what can I say about rice. Lord. In the winter they have this spiced rum cider that is so tastey, and I love the veggie meatballs.  I get the black thai rice with edemame beans in it.  Its my favorite combo.  Plus they have really good sorbet, and its cheap!  10 bucks fills me up for diner.  They deliver for lunch as well. Cash only, which sometimes sucks.

Their food is alright, not the best though.  I've read up the reviews here on yelp and it had me clamoring to go.  I'm one of those true Asians who can't do without her rice so I had to see how's their rice.  The shrimp balls were cute and they were good.  I thought they were going to be like dumplings with shrimp inside, but instead it was balls of rice with dried shrimp and onions scattered on it.  Never the less it was still tasty.  What you should def try is the Indian curry.  SO GOOD! and the chicken was very soft and just melted in my mouth :D** (only reason why they get 4 stars instead of 3). oh and the pad thai is not so good.

Now to the rice - eh.  It was pretty hard and bland (the lebanese and the thai with edamame)  I should of probably went for the soft sushi rice, but oh well.  I might go there again and try that.

Rice is definitely a solid lunch choice, but I've never been overwhelmed and have never been underwhelmed. I usually leave rice feeling pretty "whelmed". But what other New York City restaurant do you know of that takes checks?

Charming, quaint, healthy, large variety, incredible rice.  I love the veggie meatballs with the red rice.  The edamame hummus was bland, but the asian slaw was tangy.  The free warm scone with lemon creme in the beginning was too good to start off with...  I had a lot of trouble deciding what to get, so i must go back.  And for less than 10 bucks a person, man am I ever going back.

I love Rice!! My only gripe is that their portions are small, even if you order the large.

I could probably write in excruciating detail on all the "classics" items on the menu and why I love them, but it's simply unncessary. Rice makes delicious stews/curries/etc. to accompany a terrific selection and variety of rice, also prepared very well. The flavors in their dishes are simply TASTY, yet it's uncomplicated, simple food. I've had the veggie meatballs, ratatouille, thai coconut curry and the jerk chicken wings. While all the dishes are superb, my two favorites are the ratatouille (if you're looking for something more heavy and rich), or the jerk chicken wings if you're looking for deliciously unique wings.

The rice here is also amazing, simply put. My favorite is the rice and peas, and the green rice is the best fit for the chicken wings. I would say the bhutanese red rice is a bit too al-dente (read: plasticky) for my taste however. I highly recommend this place if you're ever in the area, or need take-out (their delivery is very good).

Their RICE selection is amazing. The combinations - AMAZING too! And their appetizer's can actually substitute for whole entree dishes. I had there lunch approximately 3 times and went there for dinner once. Each time was served by different servers with great attitude, attention, and helpful with making choices when it come to what kind of rice goes best with what. Even when busy they never dismissed or neglected us.

In addition they just started serving JACK's STIR BREW COFFEE - which is my personal favorite.

Awesome place, and they are very understanding towards chopstick-challenged people such as myself and gladly provide you with silverware if you ask for it. (I mean I can pick up a sushi roll, dumplings, etc with chopsticks , but asking me to pick up rice grains one at a time is simply too much for me! I mean I go out to restaurants to enjoy myself, and not sweat over a bowl of rice.)

Yummy!

This location of Rice feels like an off the beaten path speakeasy.  The tables are nestled in the back near a working fireplace. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the waitress was extremely pleasant and non-intrusive, as was the busboy.  I always wash my hands before I dine, and I like that the sleek dimly lit, slate bathroom has a cool ergonomic hand dryer. I want one.. hint hint. Hmmm maybe I should link a wish list to my reviews.

Rice offers a sweet deal during lunch for $9.00, which includes a fresh green salad with hearts of palm, ample cherry tomatoes,
and entree ( I chose the veg meatballs-yummy ), and choice of rice.  There  are approx 12 rice varieties to choose from.  I'd like to try everything at least once before I die, so I chose the Lesbian rice. Ooops..Freudian slip..I meant the "Lebanese" rice of course.  For the record, I am of Lebanese descent, not a Lesbian.  That's not to say that I haven't thought about being a Lebanese Lesbian, considering most str8 men are dumpy, out of shape meatheads who only think from their nethernoodles.

My best friend is a gorgeous lesbian, not a Lebanese Lesbian, just your garden variety lipstick lesbian who was born gay..even her placenta was gay.  As far as I go...I don't think I could  totally give up the chicken for the biscuit, even though I am a pescetarian who doesn't eat chicken. Butttt..I might crave chicken one day...thus I'd like to have the option of chicken, you know,  just in case.  I guess this is what sexual confusion feels like?  Or maybe I am just confused as to what to order?  Straight until my next cocktail? Did I mention they serve Jack's Stir brew coffee?  That's some strong coffee!

Tori said in her review she had the lesbian rice.

Now, was that enough to make me trudge through rain pelting me in every direction when I visited NYC last week from Austin?

Yup!

Ok, yeah, well, I had no live guide-person, and little time to prepare on where to go while I was hanging in town, so I struck out through the rain and Chinatown in order to git to Rice.

Rice, rice, it's good for your.... whatever it's good for, it's various rices with various yummy things. I had the coconut thai curry with the black rice. Not sure why several reviewers hated the place, but maybe the people cooking at the time were asleep at the wheel.   I had the 'small' thai coconut curry with black rice, which I thought that was a nice-sized bowl, and it kicked ass.

My waitress, who I believe might have been of English descent if any of you care to look for a specific waitperson), was very nice though her name escapes me. Despite the fact that I did not want dessert because there are many things I can't eat due to dietary restrictions, without asking, she still brought me some cool rice-krispy treats with my check!

I would give Rice 4.5 stars if I could... they only lose 1/2 a star because the waitress who seated me - who was not mine - she was the only person peeking around back there for a while, and it was at least 20 minutes before anyone asked me if I wanted anything.

Sure I coulda bitched before then, but I was still drying out from the typhoon.

go Rice! Rice delivers and has multiple locations in Brooklyn as well.

This place was really disappointing.  I mean, if your namesake item is incredibly bland in two different variations, what does that say about your restaurant?  The best part of the meal was a complimentary scone that comes with brunch, so uh... go for that.

I ordered the Thai curry with black rice and the rice was unbearably bland.  I had to mix it in with the curry and even then it was just terrible.  My sister had a beef salad dish with the green rice and once again... no flavor.  The shrimp balls we had as an appetizer were interesting, but not tasty enough that I'd order them again.

I'll be nice and give 2 stars: one for the scone and one for the cute condiment holder thing, even if it's not very practical to pour condiments from large test tubes.

I had the pleasure of dining here with Michael F and a Yuggle (that's a Yelp Muggle) friend of mine a month ago. Rice not only serves great food, in a cool setting, but the food provides hours and hours of fun (please see Michael F's review for ensuing jokes).

The rice balls (which come in different flavors) were tasty, as were the dim sum platter and pad thai. I had never had a rice ball before, and I was expecting it to be more elaborate. It turned out to be.... rice formed into a ball. But it was surprisingly tasty! Tip: order all the flavors!

The place itself is dark and cozy (also rife with hipsters, as per Mr. F), and great for a late night dinner (post WRL).

Rice seems like one of those little 'neighborhoody-gem' places. Can't wait to go back!

The $5 dessert trio is mini heaven. Mango tapioca balls with sorbet, coconut creme brulee, and a heart-shaped sugar cookie... for $5! Perfect to split between two as a post-dinner splurge or to eat alone as a sweet-tooth satisfying snack.

The Pad Thai left much to be desired, but this is forgivable given the awesomeness of the dessert trio. I also like the decor, which is minimalist but not sterile; it retains its warmth somehow.

There's a weekday lunch special they have where they can get you in and out pretty quickly for those tired of eating fast food all the time. Mix it up a lil.

This place is utterly amazing! The food here is absolutely mouth watering. You kind of create your own here by choosing the sauce to go with your dinner. It is cozy and romantic and the service is great.

The only drawback is the "cozy" aspect. It is really tight quarters here. I also love that they have a location at St. Ann's Warehouse in Brooklyn.

They don't take credit cards though - so bring some cash!

I felt adventurous today. And boy, did Rice reward me for that! I needed a good lunch after yesterdays debacle (not yet reviewed).

It's Rice: they have rice and asian themed dishes. And then there was Ratatouille, jumping out at me on the menu. Hmm, a French country dish, let's see how can the Asian fusion place screw this up (see, that's the adventurous part)? But I love an nice hearty stew, so I tried it. And boy was it GREAT!! I wish I skipped the mediocre specialty rice dish (the Lebanese Rice) and the bland Kheer and ordered 2 Ratatouilles. That's right, 2, because when it comes to good food, je suis un porc. It was fresh and chunky and spiced almost identically to my French step-father's method. Which is pretty much the best Ratatouille I've ever had. So this will be the 2nd best.

I had delivery, so I can't speak to the decor or space.

[Ed. Note: Just in case you didn't think I liked the Ratatouille here, I should let you all know I got it again for lunch the following day. That's right, same lunch 2 days in a row. Yummmm.]

I've been going to Rice for a few years now, and I hadn't been there in a bit, so I was surprised to find out that they have a new location.  The one on Mott Street was a little cramped, but cozy and had a certain something that was compelling about it.  I can totally dig the financial sense of moving to a bigger location, though, where more people can be accommodated.  It's a nice space, very old Soho-ish, which is cool. They even have a picnic table of sorts where you could seat a group of 8 or so.  Bitchin'.

I went with another Yelper and a friend of hers, and it was sort of an impromtu eating adventure post-Friday night WRL (White Rabbit Lounge, for those of you uninitiated).

RIce is a mixed Asian type of place and the food is tasty.  Not surprisingly, as has been noted they have... RICE.  Shock of shocks, I realize, but let's get down to the nitty gritty here:

I had the Pad Thai.  I've had it before, it's tasty.  They have good hot sauce there. Some vegetarian dumplings were had (not by me) and those were good too judging by the reaction of the others. Edamame were being shot all over the restaurant. More fun than a clown on fire, lemme tell ya.

The undisputed hit of the meal (regardless of the taste, which apparently was good) were the, um, rice BALLS, which elicited more than a few colorful innuendos during the course of our repast.  Some examples (some by the waitress, some by us, attribution is not germane to this discussion although it will be fairly obvious):

1. When would you like to have your balls, first, or with the rest of the meal?
2. Those balls are pretty tasty!
3. Man, these are the best balls I've had in a long time.
4. Don't mess with my balls, I'm busy eating!
5. Are you finished eating those balls?
6. Would you like to taste my balls?
7. Would you leave my balls alone already?
8. I need to come back and try the other balls they have here.
9. So many good balls to choose from.
10. Don't eat them right away, those balls are hot!
11. Should I remove the balls?
12. Yes, please, my balls are getting in my way.
14. (I'm superstitious, like a NY elevator) Do you want me to wrap those balls so you can take them home?

I think you get the idea.  Not only is the food tasty, but you'll have your fill of balls (and balls jokes, clearly).  One piece of advice:

Order the balls.

Bottom line, a fun time was had by all, that's for sure because that place is THE FREAKIN' BALLS, lemme tell ya.  Ok, then.

Oh yeah, it is in Nolita (kinda) so bear in mind, THERE WILL BE HIPSTERS there (eating balls, no less).  Dress the part or bring your repellent. Either way will do.

I popped in here earlier this week.
Good food at a good price! My friend and I shared an order of veggie dumplings and a caraff of wine. I enjoyed a chicken tamatillo tamale and some Jerk Chicken with brown rice. She enjoyed her Thai Curry with black rice. We finished the meal by sharing 3 homemade cookie-ice cream sandwiches.

All this - including tip was about $30 per person.
Yum!

Not sure why it says they accept credit cards -- they don't!
CASH ONLY -- but they do accept personal checks with ID.

Being addicted to Rice for about a month, I actually had to boycott SoHo for a while so I'd actually try some new things in Park Slope, where I lived at the time. ;  )

Not only is the food great at Rice, it's around the corner from Chibi's where you should stop to get a nice strong drink--and maybe hear some eclectic music--before heading to the Angelika Film Center for some indie film. (...many an enjoyable evening for me! But back to the food...)

My all-time fav: Vegetarian Meatballs, Spicy with Brown Rice. And, no, I'm not a vegetarian. I've been known to eat a large, but you can probably stick with a small unless you're starving. And order the Asian Slaw; don't be scared by the Lotus Root.

This place is small and can get crowded, so don't even think of bringing more than four people. They have take-out, but the portions are better in-house.

I haven't been to Rice since they moved to Elizabeth Street and it became top of mind when I was planning a lunch date in SoHo today. It was one of the most freezing days of the year and as I was deciding where to go I thought, "wouldn't it be nice to go somewhere with a fireplace?" as everywhere I've been lately I've been shivering inside.Well, lo and behold I arrived at the new Rice space and there was a fireplace. Table far from door + fireplace + good company= yay!

The food was the same as I remembered. We shared the spinach rice balls and I ordered the spicy tofu meatballs with black rice and edamame. I also had sake; I've been happily in the midst of a sake phase lately and this did not disappoint. I think we sat for two hours, eating and chatting...the new space lends itself to a warm, leisurely weekday lunch. I will definitely be back.

Rice is a great place to get an inexpensive meal. They offer a wide variety of rice choices and then meal choices, sort of like mix & match. The thai black rice & the lebanese rice are wonderful choices. The food tastes healthy. I only wish they had better lighting.

Consistently good food, and they deliver even though we're just outside their delivery area.  My favorite rice is the Lebanese Rice.  I could eat vats of it.  It marries roasted vermicelli and laurel, and it has a toasty and nutty flavor.

I love all their appetizers - the rice balls with carrot (or spinach) are particularly great and the thai shrimp rice balls are wonderful, too.  Both have a great, crisp outer shell and come with sauce.

The grilled tofu steak is spot on and is a huge dish of food.  I've had tofu steaks elsewhere that are greasy and flavorless underneath the outer layer, but this one is done really well.  Jon loves the pad thai.

Another great thing about this place?  They ask if you need utensils when you're on the phone placing your order.  I kick myself when I open a bag of delivery and find more plastic spoons and forks, and since I never remember to tell them not to bring them, I really appreciate that Rice remembers.

The place was great--friendly staff, not crowded, and good inexpensive food. The staff was accommodating and we were seated promptly. I had the baked beans with basmati rice which was really good in a comforting sort of way. I look forward to going back and trying some more dishes and rice varieties.

Rice is a really odd, but tasty experience.  The restaurant is a small, cute space, tucked away on a quiet block.  The meals are extremely affordable...possibly the cheapest dinner I have had in quite some time.

So, the menu starts with various types of rice--everything from simple brown to snazzy green rice with pine nuts and cilantro.  Most of their entrees are served in a bowl (small or large)...sometimes the combinations make sense and sometimes they don't.  But either way, it's an interesting concept.  They also have some noodle dishes like Pad Thai, which do not come with rice. For appetizers we started with the Vegetable Dim Sum, which was delicious.  The noodles were cooked perfectly and the vegetables inside were fresh.  For an entree I ordered the Lemongrass Chicken Salad, which was romaine lettuce, grilled chicken, lemongrass, and a lemon ginger dressing.  The salad was very good, but it was weird to have it in a big bowl with rice.  I ordered the green rice, which was good, but a little bland.  I tasted the Pad Thai, which was pretty good.

They also have an expansive tea menu, some homemade and some not.  I ordered a bottled blueberry tea, which was great.  They have some wine and bottle beer, but no bar.  Their dessert menu sounded delicious too.

The 4* rating comes mainly from the concept and the prices.  The food was good and probably worthy of  3.5 stars.  I would definitely like to go back and try some other meals.

This is a pleasant enough restaurant, but the two dishes I tried there (ratatouille and a soup) were bland, not-hot, and uninspiring. They seemed rushed, prepared quickly and without thought. I can't say that I was looking forward to it, as it was more expensive than I was hoping for, but I felt let down nonetheless. There's so much in the area, I'd recommend trying something else.

I have loved this place for a total of five years now.  As a newbie out of college, I called this my "favorite" place in Soho.  The Mexican Soup is dream-like and so refreshing, and my mainstay entree (Indian curry with yogurt, bananas, brown rice, et cetera) is just so good.  Hey, after five years it still gets five stars.  Must be doing something right.

Walking in from a cold day to a bowl of hot rice and entree is sure to make anyone's evening. It's such an extensive menu that I have a hard time choosing what pairings I want to go for. Luckily, every thing's good (I'm sure) because I haven't had a rice and entree pairing that I don't like yet.

The Thai beef salad with traditional sticky rice takes me back to the days of eating on the market's street corner in Bangkok while waiting for the bus. On a separate occasion, I felt the beginnings of an oncoming flu so I went for the Ratatouille with the Green Rice and found myself in comfort food heaven. All the spices and flavors just worked so well together.

Appetizers worth noting would have to be the stuffed peppers. Three peppers stuffed with black rice and swimming in an avocado sauce. The only qualms I had with it was I wish it was a bit spicier! Peppers makes me think heat and these were not that hot. The Eggplant maki is also really interesting and I thought it would be heavy but it was definitely a nice intro to the meal.

For under $10 a person, a full stomach can be had. Just remember to bring cash.

Pretty dissappointed with this experience given all of the hype here- this was #2 or #3 ranked Asian Fusian?  Are you joking?  To qualify something about me, I generally don't like filler food as my main course - potatoes, rice, beans.... I like these as little side quantities if at all, or complementary.  Maybe I read 6-7 reviews to quickly, but no one seemed very clearly to state the main course at this restaurant is rice (all varieties of rice), with sprinkles of other things like chicken or shrimp.  I ordered the shrimp balls, and they basically tasted like rice balls - the waitress explained they were finely chopped....ok, I'll take your word for it.  Then, the highly recommended "lemongrass chicken" came, which was like 95% rice, and literally 2 oz or less of chicken - it was very flavorful, but it was mostly rice.  So, in conclusion, Rice is probably the #1 restaurant in maybe America or the world as far as restaurants that serve Rice as a main course, but if you like more meat or substance in your meals, this really isn't the place for you - so to the genius that wrote how cheap this is, it's really not given how much of your meal is cheap filler.

I really love Rice. I had forgotten all about it and was wandering around tonight trying to find a place that would satisfy my vegetarian desires, my vegan friend's requirements and my children's hunger.

First off, I like the ambiance at Rice. It's informal, and has the sparse, clean lines I really appreciate. Upside down rice bags cover lamps, making it a bit dark, but it all adds to a nice ambiance.

As with my first visit last year, the service was really good -- in fact, a salad was delayed in coming out and they completely comped it. It's also quiet and efficient, I never felt like I even had to look around for someone if I had a question.

As to the food, they have vegan tamales, which are excellent! Fresh spinach, corn and peppers fill them. We also had the veggie dim sum, which was delish. I appreciate the wide varieties of rice that they offer, making it a healthier, yet still yummy, dinner.

I had a mesclun salad, filled with slices of avocado and hearts of palm. On previous visits I've had the soy meatballs, also good.

I'm not sure how good it would be for all kids. Mine are 7 and 9, used to eating out all the time, and adventurous enough eaters (skilled with chopsticks already) to enjoy this. I wouldn't recommend it to people with babies or children under 5.

All in a all, a very pleasant evening out!

Yummers! If you want simple comfort food, this is certainly a place not to break your bank after browsing/shopping along Broadway. I like the tucked away location after swimming against the mad rush of post-holiday tourist rampage. The staff is friendly and the bathrooms pretty clean (a sign of the kitchen cleanliness I hear).
Oh and their teas can be accompanied by three kinds of honey!

After reading all the reviews and knowing that it is almost right down the street from my office, I knew I had to try Rice as soon as possible.  Well, that opportunity came recently and I ordered a small Lemongrass Chicken to-go.  SO GOOD!  The chicken and the dressing was done correct and the meat-rice proportions were good.  The chicken wasn't overshadowed by the rice and vice versa.

I wonder what other good combinations are there...

Okay, I'm going to skip a review and get right down to the embarrassing anecdote.

The first time I ate at Rice was on a first date with a girl I met  in an improv class. She was beautiful, smart, and funny and wanted desperately to impress her. She worked down the street and was familiar with Rice menu. Although I tried not to show it, I was a nervous wreak. When it came to ordering I asked her what her favorite dish was and ordered that, the waitress asked if we wanted anything to start and my date said "Do you want to get some edamame?" "Sure!" I said not knowing what edamame was. The waitress returned several minutes later with a bowl of perfectly steamed and salted edamame. I watched how my date ate them and did the same, slipping the edamame peas into my mouth, hoping they didn't taste terrible. They were great.

About halfway through our meal, I was keenly aware that I had some serious gas. This gas only intensified as the night wore on and a bar later, I was in serious pain trying desperately not to fart in front of this girl. I held, what I imagined to be the mother of all farts, back. "Jesus," I said to myself in the bathroom mirror after I had excused myself, "what are in those things?"

My only thought was that the edamame were exacting retribution for actions perpetrated by my ancestors in the pacific theater during World War ll.

To make a long story shorter, The night was a huge success. Holding back the fart took my mind off being nervous and I impressed the girl so much we dated for years. Me and edamame still cause problems, and while I appreciate their help on that relationship, I'm going to skip them on my next date.

'Rice' proves that 'rice' is more than just a staple. What I mean is, if you were to really look at rice, you'll find that there's more to this food than just the white grain. At this place, you'll have the opportunity to try many different varieties: plain, brown, Japanese, sticky, basmati, bhutanese red, thai black, green, lebanese, ...

I come here every so often. The last time I was here was with a few friends (Amanda, Alex and Adam). The one notable thing about that meal was that we sat at a table next to Mike Myers and company! Alex suggested that he probably lives in the area but she couldn't be sure. He kept looking at everyone because I think he was nervous that he'd be recognized and mobbed or something. Must be tough being famous. He kept rather quiet throughout his meal. Adam and I kept joking around and saying how we were funnier than their party, but Amanda and Alex weren't really buying it.

Groovy, baby!

Rice makes me miss working on Mott Street! I used to eat here almost 3-4 times a week. There are tons of great choices, my fav being the chicken coconut curry and tamales. Also if you stop by the restaurant part and order tea, you get 6 different honey choices and amazing tea.

Everything here tastes fresh and there is always awesome music blaring while you are waiting. Plus,  checking sales racks across the street while you are waiting for an awesome lunch doesn't hurt either.

Great concept wonderfully executed on a small scale.  Food from "rice cultures", countries where rice is a predominant staple.  Think India, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia...

Great prices, wonderful appetizers, friendly staff.

Just one huge complaint:  they don't deliver far enough.  I grew addicted when my company--iballs, long since acquired--was on 6th avenue, but when we moved over to Greenwich we were told that we'd gone out of range.

This place deserves to have other locations...but probably shouldn't risk screwing up its small joint excellence.

I went to Rice for dinner in the fabulous company of JaxStar. Apparently they just moved recently from just a few blocks away, so we got to experience their new location. The place is pretty nice: dim lighting, simple decoration and raw-cement walls... I got a large order of the ratatouille (veggie stew) with jasmine rice, and it was actually quite good. Not as good as my mom's (or my own, for that matter), but still very decent. I really like that they have a huge selection of rices: when asked what kind of rice I wanted, I expected the choice to be between white and brown, but I was directed to the rice selection which occupies a whole page of the menu(!)... I'm curious to try some of the other kinds next time. I also tried their ginger lemonade: tasty. Our waitress was very nice, and didn't seem to mind when it took us an enormous amount of time to decide what we wanted to order. I'll definitely go back when I'm the neighborhood.

After reading about Rice on http://glutenfreegirl...., I knew I had to try this place on my restaurant tour of NYC.  My friend and I wandered past this tiny establishment a few times before realizing that yes, it is the size of my pinky finger. No matter, we walked in and sat right down, I asked for the gluten-free menu, and was surprised that some of the seemingly safe regular menu options were not on the gf menu.  I chose a vegetable curry and basmati rice, maybe not the most exciting dish on the menu but still very good. The small bowl size was definitely enough food for me.  I'd recommend it for anyone looking for something low-key and hipsterish in SoHo.

I used to frequent their older location on Mott st and was totally shocked to learn, thanks to David S that they changed locations. However, their new location is roomier though the decor still seems to be in the works, even with their minimalist standards. Food wise, I always love this place for a quick bite before heading out into the land of drinky drinks. Recently, they've changed up the pricing on the menu, I guess to reflect the growth in business (I'm that old school to this place that I still recall their original prices)
I had the tofu Pad Thai, it was decent, nothing to write home about but then again I doubt I'd write my Jewish mother about Pad Thai. And I've also had their veg meatball, sweet yet slightly spicy, really good ratatouille (and confirmed by a French (spy) man that is was pretty good, but not as good as his mother's) and a multitude of other dishes. So despite the move in space, they didn't not sacrifice the taste, luckily.

This small and very busy Asian/Caribbean joint is a cool place with a large selection of menu items to choose from.  You can choose from 4 different types of rice and 6 types of special rice like the delicious Thai black rice which is what I tried when I went there.  Tea selection is pretty neat too.  The food is really good and the service is pretty decent too.  When you go, try the rice krispie treats with marshmallows and cranberries!

One of my favourite spots to frequent when I happen to be in the area. This place has a warm atmosphere, and the staff are quite friendly, although when it gets busy it sometimes takes a couple waves to get their attention. Portions are on-target for the price, and sized for some relaxed after-meal walking around Soho. The Thai beef salad pairs exceptionally well with the Japanese rice. Also, don't miss the banana-leaf-wrapped thai sticky rice for dessert!

Stop in alone in the afternoon with a book, or if you have a date. Groups of 3 or more will find seating  tricky, as the tables are setup for pairs--but you could just stop by next-door and grab something to go.
