When visiting the folks in OC, I like to stay at the Marriott at CSUF. But this time we were staying for five days, so I needed to be more frugal.

My parents stayed here once for four months after their roof caved in and they were displaced. Sort of traumatic but insurance paid for it all and now  their little cottage is better than ever.

Anyway, I knew what to expect. Nothing fancy but nice people, free (and not gross) breakfast, and big rooms. Plus they take dogs. Not too easy to find.

We had a perfect stay with them. We had a kitchen to prepare snacks and breakfast when we were too lazy to get out of bed before 9am. Our dog was treated with smiles and coos. And the rate was unbelievable. $99/night with free internet access.

I do have to complain about the beds though. They are nothing like the typical Marriott beds. The mattress was smushy and uncomfortable, and having a bad back, it was painful to get up in the morning. But the next day they put a board in between the mattress and the box spring, so no more pain.

All in all, it's a great deal, and the service rivals any 4 star hotel. So on your next trip to Orange County, check it out. It's only 6 miles from Disneyland, and you won't have to deal with all the ruckus of tourists and their kids.
