Despite a very long work week running a conference at the Reinassance Harbor place with a 7 day stay, I can definitely make a comment about this place. Wonderfully located across from many shops (The gallery) and the Baltimore Harbor. This hotel has a valet and self parking option. Parking is expensive $26-$29 per night for overnight hotel guests. Beware that you need to take your parking ticket to the front desk for a $3 discount. The garage is not ran by the hotel, so not much I could discount here. Of course, learned the hard way and ended up annoying the parking attendant as I had lost my ticket TWICE..I promised I wasn't going to move my car anymore until I check out 5 days later!
The rooms: Spacious, very comfortable, enough lighting, flat screen TV YEAH! After long days was a great relieve to shower and use the nice robe. I only saw it 2 days, then the robe never came back to my room...Good Aveda products..I stocked up on lotion yiiippeeee.
Food: The Watertable restaurant had very good choices. Try the Seafood pasta, I ordered it two days in a row! Crabmeat, mussles, Big shrimp and penne pasta in a garlic and butter sauce. The Crabmeat soup in a bread bowl..A MUST. I had a chicken sandwich not so great, needed more love, but I wanted a lower calorie option. ORDER the ice cream!!! Is made locally and ASK about this moving Baltimore story!
Service: Absolutely outstanding! From sales to convention services. Banquet, AV, everyone I dealt with was very pleasant.
Bar, two bars...Great cosmos...had too many and the rest I do not remember!
Pool, went once..not an olympic pool, but enough for a few laps. Also had a whirlpool, but hate when single hairy men spend way too much time there...waiting..waiting for what, a lawn mower?..yeah Chubaka's cousins...No, I'm not going near you!
Great restaurants within walking distance. Power Plant live within a few blocks, Little Italy, do not miss out!
I have stayed at this hotel before, but this last stay has been a wonderful experience.
Wow. We got a lot more than we expected staying at the Renaissance Harborplace. We had reserved a city view king room. What we got was an upgrade to a harbor view executive king suite. Can you imagine my excitement? Our room was a corner suite, taking in views towards Camden Yards and all of the Inner Harbor. The room was huge and beautifully decorated with a lot of special little touches. The bed linens were soft and cozy. Plus, everything seemed brand new, like no one had ever stayed in it! I can't believe how lucky we were.
Valet parking may seem a little steep at 36 bucks. However, it's really worth it, to be able to dump your car off, walk everywhere you need to go and not have to worry about it. The hotel is conveniently located near Camden Yards, The Baltimore Aquarium, The Hard Rock, etc.
Plus, the Boston Red Sox's just happened to be staying at the hotel, so we had a couple player sightings. Not too exciting for me, but my boyfriend loves baseball.
We would definitely stay here again! Love the location, very nice hotel.
I stayed at the Renaissance on Friday the 13th. My mistake.
Check in went well and the staff was very nice. Went out for dinner. Came back and things went down hill in a hurry. Call from front desk my truck " had a problem " and could I come down to the desk.
Met security who walked me down to the truck. Window smashed in, glass everywhere. Cell phone gone.
Police arrived and told me this is a daily occurrence in this parking garage, so, learn from my mistake and avoid this parking garage like the plague.
If you must go there for some reason, bring gloves. You will need them to clean up the glass since there is no electric and security can't give you a shop vac and you have to clean the glass out of the seat with your coat.
You will get a letter from the Hotels insurer telling you not to bother making a claim ( even if you didn't contact them, as I had not) and telling you you should have used the valet and not self parked.
I was really excited to stay at this hotel, but it ended up disappointing me and my boyfriend on several levels.
First, parking was $38 per night which would have been fine had we known beforehand. Luckily there was parking available on the street (metered). Second, the shower was dirty. There were someone else's hairs all over the bottom of the shower along with the soap holder. It was disgusting.
Next, the hotel was unable to accommodate our request for a king size bed. Now, I realize it is a 'request' (which the lady at check in rudely explained), but we were staying there for Valentine's Day and instead of having a romantic room, we had a room cramped with 2 queen size beds.
Lastly, starting at around 7am there was a very loud buzzing noise coming from the wall. At first I thought it was an alarm clock, but we concluded it must have been a pipe acting up in the wall. It made noise for 5 minutes at a time nearly every 20 minutes until we checked out.
Some positives are the location (right on the harbor, walking distance to everything), the hotel bar (open late and tasty drinks), and the price we received off priceline ($75 per night I think).
Although there are some positives, the negatives definitely don't even it out. I definitely would not recommend this hotel.
Great rooms and all. The only thing I was disappointed about was the parking. I didn't realize that you had to register and we ended up getting charged the "non-discounted" hotel price of $26/day...OUCH We got charged more...NOT FUN. Other than that...the people were good and I liked the room that we got. The location is phenomenal! Cannot be beat if you want to stay in the Inner Harbor.
The Renaissance is an excellent hotel. My room was spacious and clean. There was a HDTV in the room, coffee pot, small refrigerator, big shower with strong water pressure. All the things I need when I stay away from home. I would not hesitate booking a room here again.
I stayed here for a business seminar for 4 days. The hotel had beautiful decorations, friendly staff and large, comfortable rooms.
The location was perfect. It sits right across from the Harbor, with easy access to several tourist sites, restaurants and shopping. The hotel was also attached to the mall, so shopping was very convenient. All that I need to be comfortable away from home.
The hotel restaurant had decent food, but I'd rather venture out and get something at a better rate. The bar was well stocked and the bartenders were generous with the alcohol content of my drinks - very friendly too.
The room had a very large, very comfortable bed. Best pillows, hands down! :) TV was a flat screen with a modest selection of TV viewing channels. Coffee maker, hairdryer and ironing board were well on hand. The cleaning staff didn't replace my toiletries each day, but I got by with what was available. Bathrooms were on the small side, but clean.
Great value for the hotel. I'd stay here again.
Very nice hotel right in the heart of the Inner Harbor. It is walkable to all the major attractions in the area (it's about 10-15 minutes to Camden Yards) and connected to a hotel. There is a Starbucks in the lobby but they do not accept Starbucks gift cards, and a concierge lounge on 12. My only note would be that the gym -- while fully equipped to do everything you might need to, generally -- was a bit cramped.
Very nice. I was here for a trade show, so I didn't get to enjoy too many of the amenities. But...the NY Yankees were staying here too, during my stay. Can't be that bad.
The beds and linens were comfy and nice. The bathroom was super clean and had plenty of space.
The hotel is kinda set up like a gigantic horseshoe and there is only one bank of elevators, so you can likely have a very long walk to your room if the hotel is super busy. The elevators are fast though.
Free wifi in the lobby, which is cool. The staff was nice and the lobby bar was fine.
Lather brand amenities is the bathrooms. The lemongrass soap is lovely.
Ask for a harbor view, I had a parking garage view, not so great.
I only paid $100 for the normally-269$-price per room, and I thought $100 was a fair price. The air conditioner in the room read about 15 degrees cooler than the room actually was and the television was grainy, owing no doubt to the fact that the signal was distributed across too many rooms.
The bar was nice for about ten minutes until it ran out of mint for Mojitos; I'd expect July 4th weekend to require a better-stocked pantry.
The room itself was clean and spacious, but I wouldn't call it a four-star experience.
Great location, clean room with huge comfy beds.
