3 reviews for Residence Inn by Marriott
In this area, this is an amazing hotel. It is also one of the best (and recently built/upgraded) Residence Inn's I have been to. It is more like a small apartment, the staff is super friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious, clean, well furnished, comfy and overall a total dream come true after the 1st two nights I spent at the Extended Stay (omg that was like horror fest 09).
Check-in was a breeze, got to our 2br suite and was really happy with the results of our upgrade. Kudos to Marriott! Of course this is a "Residence Inn" so there will be no room service, nope. Expect to make a trip to the supermarket (which is only about 5min from there) and pick up some things for snackin...but there is a "Market" area down in the lobby which has a few things if you have a late night craving or are just too lazy to go out and get anything. lol And if you are there Mon-Wed then you will have the chance to dig in on the BBQ offered.
There is on-site laundry facility (coin operated, $1.25 to wash, $1.00 to dry), a library which has a computer (but you can not insert any flash drives, or CD's just an FYI), printer and area to sit and relax, there is also the standard as some have listed; pool, hot tub, BBQ area, dining area (free breakfast too!) and the gym is pretty small but has some decent equipment.
After spending 3 nights here I have to say I will for sure return and aside just a few minor issues with this location, it is a great 4 star hotel in Oceanside which is more than deserving of 5 stars on yelp. Don't waste your time, money or sanity on ANY other hotel in Oceanside, try this place out, it's great and well worth the money!

This new facility has been host to my group of friends traveling with service dogs, and service dogs in training, on several occasions over the past couple of years. We love the rooms, the location, the hot tub and pool but we most especially love the outdoor barbeque area, with a fabulous fire pit - perfect for socializing with friends and meeting new ones. This is our choice spot to stay when we are in town for Canine Companions for Independence events.
Liked -- Convenient location and the fire pit.
Disliked -- Our first stay (within one month of opening) was slightly spoiled by staff's lack of knowledge of wheelchair access issues, and traveler with service dog issues. Happily these issues were corrected on subsequent stays.
Finding a decent spot to stay in O-side with the family is no easy feat. You would think that a moderately-high priced hotel by the Ocean would be nice -- but you would be wrong. I've been constantly disappointing by the noisy, rundown and/or crowded by beachbum type offerings. It might be fine when you are out to have a wild time with friends, but it certainly isn't when you are trying to put down a tired two year old.
This place is less central, but in a newer business park. The service is great, rooms clean and you have a full suite to your disposal. I didn't really need the kitchen as much I thought I would, but it was reassuring to know it was there. There are a few little eating spots within walking distance (BBQ, Pinkberry knock-off, etc). The hotel offers full buffet breakfast - which is quite good, _if_ you can get it. The breakfast experience is actually why I rated this place 3 stars instead of 4. It's just too tiring to try to fight the mobs of people in their serving room. It's amusing that a hotel that looks only half-occupied can suddenly become so popular when you introduce free food.
