This Residence Inn is a nice alternative to the Fairfield Inn Marriott, or the Courtyard Marriott if you don't mind being slightly further away from the NAU Campus!

As I've noted in my Fairfield review, these Marriotts are all very well kept and their owners are current with the necessary updates.  One of the worse feelings for a traveler is checking into a hotel and finding it  dimly lit and looking like it hasn't been updated since it was built.  These three Marriotts look good.

This Residence Inn is about five miles away from the NAU Campus depending on which road you take, either Route 66 or I-40.  It is certainly more quieter than the downtown locations and we've found it very relaxing and peaceful.  The only drawback to this location is the necessity to go into town for dinner or to visit the school.  That said, the rooms have a sitting area with a fireplace and a flat screen TV; and as the photos show they also have a kitchenette area.

All  the bathrooms were clean as was the kitchenette upon arrival.  We found the beds to be new and somewhat soft which we liked.

So, if you want a nice weekend getaway in Flagstaff I would recommend this hotel.  If you're looking for a hotel nearer to the action, then you should opt for one of the other two Marriotts.

This Residence Inn is very nice.   We'll be back!

Huge kudos to the staff at RI Flagstaff, especially Ryan and Lois who went out of their way to accommodate us.  We called at 4am from the Rim at the Grand Canyon  explaining that we would have an injured hiker arriving from the hospital some time that morning.  The suite was available when she arrived at 8 am.  They brought up some breakfast snack for her and went to 3 different pharmacies to fill her prescription.  Take about going above and beyond.  Cheers and kudos to the staff.  Than you, thank you!

Rooms are worn and in desperate need of refurbishing.
Relative to other hotels it over charges for dogs.

Stayed in the hotel this weekend for two nights. Summary: dirty, noisy, dingy, old, disgusting.

Cigarette burns in the carpet. Stains on the towels and curtains.  Dirty dishes and unwashed coffee pot when we got into the room. Road noise was so loud that I couldn't sleep (literally 20 feet from the highway, with very thin walls). No wireless internet access in the room.

This was nowhere close to the quality I've come to expect from Marriott's residence inns. I would NEVER stay at this place again; it was disgusting. Spend your money elsewhere

Overall this hotel is a 5 (I stayed there for over 2 weeks for work).  The staff is very friendly (especially Angel).  There are these happy hours during the week which is a nice touch... they have some snacks and cookies.

The only complaint i have is that the rooms need to be upgraded.  They seem a little old fashioned.

This Residence Inn Marriott is slightly outside Flagstaff just off Interstate 40 and a little less than 2 hours away from the Grand Canyon and a mile away from the former Route 66.  The nice woodsy location is next to a golf course.

Hotel room was clean and the hotel staff pleasant and polite.  The included breakfast buffets are not haute cuisine but perfect for families with small kids.

Overall very nice, but the room smelled a bit like smoke (it was non smoking) and it was ridiculously hard to find...do NOT put it in your gps, it will take you to a residence with the same address! Complimentary breakfast was yummy with delish DIY waffles and fruit compotes and whipped cream!

Place is older than you might think.  Fairly clean though, friendly staff at the desk, and a modest breakfast buffett with eggs, waffles, home fries, etc. along with Continental options.  Spacious rooms with mini kitches would be great for families.  Seemingly nice area too, which can be a concern at other Flagstaff hotel locations.

Pretty clean, pretty quiet, pretty easy to find.  No minibar!?  Great continental breakfast (they even put jalapenos out to go with the eggs and there is batter to make fresh belgian waffles with).  There are some nice walking paths in the back and a dog park filled with crazy prairie dog like creatures that are fun to watch.  I even saw a lazuli bunting on the trails in the back!  If you have a little extra cash to throw around, Little America has nicer rooms and amenities, but if you are looking for a cheaper room that is still acceptable, this place will do.  Also, if you are going for an extended stay, this place would be good choice because it has kitchenettes with fridge, microwave, etc.

Residence Inn has never let me down -- until today.  Mind you, it is a Sunday in a nowhere-near-full hotel. We arrived well after check in time & were told our room was not ready. I would think, with a guest waiting, employees would get to that to that room a.s.a.p.
Two hours later, we were still waiting. Finally we made it to our room.
This must be one of the last Residence Inns to be remodeled, although the current accommodations are adequate.
Still, the usual Marriott touches were missing, for instance there were no notepads or pens near the phones or on the desk or anywhere in the room. And, for a place like the Residence Inn, which boasts a "fully equipped kitchen," there was one spoon, two cups, three forks.
The front desk help was kind and helpful and even comped us a movie for our wait. Nevertheless, being a frequent Residence Inn guest, I must say this one just doesn't equal my experience at the others.
Most distressing & as a Marriott rewards member, I am even more upset.
