I stayed here for an extended stay with my husband and dog AND my cat for the entire month of September 2008, give or take a few days. I have to say, overall, the Residence Inn here in Bethesda is great!!!

Pluses: HUGE rooms, free Wifi, large kitchens with all the amenities, fabulous FREE breakfast buffet every day, free dinner Tues- Thurs, free exercise room downstairs, pool upstairs, walking distance to Metro, walking distance to Trader Joe's, VERY friendly and helpful front desk, bellmen and maids. I had absolutely no problems here aside from the construction on the Hilton behind them - not their fault and their expensive $18 parking fee per night. Hint: pay $95 for the entire MONTH at the Bethesda parking lot two minutes from the hotel.

A major extra plus : they allow pets and are very nice to them too!!

This is a great place to stay if you have any reason to be in the DC area.  The location is spectacular - you are about a block or two off from the Metrorail, which will take you just about everywhere you want to go.

The rooms are delightfully cozy - separate bedroom off the living room, the bathrooms are ridiculously huge, free internet, full kitchen ... but there's a Ruth's Chris right next door to this hotel so I never used the kitchen ... and even though they have a nicely set dining room table at the ready, I ate my dinners on the floor at the coffee table in front of the tv - because that's how I roll when no one's watching.  Um, speaking of the coffee table in front of the tv ... this is also where I did my work even though these suites have a very nice desk/office space set up.

When you're tired of being in your room but don't really want to go outside, this hotel has a nice workout facility, a pool (seasonal?), a hot tub and a pretty nice happy hour.
