I went to ReVamp(!) for Hawt on Yelp Week. A $45 Mani/Pedi seemed too good to pass up. I got to the salon, waited in their super comfy waiting room, got my pedicure, got my manicure and left. The lady who did my nails was really nice and made me feel comfortable.
I won't always be able to afford getting my nails done, but I would like to come back here every once in awhile. A major plus for me was the fact that they gave me a follow up call to find out about my experience. When I made a very minor complaint, they apologized and actually sent me a $20 gift certificate. Rock-star customer service can't be beat.
I came to Revamp as a walk in, not knowing anything about the place. I was surely impressed. Here's what happened:
I had an appointment down the street, but the woman said she could not do the cut I was asking for because she did not use a razor. Weird, I have never run into this problem before, but I guess I appreciated her honesty.
So I went and walked into a bunch of other hair salons in the area, most of which were booked. However, Richard at Revamp came to my rescue! They took me in right then and there with no appointment. The girls at the front were VERY helpful. I got such a great cut and great service! Richard has gotten my business from now on.
Yes it is hella expensive to get a manicure here. But the manicures are expert and nothing like any of the nail-polish thinning salons abound in Minneapolis. Lori is the best! Really friendly and easy to talk to and really interesting. She also is an expert manicurist. I usually get my nails done in NY because it's actually cheaper and better there, but Lori would certainly hold her own in NYC.
My nails always look horrible because of the dry air in Minneapolis and this is the only place in Minneapolis where my manicures last. I'm always embarrassed when I come in from another salon...it's so obvious that Revamp is better and it kind of feels like cheating on your stylist and needing them to dye your hair back.
The atmosphere is trendy and relaxing and I always leave with super soft and smooth hands. Plus, I love that my manicures here actually help prevent breakage. Oh yes, and no waiting for your nails to dry under the machine. Lori puts on a special finishing that dries them right up! No nicks to worry about then!
I have been going here for brazilian waxes for years. I won't go anywhere else. Go see Amy or Kami.
I've also had a pedicure (nice, but the same as anywhere else just way more expensive) and a full set (if you're not into natural looking nails then don't bother). I've had a 60-minute massage, too. I enjoyed the massage itself, but the masseuse arrived fifteen minutes late to the appointment, meaning she also cut my massage by fifteen minutes to keep her schedule on time. I found that to be rude, but I would go back for another. I haven't had any of their hair services, but my mother is the pickiest and she wouldn't dream of anyone other than Joelle doing her hair.
The salon/spa is clean, comfortable, upbeat or relaxing (depending which floor you are on) and almost always timely. A little bit expensive but worth it.
