Clothes you may wear once in a lifetime or maybe every few weeks, but hair you wear every day.  And every day when I style my hair at home, I thank Bobbi for giving me a hair cut and color, time after time, that wears well.

My hair is dark, medium length and fine and holds a styling job for all of one hour.  Bobbi's taught me how to extend that (all day) and also has worked with me to achieve a relatively low maintenance color set up (not that I have gray to cover or anything...).  In my years of working with all types of stylists, it's this young, passionate and interesting woman who's taken the time to get to know me and my lifestyle and find a hairstyle that suits it.  Thanks Bobbi, and thanks Rennaissance for cultivating this sort of talent in your simple, yet elegant shop.

When you've got hair that can't decide what texture it is (curly, wavy, straight?!?) particularly in the SF weather, this is a great place to go. Who knew people are actually trained to handle unmanageable locks. Whether it's a deep conditioning treatment that makes my hair feel soft as a purring kitten (as opposed to its usual hissing cat status) or a blowout that's stolen the life right out of Blake Lively, know that Renaissance can handle your hair and maybe even convince you for a moment or two that the frizzy fog isn't just beyond the windowpane...

You can't just book a hair appointment when you come here, you've got to pair it with a hot date, photo shoot, or night on the town... hair this cute can't be wasted on a night of netflix documentaries!

I won't trust anyone besides Jen, she's fantastic. She not only knows my hair well, but she always remembers what we talked about at the previous appointment. An impressive feat given how rarely I make it in and how blabbery my banter is.

Sometimes they push products a little too hard which can be obnoxious, but overall it's worth it.

I had my hair done by Katie Lang yesterday.  Honestly,  It was the best color job I have ever gotten.  I got exactly what I asked for.

Being as particular as I am about my hair I know how hard it is to find a new colorist/stylist.  If you are looking for the best see Katie, and you won't be disappointed.

Renaissance Salon competitively prices their services.  It is truly a hidden gem.  The friendly staff and mellow vibe make it worth the switch, but Katie seals the deal!

WOW! This was my best salon experience EVER! Wonderful, friendly, unpretentious stylists who care about you and what they are doing. Perfect color and a bargain as I was able to book an appointment on an "Opportunity Day". Everyone was gracious and they truly work as a team. They openly share clients and ideas with each other to insure they provide the best possible service.

I am extremely happy with my stylist/colorist Shvonne at Renaissance. I completely trust her to keep my look updated and choose colors that work for me. I have been going to her for over a year now, and even though I've moved to Southern California I try to time my visits back to SF so she can take care of my hair. Prices are entirely reasonable which maybe makes me more willing to experiment and try new looks. But I trust Shvonne's opinion of what looks good on me and it pays off. To hear "wow I like your hair" happens every week. The only thing I would emphasize to new clients is to be sure to bring cash for the tip. Unfortunately they can't include it on the credit card, and believe me, you'll WANT to tip because she does such a great job and makes the time in her chair such a good experience.

I have had several haircuts here, all of which were mediocre at best.  I continued coming out of mere convenience, but my last haircut and subsequent bang trim left me so frustrated and confused that I can't bring myself to go back.

My most recent cut was with Lori, who gave me the exact opposite of what I specifically asked for - exaggerated layers instead of a simplified trim, choppy uneven edges instead of a few face-framing strands.  Seemed like a standardized beginner haircut that had nothing to do with my hair or what or what I had asked for, and certainly wasn't worth 70 bucks.  I generally have low maintenance hair that is hard to mess up,  but this cut is so wrong that it even looks strange in a ponytail.  Maybe it was just a bad day, but remember: one bad day for your hairdresser means six months of bad hair days for you.

I also had a bang trim with Shivonne, who left me with a blunted straight bang on one side and a long side bang on the other.  It looked so awkward that my boyfriend (who is a far cry from a hairdresser) had to even it out for me - and he ended up doing a better job.

I started going to this salon because I met Jenn, a hairstylist and colorist at this salon, through a gym. I was going to be one of her hair models one night several months ago but instead, she said my hairstylist would be her coworker, Danielle.  She reassured me that Danielle was really good. Honestly, I was skeptical. I have been looking for a hairstylist for years and one who would listen (a big one) and I was never fully satisfied who cut my hair previously.

Long story short, the first haircut went great. She gave me an A line cut and I loved how she was such a perfectionist; meticulous and extremely detailed oriented. I was pretty happy with the cut.

Months later (aka late January) I come back and she's still seeing hair models. She asked what I wanted and listened carefully. I didn't want a bob like every other female out there nor did I want boring layers like I usually get. I wanted something different, something short and something more stylish--a pixie haircut. I asked if it would suit my face and she responded, "It could be really cute."

    I trusted her.

Two hours later, with at least 5" cut off on the ground, my pixie haircut was finished. Again, Danielle, being super meticulous and detailed oriented, outdid herself again.

I think I may have found my hairstylist and I don't think I could trust anyone else with my hair. I am so in love with my haircut that I think I may rock this style for months, maybe years to come.

I went back a week after I got my haircut to get my hair colored and highlighted and asked for Katie. Since my hair is really dark I wanted a softer look. She did an overall hair color of 2 shades lighter, with a few blonde highlights in the bangs; she did a great job.

Random tidbit: Turns out Katie is also a fellow kama`aina; I get excited when I meet fellow islanders.

Thank you Katie & Danielle! I will come back as long as Danielle is here.

I stopped going to this salon a couple of haircuts ago, and I'm going to tell you why. I want to start by saying that I have gotten some of the best haircuts ever at Renaissance Salon. I think the stylists are very talented and the salon is very reasonably priced. Why then, did I stop going?

Simply put, I can't stand how hard they push products and services. Every time I visit, it makes me super uncomfortable. It's inevitable that you will be asked if you'd like a treatment, want to buy (all of) the product they use, etc. I get it- it's a business, but these guys are WAY over the top. I'm not cheap, but they totally make me feel this way every time I don't want to buy something. I buy quality, high end hair products often and probably like most girls in this city, I have a beauty arsenal at home so don't need to buy new products every 10 weeks.

Sad, I liked them. Liked my haircut. Hated the experience. Back on the hunt!

let's face it, finding someone to cut your hair can be totally traumatic.  either they do exactly what they want, leaving you feeling out of control and unhappy, or they (at least in my case) don't provide any guidance and help out by offering a consultation and giving the sort of input that leads to an improved look.

not Renaissance - these guys are awesome.  i have been going there for four years now, and every time i leave with a haircut i love.  I see Bobbi and Francisco, and they help me change it up, keep it interesting, but not so interesting that my wife gives me 'that look' when i come home.

it's also worth noting that everyone there is really nice and dog friendly.
On our morning walks, my dog will sometimes just walk in to say hello, and we're always warmly greeted. while they are very high touch and clearly offer a boutique level of services, the staff is anything but standoffish.

if you're a guy who likes to look good, and wants to get a haircut that is constantly new and fun, this is the place to go.  Sure, it's going to cost more than supercuts, but then again, it's worth the investment, as this is something that you'll wear every day.

I really wanted to love this salon. Its close to my apartment, and every time I pass it I think of how charming it looks. Unfortunately I just never left feeling like I loved my hair. I went to Bobbi, and each visit she would tell me my hair was really damaged and I needed to do a treatment. I cut my hair often, I use high end products, and I don't use a straightener. It always felt like she just wanted me to spend more money so she'd get a big tip. She talked down to the assistants quite often, and it really wore thin on me.

I went a handful of times, but finally gave up and moved on.

Everyone at the salon was friendly from beginning to end - no attitude.  My coat was hung in a closet.  A smock was brought to me on the hanger.  Water was served in a real glass & attentively refilled.  Magazines were offered while I waited for my haircut.  The products were described to me but not pushed.

The plus of going to a salon is the head massage during the shampoo.  Great way to start your transformation.  My cut looks great - more shape & swing to my layers.  Biggest plus is I didn't sacrifice length.  Last time I got a cut from another salon, I lost 5 inches for a trim.

This place is fine.  I have pretty short hair (maybe 4 inches) and I'm growing it out, so there's not much a hairstylist needs to do. I looked up this salon and Yelp stated that haircuts here start at $55.  I thought, that's a bit much but I was willing to try it once.

Anyway, the haircut I got from Bobbi was $68 before tip. The haircut is okay - but mostly I look the same as I did when I walked in.  I think it's well worth $40, maybe $45.  Maybe $55 if I was being exceptionally generous.  But $68?  No, probably not.

So, in conclusion: okay salon, pretty overpriced.

I"d moved to SF and was looking for a new hair place. This one is very close to me, so I thought I'd try it.  Least pleasant haircut experience I've ever had.

As soon as I met my stylist (sorry, don't remember her name), she started trying to sell me products.  Now, I understand they probably make commission on this, but it seems to me like you should get to know your client & earn their trust first before recommending expensive products.

One of the first things she did was start talking about how my hair is dry & needs a deep conditioning treatment.  I said that I actually had to be somewhere else soon after so didn't have  time for extra procedures.  She said it only takes 5 minutes.  At that point i thought maybe this was something she would just do as part of the cut & style (my old place if you came early sometimes the stylist would do "extras" to try stuff out for you.)  Anyway, thankfully I asked how much it would be, and it was $50.  I said no thank, and then she offered me the express treatment, which would be just $35.  (If the full one is only 5 minutes, what the heck would be the express???)  So I said no thanks again, and then she finally proceeded to talk about the actual haircut.

The haircut process itself was very unrelaxing and just felt like i was getting passed around.  I'm used to one person doing everything (maybe just someone else does the shampoo, but otherwise you have your stylist & they work with you).  Here, she had one person shampoo me. then she did the cut. Then she started to blowdry, then she passed me off to someone else to blowdry, then she'd come back once in a while to check in and see if the cut needed fixes, she'd do some blowdrying, then back to the other girl.  I felt like a hot potato!

Oh, and at some point she said something like "you have such beautiful curls"... umm, yeah, this after talking about how dry my hair is and in need of deep conditioning immediately upon meeting me?  Clearly just working for the tip at that point once she realized the up-sale wasn't gonna happen.

Jenn Acierto is a PHENOMENAL colorist!

Despite a vague description and a crumpled picture of Kristen Stewart's hair, she hit it spot on. I walked in with fried yellow/orange highlights and walked out with a fiery head of gorgeous auburn/red hair! I am so beyond happy--I have never gotten so many compliments before on my hair. I highly recommend JENN if you want a talented, conscientious colorist.

    Thank you jenn!

Jenn Acierto did a great job with giving me an even light brown color despite my previous bad dye job. Love her, hate the parking (had to move my car after two hrs two blocks away with the smock and dye in my hair- i looked crazy) and not a fan of the assistant thing. Not that they werent nice or good at their job, just my prefrence  of workin with one person all the way through. Will be back.

I'm not a huge reviewer, but given I found this place on Yelp, I feel compelled to return the favor. I ended up getting very lucky - I called on a Sunday, and they were able to fit me in same day - and with Shvonne, the very person I had read the great review about!

The haircut was amazing - she did a really great job. I didn't give her a ton of direction, but she had a vision, and exceeded my wildest expectations. Another bonus was that it was really well priced (a rarity in the city).

I couldn't recommend Shvonne more highly!

I have a very co-dependent relationship with my hair.  Sometimes I love it, oftentimes I hate it - but no matter how much it refuses to listen to my needs and makes me look bad in front of company I just can't sever the relationship.

So after a long winter of fighting the curls and rapidly spreading split ends, and with the advice of friends (and Yelp), I booked us a counseling session at the Renaissance Salon.

My appointment was with Travis.  He was fantastic!  I brought pictures of what I wanted my hair to look like and he was great about explaining where this would work and what might have to be different.  He was extremely gentle - none of that tugging and pulling you sometimes get from stylists.  And I walked out with hair that I loved - which rarely happens as I usually need a couple of days to become reacquainted after a cut.

Everyone at the salon was friendly, the atmosphere was warm and interior is decorated in an eclectic style that adds interest.  I even liked the coffee I received while waiting which was quite tasty and served in a china cup.

I can't say my hair and I won't continue to fight, but I can comfortably say I know where I'll be going when it gets bad again.

I walked into Renaissance as a bit of a, um, project.   My last cut was too short with too many layers when what I really want is a swingy little bob.    I realize that hair stylists can only cut hair shorter, not make it longer.    After taking plenty of time investigating my wishes, my hair type, style and discussing options, Travis (who is a total sweetheart, by the way!) set my expectations, confirmed them, helped me figure out a hair strategy to grow it out without it looking dorky in the meantime.

I walked out with a hairstyle that wasn't just what he could do with what he had, but an actually cute and clean cut that I really like.

Prices are totally reasonable and the other stylists were very friendly, even though I wasn't their client.

    I'm a fan :-)

I walked in to Renaissance Salon one day because it was open on a Sunday and they had an appointment available.  Since then, I have been back several times to get my hair cut by Lori.  She pays a lot of attention to detail, and has given me a cut that I receive rave reviews about.

This is a comfortable salon that is close and convenient to the Fillmore shopping district.

UPDATE 10/24/06:  I have been going to Lori for almost a year now, and like her as much as I did when I first started.  About 2 months ago, I went in and said "I am having a really bad week and I want to cut off all my hair."  She stood up to me and said "I am not going to do that, but if you really want it short come back in a week and I will re-do your hair."  Way to stand up to the woman having the emotional breakdown!  I really respected her for that, and 2 months later I still haven't cut it short and am happier for it.

I've had three cuts at Renaissance and so far, so good. Clean, bright, open space and a friendly staff.  Low maintenance people staff this place--it never feels pretentious for me and I've walked in coming directly from the gym.

I just worked with Lori--she gave my curly hair a much need chop. I left with a fun, shaggy bob for $55 bucks. She took over an hour on the cut and did all the little things just right.

This place is cute. People are friendly.
Got a haircut by Lucas and it was ok. nothing exciting...for $75 his technique was not WOW.
Lots of people says "ohh there's a lot of talented hairstylists in SF! there is no way that u cannot find one..."
The problem is am I willing to spend $65-100 per haircut each time I try out a different hairstylist in SF???
This salon is literally my 10th hair salon....n still have not found one that I really love to keep coming back every single time. Even head n soul salon that I reviewed and gave it a 5 star was not enough to keep me coming back over and over again (actually marina messed up on my bangs the 3rd time I went to her...)
So my search continues...for a talented hairstylist in SF who has great layering techniques and knows how to cut different hair textures that will complement the individuals face.
    Overall this place is OK.

I was recommended to come here by 3 VERY picky friends (Lori Hurley was my stylist) who all trusted Lori to change their hair styles in a way that flattered them and was easy to manage.

Lori is great- she's honest, friendly, lets you know what she's going to do before she starts cutting, and shows you how to manage the style.

I would gladly recommend them (and Lori) to anyone... and HELLO!!! Did anybody else mention the mini massage you get here? That was a very welcome surprise...

I used to get my hair cut at another place on divis. They seemed a bit obsessed with me reviewing them on yelp. While the girl I saw there did a decent job--it wasn't  worth it.

Enter yelp and me finding Renaissance Salon.

I've now  a faithful customer to Michelle and I'm going on a year with her!   Here's why:

    1. Michelle is  a total sweetheart. I feel like it's hanging out with one of my girlfriends when I go in.

    2.  My hair looks great! The cut AND the color. I've found that some stylists can only do one--but she can do both!  And She's quick! I mean,  under 3 hours..which is like a FIRST for me and my long ass thick hair w/ highlights!

    3. She's helped me get the color I want  back in my hair and we're working on growing it out so I can do it how I want for my wedding. She's been helpful with setting follow up appts leading up to the wedding and I'm SO greatful!  PLUS she's not pushy and convincing me to come in every few weeks when really every 3 months is FINE for me. She's honest !

    4. It's a cute little place where everyone seems nice & they sell and use GREAT products for your hair. My new shampoo is the BEST!

    5. It's not cheap--but there are salons that cost MUCH more in this city.  You are getting quality work at a fair price. I don't cheap out on hair..but i'm not going broke on it either.

go here if you want a good look at a fair price!

I got my hair cut here about two weeks ago.  It had been growing out from a series of horrid haircuts from various places around the city (why, oh why does everyone feel the need to feather my hair?)

After scouring the yelp reviews, I decided to give Renaissance a try.
Thank you yelp.  Thank all of you who have written a review.  I love this place!

They were able to fit me in on short notice for a haircut with Lori.  She is so sweet and has such a great vision for hair.  After she was done with my cut, I hardly knew what to say.  It had been so long since I had actually so much as liked my haircut, much less loved it.  It looked amazing!! The best part is that, with a little effort (which for me means drying my hair), I am able to make it look almost as good as the day Lori cut it.  Can't ask for more than that!

Absolutely fabulous attention- the girls there make you feel like a million bucks! Laurie is a GENIUS- I don't know how she does it, but she cuts my hair in such a way that it's hard to make it look bad. I don't really have to style it if I'm in a rush, and it looks great anyway. I don't know what she does... she's definitely got a magic touch. And she's pretty reasonable in terms of pricing.

So I just moved in to the area and thought I would try this place out since it was close.

My hair is generally pretty easy to deal with and doesn't cause too much trouble.  I do use a hairdryer daily and a straight iron on occasion.
The stylist and I decided she would cut 2 inches off my hair because the ends were a bit dead plus add a couple of layers.
I'm not sure when she last used a ruler because 6 inches were cut off.  Plus, there are too many layers.  My hair has never been this unmanageable.  I end up wearing it up most of the time because it just looks awful down. I have to say, this is the first haircut in my adult life I have hated.
Needless to say I won't be getting a haircut for a while and I certainly won't be returning.

Lucas made this monkey look sexy and sassy with just his scissors.  I think they might be magic.

Everyone I've suggested to try Renaissance has loved it.  Each stylist is marvolous and they are determined to make you leave looking like a movie star.

Be warned, they will take your entire appointment to make sure your hair rocks, so make sure you don't have to be somewhere right away.
Besides, when you look this good - people can wait.

Lucas has done a wonderful job with my color & cut.

I can't wait to get it styled this weekend!

Update: After going in and asking for a "Girls Next Door" look (admittedly difficult with my hair) I left having to recurl it 3 more times before heading out at night.  I was pretty clear with what I wanted and pretty disappointed with the result.
I have gone to a few proms/weddings and done my own hair enough to know this is an excessive number of times to have to "touch up" ones hair.
Anyway, I will still go back for cut & color (though somehow mine ends up costing $$$$$ - $290 with tip) but will STAY AWAY for evening styles.

I have lived in the neighbourhood of this salon for over a year, and have always wanted to check it out... But to be honest, I avoided it due to the $$$ dollar signs it received on yelp. Being one who doesn't like to spend more than $75+ on a hair cut- I thought it would be out of my price range.

However, after a series of medicre haircuts I finally decided to try this place. It had great Yelp reviews, afterall... And I was willing to shell out whatever I needed to a good cut.

I am SO GLAD that I did!

Firstly, my experence from start to finish was positive. The receptionist was friendly and quick to greet me. I was in the chair at the appointed time-- no waiting for 15-20 minutes after my appointment time. I was offered tea or water.. and the entire salon has a fun atmosphere... Oh- and it's walking distance from my place, BONUS!

Trish gave me *the best* hair cut I have gotten in San Francisco (and that says a lot.... I get my hair cut once every 6-8 weeks). She listened to what I had in mind, bounced her ideas off me before cutting, and did an AMAZING job. I have a short, highly textural and fairly complicated cut... and she absolutely rocked my world.

Not only is she a great Stylist but she was friendly and easy to talk to. My hour in her chair flew by and I walked out feeling like a million bucks. Even my Husband has commented that it's the best cut I've gotten since moving to SF!

And all my fears of the price were TOTALLY unfounded. My cut came to $55 (with tip being extra). Which is totally, totally reasonable in my book. I will absolutely, positively be back.

I had this little problem...  My previous hairstylist at a different salon gave me great haircuts, but he talked on and on about himself the ENTIRE time... not interesting things, which I would have been entertained by, just anything he thought of, like "I bought bananas today", and he just seemed kinda bored the whole time...It came to a point when it felt a little bit like torture.

So, I went on Yelp and saw some great reviews for Rennaisance Salon, and made an appointment.  My appointment was with Travis, who was sooooooo sweet (even to his fellow staff: any time one of them swept up for him or put something away for him, he thanked them and told them how helpful they were... I don't think I've ever seen that before!).  He also gave me a fantastic haircut and lots of good tips on how I can keep my hair looking healthy, and what kind of cuts work best with my hair type.  He was amazing, and I will definately be going back to him for my next haircut!

I had my hair fried while perming and walked into the salon with my hair looking like a bale of hay.  My stylist Travis is awesome, he is very professional and took the time to listen to me and find out exactly what my concerns are.  He is very personable and very respectful.

He gave great advice and is not pushy about making me getting the products.  Since my hair is extremely processed and brittle, he never once tug or pull my hair but was extremely careful with it.  He knows that I do not need anymore hair breakages.  Finally, he also made sure that I know how to use certain products and how to style my hair.

Before I left, I was able to say I love what he did for me and I will definitely be back again.  Travis has gotten my boyfriend's approval for my next visit.

I loathe to write this reivew only because I don't want it to be impossible to get an appointment with my stylist, Trish.
But I have to say that when I experience great artistry and service, I must share it, so that she can get the business she deserves!

This salon has been on my neighborhood radar for a few years. I had gone about 3 years ago, and gotten a cut that I wasn't too thrilled about but still did appreciate the kindness of the chic girls at the front desk and the friendliness of EVERY stylist there (a rare thing I have found. Some salons think the more you cost, the snootier you can be).So, I didn't completely write them off.

But I recently received a lecture from my friend F which consisted of her looking horrifed and commenting that  ---"THIS is unacceptable" ...She has been going to Renaissance for a couple of years and loves them so she, in her way pointed out that I should go fix myself since I was a hot mess.

*cue her circling her hand in front of my face*

I decided action needed to be taken.

So, I called the day of to make an appointment at Renaissance.
I know, to think, the GALL !! to see if I could get a last minute appointment. But, I did. And as I sheepishly asked about prices (hey, bad economic times, I'm on a budget!) I was told by a very sweet and understanding young woman that Trish who I would be cut by was within my price range of less than  $75.

    AWESOME.

So I hippity hopped the few blocks from my home, and was greeted by a trio of good looking, nice women who were hilarious to talk to.
Then I met Trish who was SO cool! Not only did she look like she could be a model of a pixie of fantasy origin, she was one of the nicest and chatty stylists a girl could dream of. I was relieved (to be totally honest) that my method of gauging how well a cut is going to be by the cut sported by the stylist did not fail me this time again.
Trish has gorgeous hair, so I knew that whatever she did, was going to be great!

And it did. Bangs and all. I love it.

It was well received by my public ;-)

So, if you're looking for 5 star service with a smile, I HIGHLY recommend Renaissance and if you're looking to try someone out, ask for Trish. She is amazing!!!

Found Renaissance Salon and my hairdresser on Yelp and have been thrilled ever since. About a year ago I really needed my hair cut and I really was in need of a new hairstylist. After browsing for a while I came upon Renaissance, called them up and booked an appointment. I have never had a bad experience here. I always come out loving my new do and it's really reasonable, $65 for my normal cut. I trust Lori explicitly and love coming here to see the staff. This is a great neighborhood salon and I would recommend it to anyone.

    I LOVE my new haircut!
    SHAVONNE A. is the BEST!
I went to this salon and had Shavonne cut my hair because of all the great yelps about it. Yelpers were on point!

The price was so good too. I was thinking I was going to spend at least $65 on the cut because she took about 6+ inches off. Umm it was totally less than that. I couldn't believe it cost less than where I usually get my haircut in San Diego (sorry to my go-to hairstylist in SD but I found a new stylist). Even when I move back to SD this fall I'm still going to come here and get my hair done by Shvonne (YES that GOOD!).

I showed her a pic of what I wanted done. She gave a suggestion of a variation of it and I was like dude go for it! Totally turned out awesome!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my hair!

After being cancelled on, again, by another salon, and with a hot mess going on up top, I decided I needed a cut, stat. Cue Yelp, where a search in my 'hood pulled up Renaissance, and the first review showing was that of an old coworker. Her hair always looked fab and I trusted her opinion, so I called in the off chance Renaissance could accomodate me on such short notice.

I was in luck, Shvonne was available! From the moment I walked in, the team really made me feel like they were excited to see me. Shvonne challenged me (in the nicest way possible) to do something different with my hair, so I went for it. And I love it!

Travis and his co worker was trashing a hath blind client he was telling her how he cut this lady's hair but did not check to see if was perfect...Very umprofessional and not very refined as human being.
Them he seems to be in the hurry to see me leave sense he had his old friend and costumer on line waiting for hem.
Anyways first time I washed my hair I find out that he did a very poor job and I had to pay another $50.00  dollars in someplace else to fix it...

This is the place to go if you really want to be treated like a princess and know your going to walk out loving what they did.

I got a cut and color, my hair is really thick and I went from dirty brown with lots of old dye in my hair to much lighter blonde from I can't remember the name of the guy that did it but he was fabulous (skinny lots of tatoo's of stars and colored contacts) and Trish cut my hair. She did such an amazing job layers, that give my hair a natural wave that I missed from my old stylist I didn't think anyone could be as good!

cut was about 50 and color was 150

    I love my new haircut!

It is now one week since my haircut - my new chic SHORT haircut...I have to say I have never received so many compliments on my hair, but then again - anything is better than the horrendous perm I received from La Vii (Chinatown,SF) and so it was definitely a vast improvement.   Actually they were the reason for the short do - it took me a whole year to grow out my hair and still there were burnt perms left.......ehhhh...so I knew I had to find a really good stylist to chop it off and still make me feeling like a million bucks.

    Lori came highly recommended.......

Lori did a great job.  Knowing that I have never chopped my hair this short, she paid close attention to the picture I brought in.  The long layers in front and the short layers framed my face perfectly.  Wish we could have done something more with my bangs as they are sitll in my face......

I am very picky about who cuts my hair. I have curly hair so if I get someone who doesn't know how to work with my hair, it ends up just being bad news. So when I moved to the city, I made sure that I did my homework when it comes to finding a salon. I went on the bumble and bumble site and took a look at who uses their products in the city. I looked at three things when it came to finding a new salon. 1. Location, 2. Price, 3. Yelp reviews. Renaissance made the cut for all three.

My first experience with Renaissance, I had Francisco. He did an awesome job! I loved my haircut. The next time I went in he was unavailable and I was desperate, so they suggested Bobbi. After Bobbi did my hair, I loved it even more and I've kept going back to her. She is so meticulous when it comes to getting my hair right. Plus she usually has an awesome concert story for me (we have similar music tastes).

I'm sure if you go to anyone at Renaissance you will be happy. They have a great selection of hair products, as well as friendly stylists. I have never walked out disappointed from this place!
