I went this past Tuesday in the early evening and I got a great service with no pushing to up sell or pushing products.

It was a pretty relaxing facial considering I had opted for the peel/extraction variety, which I highly recommend. I think I burned off some fine lines! And my pores look great.

The heated beds are a plus, watch the clock though! They are likely to knock and extra 10 minutes or so off your session, which if your paying $140 for one of the higher end facials is a bummer.

I have never been so disappointed with a massage.  I received a "free aromatherapy with a massage" coupon in the mail, so I decided to try Revive out.  I called them all morning and no one answered.  Since I live close to this spa, I walked over instead.  No one was there!  There was another customer waiting in the lobby, and both of us were annoyed that zero staff were there.  (Apparently, they do not care if all their products are stolen).  I returned in the afternoon to finally find someone at the front desk, booked an hour deep-tissue massage, only to be told that my coupon had an expiration date.  I looked at the coupon and clearly there was NO expiration date.  I pointed this out, but the guy at the front desk still told me I could not use it!

My deep-tissue massage was terrible.  A woman named Nicole just kind of rubbed my skin; it was not deep-tissue at all.  Afterwards, I felt exactly the same as I did when I first went in.  What made me the most upset was that the massage was only 45 minutes, not an hour.  I paid $85 for a 45 minute skin rub!  Needless to say, I did not put down any gratuity.  When I looked at Nicole's card, it said she is a "skin care therapist"...she wasn't even a masseuse.

Lastly, the massage oil they used was cheap peppermint.  So I left Revive smelling like a walking toothpaste.

1 star off: $85 for a light skin rub
1 star off: fake coupons
1 star off: poor customer service
1 star off: smelling like walking toothpaste

I think this "spa" has gone out of business because they had paper in the windows covering the store front & Denver Court papers taped to the door today.

This is a tanning salon not a spa.

When it is actually legal to pay someone to rub your naked body, you hope it will give you that "ooohh ahhh" feeling that makes you feel so happy you just want to fall asleep.... Sooo, when I recently got a massage at Revive Spa in uptown Denver, I was anticipating a full body smoosh that would have me craving more.... I was not that impressed.

The spa is in a good location with FREE two hour meter parking outside the spa; however, I felt like I was at a college training spa.  The front desk service was nice and cordial, but at the same time I felt like I was interrupting her phone call with her friend.

My massage therapist was really a nice girl, but she was missing something.... It is hard for me to describe, but I just didn't feel like her message techniques knocked me off of my feet, she didn't seem all there, and she was kind of pushy with the idea of me becoming a regular client.

The whole spa was just fair, it was not warm and inviting, it was not cozy and therapeutic... I felt like "another client on another snowy day."  The massage was $65 for an hour, but I would of felt more comfortable paying $40.

The spa has nice looking and overpriced products, but I wasn't interested, which is unusual.

Strategy: Don't go here, find another spa.

* One star for their central location
** Star number two for having free two-hour parking

Despite mixed results, Revive Spa lures me back again and again. Maybe it's the location, maybe it's the ease of booking online appointments, maybe it's the Dermalogica products - but for some reason, even when they mess up or piss me off, I keep giving them the benefit of the doubt.

And, happily for me, this rando Pollyanna attitude has finally paid off. For I have finally found Illene, the BEST facialist I've had in many years. Granted, the reason I found her was because they somehow fugged up my booking with the owner Nicole, but still. This chick is, hands down, top-notch. Nice and smart and really on the ball in terms of...uh, skin. And other stuff. She even trimmed my eyebrows. And didn't give me the up-sell at ALL. And the rates are really reasonable. Likey, likey, likey!

But. To give the devil its due, I would advise only to get a facial from her or Nicole. My experiences with two of the other ladies has been pretty craptastic. Mainly because they don't "have the good rooms" so the beds are subpar, and their set-ups don't come with that special sonic zit-blasting wand I like to pretend works. Funny, the prices don't reflect the differences in service...huh! Imagine that.

Also, I've been really underwhelmed by the front desk staff. And the pedicure was "eh" (at high-end ped prices, I guess I assume my feet will be without flaw for the rest of time so maybe I'm not a fair judge) and the one bikini wax I got there was also "eh" but my Dad said he got the best massage of his life at Revive, so...I guess it's hit or miss.

Illene, though? She's a hit. Trust me.

I have had a massage and bikini wax...both were mediocre with large prices.  The massage just didn't have that relaxing quality...maybe because the masseuse was sick and was sniffling every few seconds (not her fault, but not exactly great for a relaxing experience).  Also, I never felt like I was melting, which is my favorite part of a massage.  As stated in my Wax in the City review, the bikini wax was horrid.  Maybe I'm just spoiled with WITC, but I was really dissapointed.  Either way, my experiences here say not worth the money.

i had been here only once before for a mani/pedi that was expensive and just ok. this time, friends gave me a gift certificate and i went for a massage and pedicure for my birthday. i was able to book the appointment online, which i love.

kerrie did my massage and she spent a few minutes before the session asking about trouble spots, activities, preferred pressure, etc.. she seemed very interested in my enjoying the experience. it was really nice and i nearly fell asleep on the heated table. afterwards, she suggested a product to help combat my dry skin and gave me a sheet with well-being tips.

one drawback: there's a clock in the room and i noticed that my "hour" massage was more like 45 minutes.

nicole, the owner, did my spa pedicure. she's very nice and took her time to make sure my feet and toes were fab. the sugar scrub and the paraffin wax made all the difference in giving me supersoft feet. it's been a few weeks and they're still looking great.

also, the strawberry-infused water is a "refreshing" change from the usual cucumber. nice job, ladies.

Went for a simple eyebrow wax. Front desk service was great and inviting. Room for wax was private and calming. Technician was mediocre - I went home and ended up plucking spots she missed, she burnt my skin so I had a little scab for a week. Felt the value was off, $20 for the wax when I had to do 1/4 of the work! Will not go back.
