Rhumba used to be a bar, food place that was packed; now it no longer exists.
Which is somewhat surprising really....packed....out of business....eh?
So I thought I would get it out there that you shouldn't go looking for this place, because you won't find it.
However, there is a new business on the corner of pearl and...10th? which looks much like Rumba, and not just because it shares the same building, so go check the new place out maybe.

Boulder freaks me out
This place is one of the reasons why I think Boulder should be its own country like Vatican city.
Rhumba serves booze and food right.
Great stocks of cane spirits, rum, rhum, cachaca....
Great small menu, great view of mountain view from outside
While you get down with locals and take a deep breath, enjoy caipirinhas and mojitos here.

Okay, so, the best fight I have EVER had with a (pseudo) bf occured at Rhumba. The sucka said he did not have his wallet (!) and so i replied with the only natural response "YOU ARE A SHITTY BOYFRIEND." And, that was ACTUALLY the end--for real.
Whatever.
Besides that, food was good! Ordered some tofuy-thing, and...yumm! In addition to this, I have had distinctly pleasurable nights here on account of say, a friends birthday, Led Zeppelin, Colorado summer nights, and a mojito. (The mojito was dank!) Also, I knew two people who worked here so it was nearly free. I LOVE the outdoor patio area. And if you are lookin' good--this is the place for your mack! (But watch out for old men) and if you are not a sorority type...stay strong and steady.
Go on Sunday afternoon for the latin music. Drinks are good. The food is fun - good for a snack. Island food is not my thing for a meal.
Believe it or not, a converted garage turned into a Cuban restaurant. So much atmosphere, this place is a blast. And the food is incredible! In the summer they lift the garage doors up and let in the mountain breezes. Excellent mojitos!

Ambience and the cool crowd makes up for delightfully innovative cuisine that is always somehow "off"...the drinks are great and the bartenders are sweethearts.
Check out Rhumba on Sunday afternoons or on Tuesday evenings when they have live music. On Friday and Saturday nights the place crowds up with very attractive (and rich) Colorado blonds and their blinking colored cell phones. This joint is the perfect spot to sport your latest do, shoes, or summer dress. A must-visit for any Boulder regular.
RIP Rhumba best guacamole and mojitos in town

Great atmosphere, and interesting combinations of ingredients that you won't find very often, but the food just isn't as good as the menu descriptions. A place to have a drink, meet friends, or be seen.
yummy tofu! seems like the only decent restuarant/bar in Boulder... i like the constantly changing menu and vegan friendly options. the mojitos are fabulous.
