5 reviews for Renaissance Fort Lauderdale Hotel
Rooms were nicely decorated, modern, clean, and a good size.
Very helpful and friendly staff - we were actually able to check in at 10:30am, rather than just drop off our bags.
The pool looked nice, but it was a little chilly in mid-January to go for a swim. Still, a nice spot to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine.
Location is excellent. It's a super-short ride to Port Everglades Cruise Terminal, an easy walk to grocery stores and restaurants, and a slightly longish but not unpleasant walk to the beach.
Got a great rate via Priceline.

I liked this place. The staff is awesome and will work with you to make you happy. Nothing real negative to say about it. Great tv's in the rooms. the AC worked well (Important in Flordia) I was going to give this a 4 rating until I started writing the review but felt guilty so I went the whole 9 yards and gave it a 5.
I even became a member.
We got a great deal on this four-star hotel off priceline. I was very impressed with the place, and would especially recommend it to anyone accessing the busy cruise ports nearby.
The hotel is very modern and swanky, with lots of blue and black accented with yellow. The hotel was recently renovated, and the rooms come with flat screen tvs and fashionable chaise lounges. The staff is very welcoming, and offer complementary cookies in the evenings as well as a computer to print out boarding passes.
The hotel is located near the convention center and within walking distance (about .25 mile) from the cruise docks. We walked the short distance from our cruise ship, to other guests' surprise. I believe this is the closest hotel to the cruise port.
The pool is shielded from the busy roads by shrubbery, which makes it feel somewhat tranquil. They have tons of poolside furniture, including romantic clamshell cabanas. We hung out at the pool most of the afternoon, playing cards and dipping in the hot tub.
There is a bar and restaurant on the premises, as well as a variety of restaurants and coffee shops nearby.
My few complaints include a lack of coffee in the lobby, and an outdated hotel info book that incorrectly states free appetizers are available at the bar during happy hour. Overall, I would visit here again if in the area on business or before or after a cruise.

I was able to get a room here on http://www.marriott.com for a reasonable $89/night. So my thought was that the hotel may not be that spectacular. I was impressed overall with the ambiance. The room also had a jetted tub.
The breakfast buffet was average. However, the omelet cooked to order was excellent.
The staff was extremely pleasant. They offered information on local hang outs and cheap transportation ($2 round trip) to the beach if we didn't want to deal with parking. Business center had working pc's and printer to print boarding passes.
Decent rooms.
Decent restaurant.
Decent facilities.
Decent pool.
Decent poolside service.
Good club room grub.
Excellent access to bright, warm beaches.
Excellent access to excellent Cuban (food).
A wondrous thing for us boring, pale, pastey, people from three thousand miles away.
