10 reviews for Residence Inn by Marriott
this is like a 4.5 stars. I can't really think of many areas where I would deduct points, but it's not the absolute nicest hotel I've stayed at, so it'll have to be a 4 star.
This is a smaller residence inn where everything is connected - like a larger hotel - other residence inns I've been to are basically apartments turned into hotels...each have their own strengths, but what's good about this setup is that the walk to the lobby isn't too far (especially good for breakfast).
Even the small rooms have refrigerators, microwaves and toasters. Plus it's nice to have a separate living room and bedroom in case you want to have more than one couple stay in a room. They give free internet and there's a free breakfast buffet every morning (it's better if you wake up early. we got there at 8:45 and most everything was gone and just soso...when we got there early, the food was much better)
Sure it's a 15 (or much more) minute drive to the city, but I think it's worth it for the comfort, free parking and space.
Recently stayed here during Labor day weekend from Friday through Monday and really it's more like 3.5 stars.
The room was clean and comfy but we were right next to the Caltrain tracks and you could hear the train passing through :(
Also, I asked for extra blankets and a pillow. It felt like it took the staff two hours just to get that. On top of that, the blankets were old looking and had holes..hmm?
Good points are that they have wi-fi and a complimentary airport shuttle. There is also a computer and printer in the lobby which I didn't see until we were leaving. They also had a small gym with two treadmill machines that looked new :) Parking is free!
The hotel also isn't walking distance to any coffee shops or restaurants. You would have to take a car to Grand Ave.
Within a 5-10 min. drive you can find target (greatland?), costco, trader joe's, peet's coffee, safeway, and some small markets/places to eat.
The rates are decent with a promo code ;)!
I stayed here recently, on a "Staycation" . I loved the Internet connection, daily Wall Street Journal, New York Times and S.F. Chronicle. The free food does not hurt either.
Eggs, waffles, fruit, and yogurt ...etc for breakfast superb each and everyday. If you come on a non-weekend day, one can enjoy evening appetizers Hospitality Hours. We ate dinner in downtown South City on Grand Ave. Coffee and Tea are available 24/7.
Since this is for extended stay purposes, rooms are equipped with kitchens, cooking utensils and dining table. Ironing board and the free service of compiling a shopping list and having your groceries picked up for you.
The view of the bay water is the best location for a room. There is a walking trail that passes via the 3 marinas located off the series of office parks located in the area. There is also an outdoor pool, exercise room and basketball court.
There is a choice of different size rooms. We stayed in a 2 room suite and got a great rate booking directly on the Marriott website.
I'll be back!

The service here was exemplary. Well, I'm saying that because come 2am on the night we were to check in, I get a call from the front desk asking me if we were still planning to check in that evening. Lucky thing that she called since I had no idea how to get to the hotel from the Tenderloin of San Francisco! The woman gave me clear directions on getting there, and once we did get there, she gave us a free upgrade to a suite. Awesome. :-) (Especially awesome since I was using my Marriott points for the stay.)
The suite itself wasn't huge, but you can't fault the cleanliness of it nor the newness. The queen-sized bed was comfortable, and we were out like a light as soon as we touched heads to our down pillows.
Oh, and thanks for the complimentary bag of microwave popcorn! Sure was thoughtful of them to staunch our late night hunger pangs. :-)
Residence Inn, thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Some friends and I spent this weekend in the city because we went dancing at the Starlight Room and decided to make it a side trip.
Part of the plan was to stay at the Broadway Manor Inn (I will be posting a review about them as well). However, things did not turn out well and we canceled our reservation.
One of my friends asked if the Residence Inn was available because she'd stayed in the past. It turned out to be the best change of plans.
Despite checking in after 2AM, we were able to secure a gorgeous 2-bedroom suite with comfy beds, huge bathrooms, an awesome kitchen and dining room setup and my personal favorite, a 24-7 snack bar area. It was like a sophisticated mini-mart: You could get microwave meals, wine and Hagen Dazs bars, among other things.
The rate was extremely reasonable and turned out to be less per person than our original choice.
If you will be taking a trip out of SFO, don't let the fact that this is an extended-stay property take them out of the running. They have complementary shuttles that will take you to the airport. If your budget allows, I recommend checking into this place a day before you're set to leave. It really does have the comforts of home.
My friends and I had such a positive experience that we're itching to stay there again for a long weekend. You don't even have to leave your room if you want to! They have a free service where they will shop for and deliver groceries right to your room! In addition, they have a room service menu with many yummy selections.
Although considered an airport property, this actually is located midway between SFO and the city. Accommodations are in studio, one-, and two-bedroom (two-bath) apartments, all with kitchens larger and better equipped than you'll find in many San Francisco apartments. Decor is simple but attractive, and amenities include a fireplace, dual-line phones with voice mail, cable TV with premium channels, free high-speed Internet access, iron and ironing board, and hairdryer. Rack rates, starting at $139 for a studio, $149 for a 1BR, and $179 for a 2BR, include a substantial breakfast buffet.

I've stayed here a few times, a couple for work. I even decided to book this place once with friends for the weekend because I enjoyed the stays here for work and we needed a place to stay when a friend was visiting from out of town. The hotel is really cozy, you get a bedroom, a living room with a sofa bed and tvs in both rooms. ANDDD You get a nice kitchen! Plus you get complimentary all you can eat breakfast every morning. You can make your own waffles at the comp breakfast with the belgain waffle maker that turns... FUN! :)

Nice, clean, hotel currently undergoing new renovations. Rooms were spacious, kitchen had the basics, and rooms were decorated with new, modern (but comfortable) furniture. Includes free breakfast and location is in close proximity to the airport. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Only problem was that you could hear trains go by all day. If you're a light sleeper, recommend getting a room further away from the freeway and railroad tracks. No train horns or anything, but you can hear them go by every now and then. You'll probably want to request rooms away from any of the hotel construction too.

I stayed here one night for work and it was mediocre. No complimentary shampoo/lotion/soap & bad view (you see the freeway). They did however had free internet access which was easily accessible. The complementary breakfast was good too. I guess I just expect more out of a hotel.
Ok, ok, So I gave it five stars and I work here! But seriously, it's what this place deserves. I can tell you first hand that our staff is AMAZING. Truly if you want people who are going to cater to you and make you feel like you are on top of the world come here! We have great management so therefore you get great staff!! Our housekeepers are the nicest everr! They are so sweet and polite! Everyone here is on top of their game, our goal is to make our guests family. Plus, we have FREE breakfast and FREE social hour in the evenings. Alot of the guest here are like my family. so trust when you come here youre going to get treated with a great deal of respect not only that but you'll get treated like family. I know its pretty pricey, but we have really good weekend rates! And for the great service its definitely worth the price I can promise you, you'll love your stay!
