If you are looking for a lender who places her clients' interests in front on every transaction, Rhonda is your best option.
She's an industry colleague to me, so I have a different - but unique - perspective here. I've had the pleasure of helping clients of hers outside of her service area, and can tell you that they come in well-educated and well-prepared as consumers for real estate financing in the current environment.
Follow her around on the web a bit, and you'll quickly realize that she is a steadfast consumer advocate, focused on transparency and education.
Mortgage borrowing isn't the simplest process these days for even the most qualified consumer - having somebody like Rhonda leading the way is the best thing you can do to ensure you navigate the process with optimal results. -

I have searched far and wide for assistance in refinancing my mortgage in Oregon. As luck would have it, I stumbled upon an article that Rhonda had written. The article gave me hope and reinvigorated my resolve to refinance. I sent Rhonda an email and she responded immediately! Even though I don't even live within her service area, she's provided me support in, and help with, locating a mortgage professional near me. She's even weeding out the less-than-favorable folks. I think her effort speaks volumes about her customer service. Rhonda is a true gem in the mortgage industry!

TL;DR - Rhonda Porter is the real deal.
As I write this I am sitting on the beach. I include this to illustrate how stressful our home-buying experience was. So much so that we needed a vacation.
It started in January and ended in August. The loan process was a nightmare - it was like a having a second job. All night long I would scan documents, sign disclosures, print bank statements, and gather tax returns. This went on for months. If you haven't been living under a rock for the past few years you'll have heard that the lending climate is tough. Add self-employment to the mix and you have the perfect storm.
We tried and failed with six other loan officers before we found Rhonda. It always started out so promising, but inevitably the deal would fall apart in underwriting. Reaching my boiling point I turned to Yelp, found Rhonda and emailed her. "Should be no problem," she said. Yeah, that's now the seventh time I've heard that, I thought.
Rhonda and her team packaged up our loan and tried to send it up to US Bank. And of course, it fell apart in underwriting. After thoroughly chewing out USB up and down their organization Rhonda and Marilyn quickly switched gears and chose to fund it in-house. And here is where we separate the wheat from the chaff. Most originators package loans and sell them upstream to some bigger bank, and those banks have investors, and those investors have underwriting guidelines that are totally inflexible. So if for some reason you can't check one of the boxes then your loan won't get funded. But Rhonda and Marilyn have their own money as well, and if they want they can just underwrite the loan in-house. So now you're dealing with 3 people, not a bureaucratic, shadowy banking machine with seemingly arbitrary and stupid guidelines. And when you're talking about what is probably the biggest purchase you'll ever make, cutting through the BS and getting someone with a brain on the phone sure is nice.
Rhonda got it done, just like she said she would. In the end it almost didn't feel real - I kept waiting for the escrow officer to come in and tell me I needed to get one more form or whatever. But it was real, it did happen, and we love our new home.

Three stars rates exactly as A-OK. I found the service fairly professional, and what I had expected.
Challenges: Lines of communication could have been better- and I was often made to feel like a huge bother when I had an extra question.

Rhonda rocks! I am currently working with her on two transactions for two of my clients and this review reflects a transaction we closed on earlier, and the other two in process. Rhonda and I met and developed a professional relationship through social media, so I love that she speaks my language when updating me on where my clients are in the process. She sends private messages on Twitter and emails me - plus she also picks up the phone and calls. She knows the best way to reach me, and she is always so helpful and friendly. I feel good about referring my clients to her and every one of my clients who have done business with her have been very impressed and pleased with her service. I have no hesitation in referring my home buyers to Rhonda for their mortgage needs. Her communication is informative and timely, and publishes the "pulse" of the local mortgage industry and rates on her informative blog and twitter. We've also found her to be honest in her dealings with our clients.

I had been living abroad and knew that Seattle would be my next US destination so I started periodically perusing the Internet for mortgage deals in Seattle about 1 year ago. I happened upon Rhonda's site and shot her note asking a few questions to which she promptly responded.
After a so-so experience last summer with a local bank that has a mortgage partnership with my company I decided to restart the process this spring and sought out Rhonda.
Though I have purchased homes in 5 different states, Washington State is quite different from anything I've experienced thus far. I was fortunate to have had Rhonda as a guide. The seller and title company designated for closing made a lot of mistakes that , much to my dismay, delayed closing by 3 days. Rhonda and her company called the corporate headquarters and made the closing happen. Even the buyer
