Review #2...I'm really getting into this Yelping thing.

I first moved to DC in '99.  I don't remember exactly why I stepped into Rendezvous, but it instantly became one my favorite spots in DC.  It's close enough to Adam's Morgan without being in the middle of the insanity and it doesn't seem to attract some of the orange and blue liners that can drive me crazy.

The interior is simple with some nice edge, from scattered antique radios to vinyl album covers.  The drink menu is straight forward (i.e., 5 or so bottled beers), which I can appreciate under the tyranny of choice and times of places like Churchkey.

The place hosts a variety of DJs that seem to come and go, just as do the small clicks of people that frequent the place.  People seem to discover this place, embrace it for a few months and then move on.  That's a comment on people, not the place.

It's is run by Belli and if you get to know her, she makes a good friend.  I've hosted multiple parties at this place--including a halloween party and a '09 inauguration party.  Belli makes it very easy.  She typically sets a revenue minimum and as long as you hit that, there isn't a charge for the space.  A DJ has always been included as well--although I've opted for a custom playlist via my iPod on a few occasions.  They let you plug right into their soundboard and system.

Michael typically tends the bar upstairs.  He can be a little light handed on the mixed drinks, but everything about this place makes up for it in my opinion.

    I haven't visited in a few months.  I'll make a return a 2010 resolution.  You should too.

This bar is a great place to hear a cool DJ . A dude named DJ Clutch has been there a few times when I've been in the house, and other times Mojo Jones. Also-- Rendezvous has comedy improv nights with no cover.

The drink specials here are great too. This place is on the small side but, thankfully, does not get as crowded as say..18th Street. There are two floors here to hang out on one of the comfy vintage couches.

Rendezvous's vibe can change from night to night depending on whether it is a DJ night or Improv night. What doesn't change is the chill atmosphere..which is nice to find in a hood where some barhoppers act too cool for the room.

I love this bar.  I'm here practically every friday.  The drinks are cheap, the enviornment is really chill, and the music is great.  Everyone's so friendly here, from the bartender to the DJ.  There are comfy couches to lounge on and it's never crowded.  I'm not exactly sure what kind of music they play...I think it's deep house.  This is a great place to relax after a long week.
