off to richmond, where you can apparently still smoke in bars. gross.
this place is a fine marriott, with solid business traveller beds, mediocre tv's, and a small bathroom. but then again you wouldn't be staying here for a vacation. you'd be here to sleep and work. so it works fine.
the gym is a joke, the pool was closed, but i slept fine. oh the in room coffee is horrible too. staff=super nice.
Richmond Marriott West meets my expectations for a Marriott brand hotel. The decor is modern and feels very clean and classy. The hotel is full service with a friendly staff, fitness center, pool, restaurant, and free parking lot.
The rooms are nice and the beds are incredibly comfortable. Internet is not free ($9.95) but that is expected of a nicer, more expensive hotel (why?!?) and no points will be docked. If your a platinum member you get the benefit of a nice concierge's lounge which is good as a free bonus but not worth a premium. The water pressure here is also through the roof.
That said the TV's in the rooms are nubbins and in dire need of an upgrade. My TV goes ape shit whenever the color white is displayed (which is a lot). My iron is also crusty and their is no fart fan in the bathroom. Also, breakfast was a big disappointed. No bacon? :(
