Standard P.T.   Their hours of operation can accommodate any work schedule.  The equipment is not new, but it works just fine and doesn't look dated.  Appointments start with 10min heat pack.  After that, the therapist massages and uses ultrasound, if appropriate.  Exercises follow, and the appointment finished with electric stimulation.

I like how the staff is friendly.  There are also a bunch of current magazines to pass the time.  I don't like how every appointment was different for me, with each therapist giving different exercises.  This inconsistency confused me.  I also did not like how the exercises went mostly unattended.  With the exception of Steven, the therapists would massage, and then just send me off for my exercises, without monitoring me or giving me directions.  I think this is due to the fact that they are understaffed, or maybe because they move a lot of people through their office.  The individual care suffers so that they can stay on schedule.

In the end, this practice is good enough, but I wouldn't go out of the way to go to Restore.  I have (unfortunately) been to many physical therapists, and Restore was standard except for the personal care given to each patient (which is, to me, the most important aspect).

I forgot to give a shout out to the office staff, Carmela and Mildred.  They are warm, polite, helpful ladies -- in short, wonderful.

Since its inception, RESTORE Physical Therapy has been owned and operated by Steven L. Braverman, PT CEAS and has been providing this local community specialized care in the treatment of surgical and non-surgical orthopaedic, sports and spinal injuries.

Our mission is as follows: to maximize our patients' recovery from illness, injury and/or disease in a challenging yet safe environment; to act as advocates on behalf of our patients when interacting with their insurance company; to be promptly on-schedule, courteous and respectful to our patients; and to offer competitive pricing to those who are not insured.

RESTORE has a state-of-the-art physical therapy gym as well as a full line of modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, iontophoresors and spinal traction.

Meet the Business Owner: Steven L. Braverman, PT CEAS B.

Thank you for browsing RESTORE Physical Therapy. I am proud to have conceived RESTORE in 1993 and hope that should you need rehab services you will consider this office.

I am a native of Long Island and have always had a love for NYC. It is no wonder that I opened my office right next to Penn Station/LIRR so that I could continue to enjoy the best of both worlds.

I am a graduate of SUNY Stony Brook's PT program in 1987. Prior to opening RESTORE I was employed at the Hospital For Special Surgery and various private practices in New York City. My subspecialty is Ergonomics and have successfully taken many ergonomic courses at the highly respected Back School of Atlanta.

My staff of therapists are all experienced and highly skilled in the field of sports medicine and orthopaedics and are just as excited as I am to help guide our patients throughout their recovery.
