting drunk post-happy hour, friends, and couples on dates. I like the decor -- quite minimal -- but I didn't like having to yell over the noise to talk to people. Ah well. It's a bar, no?

I went here with a friend after work on a Thursday and the place was packed wall to wall.  We actually had to stand outside for 5 minutes until the doorman could let us in.

We both had whiskey and water.  Seemed overpriced, I figure there was a 15-20% premium over the same brand somewhere else.

Cool looking interior, but no/horrible AC.  We were dying from the heat.  When the place is packed, the ventilation system can't cope with the bodies, especially in the back.  I'd like to go back and give it another try when it's not so crowded.

Overall, it seemed like a good place to meet new people, but a bad place to try and catch up with an old friend.

Before we get started, let's get one thing straight -- this isn't your normal bar where you order a round of shots (unless you're planning on shooting bourbon) or even the standard bar drinks (G&T, red bull vodka, etc). You come here for the creative libations their skilled bartenders specialize in. If you want basic bar drinks, you will probably be better off anywhere else.

That said, this is by far one of my favorite bars in the Financial District. This place has everything that makes a great bar- friendly bartenders, unique and affordable drinks, cute waitresses, and bouncers that aren't giant d-bags.

I always end up getting my favorite drink, the Kentucky Buck , but I also try to get something different each time as well. The huge menu definitely gives me incentive to keep coming back to try different drinks :). Most of the drinks are in the $7-$10 range, which I think is pretty damn cheap considering the quality and uniqueness of ingredients used. I've yet to try their infamous punch bowls, but rest assured that they are on my list.

My friends and I started off my bday party celebrations here on a Friday night around 8 and there was plenty of space to move around (although the AC was off which made for a very warm environment). My friend and I have the same birthday and when our waitress found out, she brought us a few glasses of bourbon (on the house) to celebrate...and she enjoyed one with us too!

If you ever ask me to happy hour in FiDi, you can be sure that this will be the first place I name. Be warned though, this place normally gets packed at peak drinking times.

Having lived in both LA and SF during my lifetime, I can definitely say there are massive differences between the two and more times than not, SF won in the great city debate. But last night, SF lost a few points because they pulled an LA. Talk about Dickhouse.

I had heard a lot of great things about this Rickhouse joint from friends here in the city and was eager to go and check it out. I arrived on the early side of 5 and the place was already bumpin'. I ordered a Kentucky Buck and checked the place out. So far so good. Wish there was more seating available, but over all, good stuff.

About an hour later, my friends started arriving. First one, then 3 and the rest of the group was on their way over. We continued to order round after round of drinks as we waited, hoping a table would open up so we could try a punch bowl.

About an hour after that, the place got a lot less crowded and we finally scored a little sitting area and we were stoked. Clearly table stalking still works. As we settled in, we were going back and fourth with texts from our other friends that were now outside in a loooooong line. A line? In SF? That doesn't make any sense to me at all. Hi, LA.

After receiving texts that the line wasn't moving, one of our friends was just gonna give up and go home. With that, I finally flagged our waitress down after we had ordered a punch bowl figuring that our friends would be in any minute and explained to her what our sitch was and SHE offered to talk to the door guy and gave us the thumbs up that they were cleared to come in.

I then shot my friends that confirmation text, but they weren't let in as promised. As they continued to text us from outside the door saying that they wouldn't let them in, I finally got up to see what the problem was. My friend was standing right in front of the door and I tapped the door guy nicely on the shoulder and asked if he had been given our two friend's names and he said "yes, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna let them in any faster."

So then I ask you, what was the friggin' point of giving him the names in the first place?! Thanks to that, one of our friends did end up leaving and for the rest of us still inside, it was a definite bummer since the whole point was for us all to be together!

So here's my gripe:

A, lines are ridiculous. It's SF, come on, please don't turn into THAT city that keeps a line outside a not so busy place to make themselves look better.

B, don't offer to get someone in and then not deliver on that promise. We were ordering plenty of drinks and spending plenty of money and while I don't think that entitles me to any favors, I do think that it counts for something, especially when the offer was made to us, not by us.

C, if all of that hadn't gone down, I probably would have enjoyed the time and money we spent here, but as it was, it really soured the night.

That and one of the bathrooms doesn't have a lock, so your chances of someone walking in on your are pretty high. Good times, you've been warned.

This bar was THE first place I wanted to go on a recent visit from LA and it did not disappoint. I came in on a Sunday and almost paced outside the door until noon on Monday.

I can see how the cocktail list can be a bit daunting, but the guys and gals that work here are more than smart enough to pick something great for you if you give them something to work with.

Steve was my guy for the two afternoons that I spent at the Rickhouse. Great guy and fun as hell to spend an afternoon drinking with. Ryan and Erick were my go-to guys on the night shift. Couldn't have been handed drinks by two nicer guys.

To address the nonbelievers: I work at a bar (a lot) like this in LA and if you're not getting drinks as fast as you think you should, here's some advice:
-Change your approach. Don't wait until your drink is more than gone to order another.
-Good drinks take time...duh.
-Be polite. Do you really think being a dick is going to get you anywhere any faster?

My biggest concern with this place was that the bathroom right by the main bar didn't lock...that's just risky business...

Finally a cool new bar.
It's spacious, and they have an original drink menu.  However, they're strict on their capacity and if you get there late it's a bootch to wait in line - door man doesn't budge.

What a delightful little bar!

I could go on about the great ambience of the bar, which was mellow yet classy, low key, dark lighting, lots of wood and cool decor, and cocktail waitresses dressed up in skirts with suspenders and the boys in button up shirts and vests... but really, not all of us give a shit about that. Let it suffice to say if you're looking for a cool little spot for an after work drink in the Financial District you should definitely check this place out.

Extensive cocktail list. I had the Kentucky Buck, I believe, which is very similar to the Recoil served over at Bloodhound. Doesn't have quite the same kick as the Recoil (needs more ginger beer! more bourbon!), but still quite nice. Prices are relatively reasonable, I think it was $8 a pop for the aforementioned Buck.

Kudos to our servers who were very nice and very knowledgeable about their recommendations. (Is there anything more annoying than asking a server a question and having them reply "Um... I don't know, let me ask." Jackass.)

Also a nice place to people watch, if you're into checking out all the finance folks pour in after 5 to get a little loose. If you're not so into the yuppie hangout, I wouldn't recommend this place on a weeknight. Otherwise, drink on!
