Great hybrid of health food store and small upscale supermarket.

It feels clean and soothing inside. Giant supplement section. Mostly vegetarian with a little meat. I don't quite get the organization but there is always someone around when I need help finding something.

Service is great. They are helpful and friendly. They order special items and take suggestions about things they should keep in stock. Never seems to be a line.

With my restrictions on dairy, wheat, soy, eggs and nuts, this is the bomb. They have a huge section of gluten-free, dairy-free products. The carry products from http://www.thefreecook... which are amazing.

This place seems nice, but I highly doubt I will ever be returning.  I stopped by to check out their selection of tea.  As I was standing there looking, an employee came over to find something.  Without saying a word, he practically pushed me put of the way 3 or 4 times and stepped on my foot. He was very rude and looked at me as if I was the one in the way even though I had been standing there long before he came over.  I'm a big stickler for good customer service and will return to even the most over-priced establishment if the service is stellar.  Unfortunately, my experience here was so negative that I won't be returning and will likely advise others of my experience as well.

If your looking for anything Healthy or Natural this is a must place to go .
Be careful you might walk out with more than you bargained for , like a few bags full of things .

The staff here is super friendly and can offer tons of information & answer any questions you may have . They have even been known to make special orders for you if your interested .

Breads , frozen dinners , side dishes , soups , lots of snacks and produce it's all here and very well organized .  If your looking for loose or bulk Items there are all kinds of goodies for sale :  pumpkin seeds , granola , dried fruit , beans , rice , grains etc. all sold by the pound .

Tea ,Tea ,Tea part of an Isle is dedicated to just tea .

A large selection of Natural Remedies in pill and liquid form along with vitamins and supplements .

Skin care products , they carry several brands along with just about everything Burt's Bees makes .

The soap here OMG they smell amazing good luck choosing just one ,  I was there buying gifts and ended up standing in the middle of the Isle sniffing every kind they had & buying a couple of bars for myself .

If your in the area it is worth a look see .

Return to Eden has a good balance of ingredients and pre-made items. Any store with rennet (vegetarian) as well as kefir and yogurt cultures receives the benefit of any doubt.  Their prices often are on-par with Trader Joe's and YDFM, although occasional items are obscenely more expensive (e.g. almonds, broccoli seeds).

Return to Eden's bulk section seemed better than Sevananda's to me. Items seemed fresher, although I am not the most objective judge. That the smaller bins were more full may have influenced my opinion. That there *was* oatmeal in the bin also may have influenced me. The honey selection is unfortunate.

I tend to twitch whenever faced with "natural" cures and other unsupported claims, but these areas felt minimized here.

The bad part? The "fresh" ginger was moldy. And not in an intentionally fermented sense. Don't rely on the produce. Eggs? Um...

We stopped at Return to Eden today because they seem to be the only place that carries sprouting seeds (I refuse to go to WF if at all possible).

What a neat shop! A terrific selection of gluten free ingredients and products, including some local bakeries. Prices were mostly comparable except for a few things compared to Trader Joe's and Your Dekalb Farmers Market. Those few things, however, were significant. For example, I sure as heck won't be buying raw almonds there! And the produce, well, maybe its better when things are more in season 'cuz it wasn't very appealing right now.

But there is a large selection of bulk goods which is a huge plus, and the folks working there were very nice. It did not feel like a snooty health food store at all. And yes, they have several types of sprouting seeds.

    I'll definitely be coming back!

Very large, clean,  and organized store. They have a huge selection of natural/organic/vegan/gluten-free/awesome vitamins, medicines, frozen food, beverages, kombucha and locally prepared ready-to-eat foods (sandwiches, rolls, baked goods, flax crackers, and sweets). They also have many different brands and versions of the same thing, so you really have options. With a Return to Eden card, you occasionally get vouchers (I just got one for $10) depending on how much you spend there. The staff is friendly and there are always items on sale (esp. when close to expiration).

I usually run in here to grab a kombucha and a R. Thomas quinoa and veggie roll.

This place is a hidden gem!  After searching far and wide in Atlanta for May Wah (look it up!) I discovered they have it!!!!!!!
Not only that but they have all the pre-made sandwiches that I loved snacking on in NYC.
As a native New Yorker I must say that Return To Eden reminds me of the ultra veg-friendly shops in NYC that I miss so much.

A must see for foodies, organic eaters, vegans, vegetarians, Celiacs, and those looking to live a more natural life style.

Return to Eden has an excellent selection of my favorite line of gluten free products - Udi's. They make wonderful granola, whole grain (fresh, not frozen) bread, pizza crusts and other items that make being gluten intolerant and allergic to wheat a bit more bearable.

I've found that the prices aren't too much more expensive than Whole Foods or Kroger on most things, but I really go here more for the items I can't get at other places.

The excellent selling point at Return to Eden is their gluten free specialist, Jennifer. Jennifer followed a gluten free lifestyle long before all these products were available, and she knows her stuff. I read her posts on the Examiner website as well as the Gluten Free Meetup boards, and I've never disliked a product she's endorsed. The rest of the staff is just as helpful and friendly, and I feel good about spending my money here.

Return To Eden...not for me. It's another one of your health food grocery stores that to be quite honest, is just as expensive. I prefer Sevananda and will drive further just to go and get a wider variety of things.

11 weeks ago I was diagnosed as severely Gluten Intolerant .  I had NO idea how I was going to suddenly change my entire junk food diet  to an "organic" diet.   In my mind, "organic" equaled gross, weird and cardboard tasting food.
I was directed to Whole Foods. I cried while eating GF gingersnaps out of a bag. I searched for the GF bakery WF supposedly has.  No luck, i did find frozen baked goods. VERY EXPENSIVE too!   The sweets and frozen entree's got old quick. I then found R2E....... The staff are very very helpful, I also have started learning how to cook GF meals that are easy and tasty!  I had my first sandwich in almost 9 mos. because the bread (UDI'S) actually tasted like bread, stayed together like bread and I am happy as I can be! R2E has saved me! My health and  mental state have improved because R2E makes GF shopping and eating  so easy!  Thank you Return to Eden!!!

Only wish it was a little more price friendly, still its a little better priced than Whole Foods. I highly recommend this store to anyone looking for Gluten Free, Vegan, or Organic items!
The staff there is AWESOME! they are ready to anser just about any question you can throw at them!

Hmm, like everyone before me has said--as someone with gluten sensitivity it is super great to have a store which stocks a wide variety of GF products. They also do a good job labeling and sorting items so that finding the right products for me is quick and easy!

The prices are a little steep, but I really only go there for GF goods anyway, so I'm not breaking the bank on crackers and bread. The store also happens to be in the same shopping center as a Publix, so if you are like me and go to two or three different supermarkets for one grocery order, you don't have to go too far to get the rest of your stuff.

They also offer the "Garden Club" card which is a rewards program that works on the same system as Best Buy or Dick's--for every $250.00 you spend at Return To Eden, you get $10.00 off. So, you get a 4% return--nothing to sneeze at! They give you a little key fob, too, so you don't have to carry around the card in your wallet. Super-duper.

Everyone in the store is really friendly, both employees and patrons alike. Parking is a snap, and I am in and out in under fifteen minutes. Got to love Return To Eden!

    *Edited for grammar. Whoops! :)

R2E is my most beloved grocery store. I've been a customer since they opened in '93, & believe it's the best natual foods grocery in town. It's specialized, so it's not Kroger cheap. But it's cheap compared to the norm for health food.

Everything here is vegetarian (including pet food, unlike Sevananda), so if you're veg shop to your heart's content without label-reading. A huge portion is also vegan. There's a lot of vegan labelling going on, so it's easy to find. Their personal/toiletry items are all free of animal ingredients & not tested on animals. If it's available as organic, they choose organic when they order. Nothing here has artificial colors, fragrances, preservatives, harmful chemicals or artificial sweetners. Do you feel better already?

I'm a frozen-food vegan junkie, & their selection is the biggest in town. (An entire wall is filled with frozen & refrigerated items.) This is the only place I've found in town that sells Chin Hsin products - the BEST fake meat out there. (I have a die-hard carnivore friend who is addicted to their riblets.)

Their personal-care product selection isn't as large as Whole Foods, but the price will be cheaper. Their vitamin, supplement, & homeopathics sections are the biggest & best in the city.

Return to Eden is next to the Tara theater on Cheshire (the store actually faces Lavista/Lindberg.) It's been my favorite for 13 years, & I can't imagine that ever changing.

Best. Gluten-free. Grocery. Store. Ever!!! Friendly staff, good hours, and I have found brands there that I have not seen anywhere else. The variety is amazing. I live in Chattanooga, but I drive down here once a month to stock up on goodies and it is well worth the drive. Return to Eden, YOU ROCK!

We usually shop at Whole Foods & Trader Joes. One time we passed by this place and wanted to give it a try. To think that Whole Foods was a lil more expensive is wrong. This store is too expensive. I have made alot of exact comparisons and they sell them quite expensive in this store. I would have bought at least something from here, but I came out empty handed. I still love Trader Joes. They have the 24-Hour-Tourist-packed place kinda price.

Edit: On top of that, I was surprised they try to sell bad produces. If you think the fresh produce at Walmart/Kroger were bad. This is worse. I saw too many rotten produces. I'm not sure why some people said there were a lot of selections.. because it feels like the smallest store around here.

WOW - just went yet again to Return2Eden - they have gluten-free ravioli! Also just tried the Udi's sandwich bread - amazingly good! Now if I can just find gluten free somewhat flaky croissants, I will simply be completely happy! Anyone know where I can order them? They used to come in from France. In terms of Return to Eden - I am so thrilled because they have an enormous gluten free selection - if you have to eat like this you will be really thankful to have this on your go to list - much better than Trader Joe or whole foods in terms of very deep selection and range.

Friendly staff! Super nice people. They also have Mrs Meyers in scents that I've never seen or been able to purchase anywhere else. I got a Honeysuckle dish soap and they just have an extensive selection of holistic cures and drops of all kinds for your ailments. Love it! I just don't like the atmosphere. I feel stuffy in there, and I also feel like the place isn't fresh. I dnno but for those reasons I don't go as often as i would otherwise. I really do love their "medical" selection though-- second to none that i've found thus far.

I like Return to Eden for few reasons.  First of all, they sell so many different types of seeds, grains, and granola in bulks.  I usually go once or twice a week to get granola for my yogurt.  They taste great!  This fairly large organic grocery also sells a variety of raw food.  I only tried the Raw Pad Thai, which was somewhat unexpected.  I thought it tasted fine, but my boyfriend absolutely hated it.  (My boyfriend isn't the health-conscious one.)  They also sell many pet items - from homemade biscuits to mineral supplements.  The staff is friendly and want to help you out any way they can.  Also, you can specially order specific items through Return to Eden - which is great for people with dietary restrictions.

Great resource for interesting healthy food that isn't available elsewhere. Many reviews have mentioned the gluten free selection, but there is also a good selection of prepared raw foods, and vegan products in the "dairy" and frozen food section. There bulk herb section is great! I've found things I can't find anywhere else in town (burdock root, bulk poppy seeds reasonably priced.)

At one point I was calling around town for a special type of pectin for making jelly - one that sets without any sugar at all, and while they didn't have it, they were the only store to express interest in it and consider adding it to their stock. (I checked with the supplier later; it doesn't appear to be available in any store in Atlanta.) They may have even done so since then; I never checked, as I ended up ordering a supply online.

As others have noted, the biggest drawback here is that the prices are quite a bit higher than anywhere else. (Aside from those bulk herbs!) The produce section is also quite small, but that doesn't bother me much. A lot of places now carry some organic produce, so there is a lot more competition for that space, and the veggies can go bad much faster than other products.

Its really fun to wander the aisles here to find products I've never seen and tried before.

I can't believe that I haven't been to Return to Eden before now. They have all of the random little things, like whole wheat pie crusts, whole wheat gnocchi, juices, bars, stevia flavors and more and the best thing is that it's so convenient you can run in and out and not have to mess with a large store or crowded parking lot. This will be my first stop in Atlanta for natural foods from here on out.

The food slection here is succulent, natural, and fresh...I suppose that's reminiscent of the Garden of Eden. This might be paradise for a vegan, but I would not go out of my way to shop here. The merchandise caters to those healthy consumers that demand good taste and quality produce. However, it's a bit of a distance from my place and not outstanding enough to keep me coming back.

I love Return to Eden.  I normally would go to Whole Foods or Sevananda when looking for healthy purchases to eat or hair/body products but have discovered RTE. It is a little bit of a drive from my house and I wasn't quite sure where it was until I saw a lady in the parking lot (NO LIE) with super long, gray pigtails on each side of her head in a long dress getting into a car with lots of stickers and ornaments that completely covered it. Like straight out of a Peter, Paul and Mary concert or Woodstock. I figured I was in the right place. The store has beauty products, a small section of fresh fruit/veggies, dry goods and products in the dairy and freezer case.  I went looking for gluten free products and they have one of the best selections I have seen in Atlanta.  In general there is a great selection of organic, vegan and other healthy food and body products. The staff is friendly and helpful.  If you are on the gluten free thing try the Udi's products.  The bread and muffins are great!

What a wonderful little grocer. I stumbled in one day to see what they offered and I was so blown away by the depth and variety in such a small space. Every grain you can think of. Always wonderful looking produce. LOTS of choices for the vegan diet. Wonder healthy snack options. Spices and flavorings are natural. Pricing is not always kind but its hard to compare when there are not a lot of stores that are stocked with wholly natural and/or organic options. Two thumbs and two big toes up!!!!
