We got a room through Priceline for a great price.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful in letting us check-in early. The room was quite nice, comfortable for long stays. It had a full kitchen (pots, pans, spatulas, utensils, dishwasher etc.), pull-out couch, comfortable bed, shower with nice water pressure (the water can get quite hot!). Wake up for the free buffet breakfast (Scrambled eggs, sausage, seasoned home fries, waffles, biscuits, hot oatmeal, fresh fruit)!

The hotel will even pick up groceries for you if you make a list. They have weekday social hours (at the hotel) and a suggested meals calendar posted on the fridge. This location is a quick walk to the White House and monuments, the Macpherson metro terminal, and the Circulator bus ($1 fares). CVS located downstairs.

Biggest Con: No wireless.  Bring a wireless router with you to plug into the modem if need it.

Biggest Pro: Excellent kitchen.

Front Desk: Always very polite and accommodating.  Helped with baggage, even stored it for a few hours before we could check in.  Flagged down multiple cabs for us.  Requested extra towels on our reservation, called the front desk about it, asked the front desk about it and never received them.

Housekeeping:  Never bothered us when we had our "Later please" sign up, did a great job cleaning.  Probably partially, if not fully, to blame about the towel situation.  No room service, and breakfast is only from 6-9.  Papers are only available in the lobby, nothing brought to your room.

Noise Level: Tons of road noise on any room facing out, we had the superior suite corner unit first, really hard to fall asleep due to the noise.  Second room faced out to the alley, no road noise, but we were right next to the housekeeping room, and holy crap were they loud.

Suite Quality: Peeling wallpaper, worn carpet, bowing bathtub, exposed wall in the cabinets, half the phones didn't work, light switches didn't control the lamps.  Appliances worked great, and the bed was very plus and comfortable.  Biggest problem is that the key cards barely worked, half the time the lock didn't even read them, the other half the latch would catch and not open.  Keys did not open common areas.

TLDR: No wireless, no room service, worn down rooms, bad keys, but polite staff and nice location, beautiful view of some old churches and statues.

The first thing about this hotel is the location - excellent.  Walk two blocks to the Metro, one or two more and you're at the White House.  Walk to the north and you're at Q St. with restaurants, a Whole Foods Market, etc.
The rooms are large, the bed was comfortable, and having the kitchen gives you options instead of eating out all the time.  The staff was accomodating.  The TV is dated (not digital), no iPod docking radio, so it doesn't have the amenities of a regular Marriott, but it does have it's pluses.

This hotel met everything and beyond expectations!  We were able to check-in early and they allowed us to check-out late.  This hotel is only a walk away from the Metro Station, the White House and the National Mall.  We stopped by their front desk on numerous occasions to ask for directions or recommendations on getting to a specific location in the D.C. area.  Their employees were always friendly and very helpful.  One evening when we ordered pizza, they even called our room to notify us that the delivery guy arrived at the hotel and he would be at our hotel room shortly.  The continental breakfast was very good, but quite crowded during our weekend stay.  As for the room, we were able to get a suite at a killer on-line deal.  It was new, large, clean, and the internet connection was free, which is always a huge plus.  It's so rare to have such a satisfying hotel experience, you know that you'll never have another one in a very long time.  This was the high standard goal that all hotels should try and achieve, but most will never achieve it.  I had such a pleasant stay here and I will definitely book a room here again the next time I'm back in Washington D.C. area.

I've not stayed at a Residence Inn before, but if I plan to stay at a place longer than two days, I would opt for it. This particular hotel has obviously been remodeled recently, and is even self-described as having had work done recently on its website. The furniture is nice and new, the kitchens are decent and well-stocked with cookware, crockery and cutlery. The refrigerator is clean and very accommodating.

The staff is very friendly, and the free buffet style breakfast can't be passed up, even if the selection is somewhat limited. It's excellently spaced for sight-seeing, only a few blocks from the White House and the National Mall. It's also a scant few blocks from the McPherson Square metro station, which opens up all sorts of possibilities. Several Zipcars are nearby as well if you want to go somewhere the metro does not.

Just stayed here for almost two weeks.  First off, it looks at though it went through a recent remodel, so the furniture, bathrooms, and kitchens were a definite step up compared to some of the other Residence Inns I've been to.  Also, like all other Residence Inns, the room had a good amount of space, with a sizable living area and kitchen.  The hotel itself didn't seem that busy and was pretty quiet the whole time I was there.  There are times when the street noise gets to be a bother, so if you're looking for a place where you can sleep in, this isn't it.  There's also the free buffet breakfast and the occasional dinner offered.  I would probably stay here again if it wasn't for the fact that this hotel is pretty off the beaten path of where I like to stay, which is the Dupont area.  Also, my friend came for the weekend and to get an extra room key he just walked up to the front desk and asked for one.  They didn't ask his name, verify the name on the room, nothing.  They just gave him a key, which didn't sit too well with me.
