Richard is a total professional. I have been going to him for 3 years now and highly recommend him. I can feel the energy move through my body spreading relaxation and good vibes as Richard massages the stresses of everyday away. He is used a combination approach to treat me and I cannot stress enough how he has made my life better for knowing him. Peace and Wellness.

Hi, y'all.. yeah, Richard is an excellent practitioner, he does a great job..
but he wants people to know he is phasing out of acupuncture because he enjoys doing bodywork more; an eclectic mix of acupressure, deep massage, etc. His awareness of the five elements and meridians does inform his massage, so you are getting a lot of good work for your time and money. Please try his work and see if you agree!

Richard is simply the best there is!  In San Francisco, LA and NY, I have found only two bodyworker/accupunturist pros that REALLY impact my overall health.  Richard is one of them.  Oh sure, he can give a brilliant massage.  But where Richard really shines is as the Chinese Doctor he is, working diligently and compassionately to truly help HEAL you.  I can not recommend Richard highly enough.  He has cured my shoulder when I had a rotator cuff injury and my lower back when I had an L6 compression problem.  I adore him and have been seeing him for 6 years, so I have credibility : )

Despite being a long time friend, Richard Light has treated myself and all that i send his way with the utmost of professionalism, and sincerity.  His thoughtful application of myriad techniques, leave me than better before.  Managing copious amounts of capital for my clients leaves me in a tight knot at the end of the week.  Richard, thanks for untieing me.

Richard was referred to me by my girlfriend, who had an amazing experience when he treated her back.  I have had acupunture, chiropractic, and massage, but Richard really blew me away with his unique multi-approach treatment.  Recently I incurred a serious knee injury that has brought about chronic back pain.  When I leave Richard's practice, I always stand up straighter, limp less, and feel more like myself.

I tried Richard Light based on Yelp recommendations.  I am very pleased!!  His unassuming approach to his work makes it easy to communicate with him, and his healing techniques were insightful and effective.

It's always been easy to schedule appointments with him, and you get his full attention/focus in a non-rushed appointment.  He also comes across as a down-to-earth-good person, which makes it a pleasure to go to his office.

I love Richard.  Yes, sometimes things are a little hectic and he seems rushed but man he does a GREAT JOB.  I've been going to him for Yoga, Acupuncture, Acupressure, Massage, Herbs, Stretching (you name it) for four years and every time he treats my problem with an amazing amalgamation of techniques.  It is such a treat to go to someone with a wide range of areas of study who can truly tailor their approach to your needs.

He seemed like a nice, down to earth guy who really cared and wanted to help and the Thai massage was great.  But I felt he was way too rushed in putting the needles in me, it was almost maniacal the frenzy he had then.  I said to myself, "he's going to leave a needle in me", and sure enough he did.  Also he burned my stomach with a hot-stone.  Also, not necessarily his fault but sure didn't add to my impression of this experience, was that I had an allergic reaction to the herbs he suggested.

I'm hesitent to give away the golden goose. Richard is awesome if you need an exceptional therapeutic massage, acupuncture, shiatsu or yoga instruction. I've been going to him for the past 4 years to treat my bumps and bruises. He has an incredible understanding of what's going on underneath the skin and his needlework has left my head floating around more than once. He books up early and btw I'm deleting my review if I can't get an appointment next week.

Phil pretty much sums it up.  Richard is very intuitive.  I am dealing with some issues brought on by too many years in the kitchen.  Tight spots loosen up, muscles start to relax and elongate, and if you don't have one at home he has this hip sling that is wonderful for taking off the pressure of your lower back, not to mention, a vast knowledge of Thai, acupressure, cranial sacral, acupuncture, and on and on.  I go to Richard and compliment it with visits to Joshua Longo for adjustments.
Enjoy

I had been passing by Richard's place for years and always saw his sandwich board offering services for Acupuncture and Massage without giving it much thought.
One day I woke up and had to literally pull myself out of bed due to a bad back.
I hobbled, hunched over, to the sandwich board and called.
He, shockingly got me in the same day.
He worked on me extensively for 2 sessions in 2 consecutive days.
After day one I could stand up.
After day two I could stand up straight and feel much less pain and tightness.
I've been going off and on for probably 2 years now.
I really feel like Richard is a healer. Not in a "newagey" way, but this guy really has something.
I think it's knowledge, experience and great intuition.
Do yourself a favor and go see him.

i went to richard after a shoulder injury, & he was able to see me the day i called.

when i came in, he went right to work, no twinkle-tips, surface-job here (i can get that from my friends), but a good, deep, thorough, therapeutic massage, which i love. i should mention that he certainly took care to ask at the start & to check in as appropriate that all was going well. i was also pleased w/ his not-shy-but-still-gentle initiative in moving my body & limbs about as needed.

an interesting combination of heat & cold were employed quite effectively, & a wee bit of ear-acupuncture... all-in-all the session & short relaxing period afterward felt very full & worthwhile. what's more, he was able to work w/in my budget. i recommend.
