So when you walk into a hotel room and the first thing you do is laugh, it's usually not a good sign. While this place is not bad, it is no Marriott. (ditto, R Kelly you bastard). The rooms literally reminded me of half the apartments I had looked at in New York that weekend when looking for a new home. Insert the work, SMALL, here! Certainly cemented the conviction I needed a one bedroom to fit all my crap into.
The rooms are clean but you don't get the nice amenities you would get at the Marriott (R Kelly you, well you know). However, there is a saving grace, a PROPER breakfast. No continental crap with bread and water but eggs, potatoes, muffins, oatmeal, french toast. Almost makes sleeping in a strip mall bearable.
So R Kelly took my freakin room at the Marriott we always stay at (yeah I hold him personally accountable but I also feel kinda bad for him since he can't get any larger venue to play than Columbus University, although that's what happens when you touch little girls so whatever).
Bastard.
So now Karen and I are at the Residence Inn. It's not bad aside from feeling living in a strip mall. Now I've spent some time in Jersey so strip malls are not entirely unfamiliar, but I've never really lived in one. Nothing says good morning like TGIFriday's glistening in the sunshine as I rub the sleep out of my eyes.
