Love the decore =) Very modern and clean =)
Staff friendly ... but the beds and pillows!!!! OMG that's why you should and stay, at least a night! The bed is so comfy and the pillow, let's you sink in =) OMGGGGGG ... really it's worth just staying one night.
Internet free =) Pool was nice looking, didn't get to go but is heated!
Would definitely stay there again.

Great hotel if your staying with a large group of friends. We made use of the bball court, bbq area, and the huge lobby/lounge. The complimentary breakfast was great selectionwise and the eating area accomodated a lot of people. Not like most residence inns with a kitchen but it did have seperated living and bedroom. Gym was descent too.
Great place for a family. Hotel has a Pool, small Play Area near the lobby, Convenience Store, offers free Breakfast and is centrally located. Rooms are decorated OK and a little small though the Kitchenette is fantastic! Staff was friendly.
I have mixed feelings about the Residence Inn at this location. I'll break it down for you...
Pros:
Great, central location. 10 minutes to the park or downtown or Qualcomm.
Set away from the freeway so it's nice and quiet.
A pool.
Free breakfast that is decent.
Very nice and friendly staff all around.
Free coffee in your room and micro popcorn too. Very nice touch.
Cons:
We got there at three and didnt' realize that checkin was at 4pm. That's our fault but I've never heard of such a late check in time. It wasn't conveniant at all.
We had a king room and there was no space at all in the bedroom. It was super tight quarters. Not great with a two year old.
Bathroom is also tiny.
Pretty thin walls. We heard the guy in the next room snoring!
Super loud fans for the heater and a/c. Very annoying.
Overall, I would have to recommend on location and suite ammenities alone. Residence Inn is a great place to stay if you have a kid that goes to sleep early like mine. We could shut him in the bedroom and go watch TV in the living room. It's a nice set upl.

I stayed at the Residence Inn for 3 weeks. The overall experience was good. The hotel is located on top of a hill away from the street which made it quiet. The staff was really friendly and helpful.
The roads around here are a little tricky if you are not familiar with San Diego so use Google maps and get good directions for getting around your first couple days.
We were 10 minutes from exerything..Downtown, the Zoo, Balboa Park and the Beach. This is a great location. The trolley to go downtown or to Tijuana is about 1 mile away with a free parking lot.
