I spent the day here for an asset management conference, so I didn't get the feel for the rooms (which, from the other reviewers, sound fine - clean and comfortable).

But, I did get to experience the front desk help and the lobby decor and the conference services.  The folks at the front desk were helpful and pointed out the free amenities (coffee and paper) for someone (me) who arrived at the conference about 1 hour early (my personal traffic avoidance technique).  The conference services seemed adequate, though I would not say they are above average in an way.  The food was decent, the drinks were acceptable.  Nothing was outstanding and nothing was bad.  Just a real good 3 star experience.

The decor - I am not sure how to even describe it.  Sort of hip modernity meets Alice in Wonderland.  It wants to be a W hotel, but there is no way it ever will be.  Bizzare leather, stupid uncomfortable cushions, silly high back chairs.  I have to wonder at why they hire the interior designers they hire.  Not sure what they were going for so I can't say if they reached it, but my experience is something of...  "What?"

Another steal on Priceline, I stayed here coincidentally for the same price as another reviewer $38/night!  Our plan was originally to stay within San Francisco, however we saved enough money staying here to far more than make up for the cost of the BART tickets.

Everything, and I mean every detail of this place has been recently redone.  The room was brand spanking new including carpets, drapes, television, bathroom fixtures, flooring, etc.

I'm really liking this new trend in standard hotels where they don't use a full comforter.  Instead the beds are just white sheet covered duvets, and in lieu of a comforter there's a bed width sham at the end of the bed which adds a nice color accent.  I like this because we all know they don't wash the comforters very often.

Continental and limited hot breakfast is included, and the hotel is very convenient to the 580 freeway and the BART.

Update!

The boyfriend and I stayed here last week and booked a 1 bedroom. As expected-lovely as ever! The only "dissapointment" (really if you want to call it that) that it was a little smaller than the studio.

But who cares? It's really clean, nice, neat and relaxing to stay at.

I got this hotel through Priceline - $38/night!  Woohoo!  Beat that!

I was worried it would be noisy, given how close it is to 580.  It's not.  At least, our 3rd floor room facing away from the freeway was quiet.  We were even next to the elevator, which my husband assumed was the "Priceline room".  I never heard a thing.

The room was a studio but frankly, I think the square footage was the same as a 1 bedroom we've had at another R Inn, just without the wall and the second tv - which would have been nice with the kids.  But the cool thing was they had a big (42 inch maybe) flat-screen on a dresser in the middle (where the wall would have been) and it swiveled 180 degrees!  Very cool!  You could sit on the couch and watch, or lie on the bed and watch.

Typical RI breakfast buffet.  When I asked if they had trays so I could take stuff up to my kids, they said no, but then the one nice lady brought a cardboard something out for me to use.

The pool area was clean and deserted.  They brought out stacks of fresh towels while we were in the hot tub (with our friends and their 4 kids ... that weren't staying there, but they brought their own towels, whatever).

Easy access from all directions and the mall is just across the street if you're in to that.

I paid $45 a night on Priceline. I guess I should have tried $38...

If 2.5 stars were available I probably would have chosen that. The reception smelled like someone had been cooking curry sauce. Nothing wrong with curry, it just seems out of place in reception. The instructions for driving to my building were not clear, so I ended up in the wrong building looking for my room.  I think it was a 300 room number and it turns out there are 2 buildings with 300 number rooms, but neither one was clearly marked. How did this happen? Seems like there are enough numbers in the world to give each building a unique set...

Aside from that, the room was clean, although there was a hair in the tub. I've read that travelers get weired out by stuff like that, and while it really didn't bother me, I did remember that leftover from the prior visitor. Glad it wasn't anything else...

Overall, it is a bargain at the $45 I paid, and more so if you get if for $38.
