If you are undergoing treatment at the nearby Seattle cancer center this is THE place to stay.  The center is two blocks away and the Residence Inn is a good substitution for home.  The two bedroom apt are spacious and well equipped with new/clean and comfortable furniture.  The Inn takes care of all housekeeping duties including grocery shopping and putting the goods away.

Breakfast is every morning and dinner is available 4 nights a week.  The only bummer is the daily parking rate and coin operated washer/dryer.  For $1200 a week I would think that would be included.  BUT, that is the only little teeny tiny issue.  The front desk/houskeeping staff are lovely.

We had a great experience at this Marriott this past September when two of my friends and I were in town for a wedding. We chose this hotel over the only slightly more expensive (courtesy of Priceline) hotel downtown. Getting downtown was a snap due to the trolley outside and cabs on the way home.

We expected this Marriott would have more room for the three of us, and boy did it ever. It was bigger than my one bedroom apartment back in Boston!  The living room kitchen area was functional and spacious, the bedroom was large, and the bathroom conveniently had the sinks outside of the toilet and shower area (crucial when three women are primping and preening for said wedding). The sofa bed in the living room was fairly comfortable, or so said the friend who slept on it, and the TVs in both rooms were huge.

My favorite part of our stay, however, was the fish we "rented" for the duration of our stay. Yes!! We had a PET!!! It was a Beta fish, or siamese fighter, and his name was Cecil. For just $5 total for our three nights, we benefited from the joys of Cecil's company. He was quiet, but we shared some insightful gazes. All of the proceeds of the fish rental were donated to the nearby cancer hospital for children, which gave us a warm and fishy feeling in our hearts.

The downsides of our stay were as follows:
- The breakfast rush in the morning. Dude. It's just free pancakes and eggs, no need to push. I'd skip this and spend the extra dough on 13 Coins. It's way tastier, and more relaxing.

- The fire alarm 1 hour before we were supposed to leave for the wedding. Hard core standing outside waiting for the firemen fire alarm. Once it was apparent there was no fire, just a piece of burnt toast, we snuck back inside to finish our preparations.

All in all, I'd totally return to this place, especially if it were for more than one night, and I was with more than one other person. 4 stars.

In a nutshell:

*For only $119 a night, you can't beat it.
*The room was a mini-suite w/ a kitchen, living room and separate bedroom w/ a KING bed.  Everything was very new and hip.
*The breakfast in the morning was spectacular.  They served buffet style scrambled eggs, toast, waffles, pancakes, fruits, cereal, sausages and a variety of juices.
*The gym was very new and the equipment was excellent, especially the treadmill.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AND WILL STAY AGAIN NEXT TIME I VISIT SEATTLE :)

I really liked this place.  Very friendly staff, nice spacious suite room, clean and very updated gym facility at very affordable price.
Their buffet style breakfast is spectacular!  You can make your own waffles, great eggs, sausages, pancakes, hash brown, baked goods, cereal bar, and all sorts of condiments.  Fresh brewed coffee served all day long.  It's about a mile away from heart of downtown area but public transportations make it really easy for you to get there.  Nice view of space needle and lake union from our room.
If I ever come back to Seattle, I would stay here again.

Wow...Janeane S. took the words right out of my mouth.  I guess I'll just add the other things I noticed during my 3-night stay here this past weekend.

One suite can easily sleep 4 people.  (You'll just have to plan your time in the bathroom accordingly.)  We had a no-smoking sign on the balcony too, but it's because we were on a no-smoking floor.  I'm sure they allow smoking on the balcony of the smoking floors.  Our room had a sofa-bed, not a fold away bed/cot.  It also had a TV in the bedroom (as well as living room).

The majority of the customers who stay here are on business trips or are in-between homes.  So the apartment-like feel comes in very handy.  The kitchen has everything you need from pots/pans to utensils to a dishwasher.  There is even coin operated laundry, grocery service and free WiFi (in the rooms...you have to pay for it in the lobby).

The complimentary breakfast is served daily.  'Til 9am M-F and 10am Sat-Sun.  We ate it every morning.  It was honestly one of the best hotel meals I've had.  (And I've had breakfast buffets at 5-star hotels.)  My favorites were the waffle makers and potatoes.  The scrambled eggs were also yummy...odd for a hotel, I know.  The lobby has 24-hour coffee, tea, hot chocolate and apple cider.

The indoor pool, spa and dry sauna area is a bit small, but the hotel IS only 7 stories, so they must not expect many people in it.  This was my first experience in an indoor spa.  After less than 5 minutes, my eyes were burning so bad I had to sit up top.  I guess it's the chlorine?  The gym is next to the pool and also quite small...but free.  This may be the first hotel I stayed at with a free gym.

I'm taking my rating down a star because of the inaccuracy of the information we received during our stay.  We were first told (by a new desk clerk) there was no shuttle service.  The next morning we're walking to the bus stop and the shuttle driver asks us if we want a ride.  What?  The shuttle runs every 30 minutes 'til 5:30pm and has various stops downtown.  (The driver was super-nice.)  Game day however, somehow the last shuttle was at 2:30pm.  No one felt it necessary to tell us that.  They also offer to call a town car to the airport for $30 (another piece of info we were told last minute), which is about how much a cab ride would cost with no traffic...but the town car is more comfy, so use it.

This is the second Marriott Residence Inn location I've stayed at.  I'd do it again for the awesome price and the "apartment-like feel".  Who needs fancy, smancy hotels?  Not me.  I'm all about the free food and services.

The Residence Inn is a pretty decent 2.5 star hotel.  Especially for the price, which is typically $129 - $139/night for a large one-bedroom suite w/kitchen.  The facility itself is solidly mediocre.  Don't expect elgance or glamour.  It's certainly no Fairmont Olympic, or hell, even Hotel Vintage Park, but for the money, I think you really get a lot and that's what makes this place so great.

First off, the suites are really big!  It's almost a full-sized one bedroom apartment.  The living room was spacious, with one couch, coffee table, tv, side chair, and fold away bed/cot.  There's even a balcony!  (But the sign says you can't smoke on it.)  The kitchenette has two burners, a full-sized sink, and full-sized fridge (perfect for keeping beer and beverages cold!).  The bedroom is also large, with a king bed, two nightstands, and a desk.  The bathroom is also spacious!  The whole place had a very roomy feel, which is a nice change of pace from your average hotel room.

Also a nice touch was a little convenience store in the hotel lobby, where you can buy snacks, frozen dinners, and medication.  They have a pool and hot tub too, but I didn't check them out.  They also have a complimentary hot breakfast buffet in the lobby, featuring scrambled eggs, sausage patties, and potatoes.  They also have cereal, bagels, waffles, and juice.  The worst part is that breakfast only lasts until 10am(!).  The food really isn't great, but remember, it's FREE.  Another perk is that there's plenty of street parking along the side streets, so you can avoid those ridiculous parking charges typical of most downtown hotels!

The location is also awesome.  It's close to everything:  downtown, Belltown, Queen Anne, U District (sort of), Capitol Hill, etc.  And it's right across the street from Chandler's Cove, which offers a plethora of dining options, including Daniel's Broiler, Joey's, I Love Sushi, Hooters, Bluwater Bistro, Chandler's Crabhouse, and Duke's.

They also make some people sign a "Party Agreement" where you agree to abide by the quiet hours that start at 11pm.

In short, I recommend this hotel because you get a lot of bang for you buck.

4.5 to be fair, but i am open for negotiations.

so we were just in seattle for one hell of a wedding. i should know, i officiated it.  woohoo as i exclaimed! i meant it.

so we got in at midnight exhausted and almost delirious, we made it ok after our harrowing flight over canada as all of the US was embattled with a hurricane.

so we check in, get our room and start to decompress/whatever you call it, when a gentleman who was at the front desk complaining about the party on his floor comes into the room. my guess was that the staff at the front at the time of coding our roomkeys forgot to point that out in the computer that that happend and gave this odd fellow a copy of our room key too.  boy were our faces red!  well needless to say wifey thought 10% room deduction was in order, to be frank i agreed, however only was able to get 'im really sorry" from the front desk.

well after sleeping it off and awaking at 6am pst. 9 est for my brain, i decided to check out their breakfast buffet.  this is included in the room, which we had a wedding rate. the room itself was great, granite, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, i mean you could live in there but without an oven.  anyway not to digress, the breakfast spread was sweet. i got there early enough to get pick of the litter.  i got me a nice breakfast, swiped a free paper, 4 cups of semi good coffee and a tray for mers breakfast with some fresh fruit and whatnots..yum!

so after they helped us find the correct bus into the university district (piece of cake with a transfer) we were hanging out in the sweet suite and a knock camea wrapping and at the door was a hotel staff with a gift bag. i at first thought it was a welcome bag for the wedding (you know water and snackies, well it wasnt.  it was from the staff on duty from the other night with a hand written apology with some waters and candy. weird, but welcomed. not as good as 10%, but now were talking equality.

at 3pm they had cookies

the next night was the wedding. i couldnt make it up to the honeymoon suite for afterhours as i was already 2.5 sheets and i had to see the fey/palin sketch(i called it 3 weeks ago folks!)  but the next day we got up there and man oh man, you have the best view of the bay, lake, hills, bridge, needle everything! fantastic!

so anyway, it was way worth the money, the location is fine, parking is 20 bucks a night, but you can even use the public transportation (the bus drivers were incredibly nice )

close to 5 stars, maybe if we didnt have the weird guy come into our room......
