3 reviews for Richland Park
I first stopped by Richland Park after a day of thrifting down Charlotte. I was just looking for a place to enjoy some sunshine and digest my Bobby's Dairy Dip. The place is definitely small, and next to a busy road, so it's not exactly detached from the city crowding around it. It is still a great place to bring the book you just check out from the library to read or perhaps to take a study break and play a game with friends. There's a playground for the little ones. The place is well-maintained, and frequently populated enough that you wouldn't feel uncomfortable bringing them there.
As Patrick pointed out, the lot is pretty basic overall and not overly exciting to look at, but it's always nice to have a plot of green mixed in.
This is a pretty small urban park, but it's neat. It's right next to the Richland Park Library on Charlotte Pike, and it mainly seems like a spot where kids hang out. On the weekends, however, it seems like it would probably make a pretty good spot to play frisbee or two-hand-touch football (tackle if you're a big shot).
There is a playground at the middle of the park, and a handful of tennis courts are located at the end. The park itself is mainly like a big, flat back yard. There are some trees but much scenery. But hey, it's always nice to have a park, right?
Richland Park is one of Nashville's better-maintained park. A big grassy meadow with a few good shade trees and some tennis courts on the far side of the library, this would be a good place to spend a Saturday afternoon picnicking, playing frisbee, and napping in the sunshine. There's also a baseball diamond, a sandpit for beach volleyball (but no net), a playground, some picnic tables, and a lot of lights around the periphery, in case you want to play a late game soccer (although I've never been to this area at night, so you probably shouldn't take my word for it.)
The library and the school right next to Richland Park mean that there're probably always other people in the park, which I think is nice. Plus, I saw a few kids and parents visiting the playground.
