This Renaissance is completely worth it. It is located six blocks from the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial, a stone's throw from Bricktown, the new hip place to be, and the amenities are working!

While the rooms are nice, the bar well appointed, and the finish outs of the hotel are all together nice, the best part of the experience was the concierge. I asked if I could have a shuttle for some guest to make it to the memorial and back within an hour. He told me to meet him at the concierge desk when I was ready. We rendezvoused as planned, and he had a stretch limousine ready for us - for no charge. It was a courtesy of the hotel! What?! I looked pretty good in front of the VIPs, though I did not intend to do so. Thanks, Renaissance people!

Compared to the Sheraton across the street, this place is fantastic.

Very nice hotel lobby area, great staff and decent food. I did not get to walk around much due to my short time there but I would definitely go back and pay the extra $20 or so over Sheraton. Valet parking here is a pain - it is far away so it takes 10 min to get your car.

I spent a couple of weeks at this hotel while working on a project in Oklahoma City.  My client was in the building next door so I did not have to rent a car.  There are lots of restaurants within walking distance.

The rooms are large and clean. The beds are the new Marriott overstuffed ones that are very comfortable.   I also enjoyed the concierge lounge that my Platinum status grants me access to.

The gym has dumbells up to 50 lbs and plenty of cardio machines such as treadmills and stationary bikes.  This worked out since I could not find a good gym within walking distance so I did all of my workouts here which brings me to my funny traveling story.

After working out on a Monday evening I went up to the concierge lounge to get a snack.  Since I had been up early traveling and I had done a hard workout I decided to reward myself with a brownie.

Since the hotel was not crowded I was given a suite.  However, the couches did not face the TV.  I decided to adjust the TV while I held the plate with the brownie on it.  However, it turned out the TV was not screwed down and it started to fall.  Since I had brownie in my other had I could not catch the tv in time to stop it from falling to the ground.  As the TV was falling my plate when with it and the brownie was splattered all over the room.

I heard the TV pop as it hit the floor so I knew it was a goner.  I picked the TV up and check to see if maybe it survived.  No such luck.  So I called down to the front desk and explained my situation.  It was kind of embarassing.  The Hotel Tech came up installed a new TV (did not screw it down though).

The funny part is that two days later the band Def Leppard showed up.  The hotel was not that crowded so it was basically Def Leppard and me staying the hotel.  Turns out that rock stars travel just like business travelers.   They meet up in the lobby before going to dinner.  They stop at the ATM machine and they work out in the fitness room (Vivian Campbell was on the treadmill while I was working out).  The main difference is that they show up with 10 tour buses.

At the end of the day I got a good road story to tell (although I have not told this story in some time).
