I loved this hotel! While I'm a fan of just about any Renaissance, this one was particularly nice because of the time of year we spent there. (Thanksgiving/Christmas) We walked in to a beautiful over-sized Christmas tree in the lobby. The crystal chandelier is just amazing and makes the place look so elegant.

We received some free cheese and crackers and they were delivered promptly to our room after our arrival. The rooms were very pretty and had a wonderful view of the city skyline. They were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. I have to say I love the Lather products Renaissance uses for shampoo, soap, and conditioner.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone! It's close to a lot of downtown attractions and has easy access to freeways in the Dallas area.

I liked the convenience to the areas I had to be the weekend I traveled to Dallas.

It was so close to all the bars, restaurants and sights I had to see. Amazing rooftop views of downtown area. Sadly the rooftop is closed from 11pm-4:30-ish am. Prime skyline viewing time! Oh well. Next time I'll remember to bring a bathing suit and enjoy the rooftop completely.

The beds were amazingly soft - I slept the best I have in a long time. The cost for two people- one room, two queen sized beds, a huge red sofa/loveseat, a large plasma tv, and a great view from the window.

The only things I could complain about was the parking filled up EARLY - there was no smoking in the hotel, there were very few trash bins in the room. Checking in/out wasn't the easiest I've ever experienced. All the staff were nice, we even left a bag - and they found it by the next day. Everything was returned. Pretty good deal, I think!

I have stayed here many times and it continues to be my first choice of places to stay in the Dallas area.  I love the top floor pool, jacuzzi, and sun deck with free well equipped fitness area.  There is also a free laundry room next to the gym and mens' sauna so you can do your laundry while you work out and take some sun.. how amazing!.   I got an upgraded corner suite here on the 26th floor the last time I stayed with a living room and everything.  It was a great place to relax and enjoy the view, big flat screen tvs, and (when I had time) special guests.  The suites give you ample room to entertain.
The downstairs breakfasts are amazing for a business hotel breakfast.  The variety of fresh fruit and regional delicacies were quite enjoyable.  The service was top notch every where I went in the hotel.  Everybody I ran into that worked there was courteous and helpful and took that extra step to make sure I was well accommodated.   I truly recommend this place.  I am sure I will stay here again many times.

I was in town for a conference downtown and had originally booked at the Marriott Suites across the highway.  Being a loyal Marriott Rewards member I checked the website a day before heading to Dallas and saw that this hotel was $10 cheaper per night.  Where Renaissance is further up the Marriott food chain I felt that this was a win-win.

The front desk staff were very attentive and provided me with directions and infor as needed.

While I did not eat at the steakhouse in the lobby, the wood burning grill could be smelled throughout the hotel, which for someone who loves that smell, it was great!

One benefit of being a Marriott elite member is that I get Concierge lounge access.  Upon my Sunday arrival, I was dismayed to find that the lounge was being remodeled but was informed that it would have a "soft" re-opening the next morning.  The lounge was roomy and the staff very attentive.  They had eggs, fresh fruit and a selection of danish every morning.  By the second morning, I was greeted by name.

The room was very nice (Marriott beds are to die for).  The room was roomy and the LCD flat panel TV was good.  I had a city view room.  The room had a safe which is a plus for a business traveler scared of losing his laptop!  One downside is that the walls were a little on the thin side allowing me some bedtime entertainment from a couple in the next room over enjoying some "intimate moments."

The health club was very nice on the roof.  The pool looked great but it was still a little chilly for a swim.

I will stay here again when I visit next.

Ok, so yes I do live in Dallas and naturally it is simple to ponder why it would be necessary to stay at a hotel in Dallas. While I don't feel you ever need a reason to stay at hotel and not at your own place, here is mine. With my beloved NY Yankees in town for a four game series with the Rangers I had purchased seats for some friends and I to attend Thursday night's game. Since I'm not reviewing the Ballpark in Arlington let me paraphrase the game. Yankee's win 3-0 and I lost my cell phone. After the game I had planned to take everyone over to The Ginger Man for some drinks. Unfortunately we didn't make it as the group saw it more fit to drink at the hotel. Since they were buying, my cell phone was lost, and I didn't have to go to work the next day; I went.

As N2DEEP would say, "back to the hotel". Due to the current lack of space at my home my friend had booked a few rooms for everyone that had come in town. As I drove over to the hotel to meet them I couldn't help but wonder why all the years I had lived in this town I had never actually been or stayed at that particular hotel. The architecture of it by itself catches your attention when driving down 35. For those of you a bit more nostalgic as I it was once called the Stouffer (excuse the spelling). As I walk in nothing immediately sparks my interest, probably because all hotels smell the same to me. I walked over to the bar which is always a tell tale sign of the type of hotel it is. The bar was light; stuck in that window of too early for the folks out to come back for their last drinks prior to passing out upstairs, too late for the folks having one or two drinks before going downtown. We conjured in the center grouping a few tables together and I kept my seat in optimal viewing of both the front door and the elevator. After many drinks and as loud as we go it was pleasing that the only words the staff had for us was, "Can I get you anything else?" While there were some thoughts of skinny dipping on the rooftop pool late at night, nothing ever happened.

The rooms were very nice! Even with two beds there was enough room for a very comfortable corner couch with ottoman. A 42" flat panel TV is never anything to complain about, even if we had a knock on our door from the night manager politely asking us to keep our noise level down. I'd also really like to tell you the shower head is amazing, but like many other drunk and coyote ugly nights I just wanted to leave that next morning. From what I could tell though, it didn't seem like it was going to be disappointing.

As a reminder, yes I do live in Dallas, I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in town but doesn't want to go overboard with some of the trendy spots that most travelers find in vacation brochures. If you do stay, make sure you follow up on that rooftop pool, cause one day I definitely will.

This is one of my favourite hotels in Dallas. Of course it is a classy hotel and comfortable, but what makes it-in my opinion- a great hotel is the staff. I have never made a request to anyone-bellmen, front desk, valet....anyone-and heard the answer of no it isn't possible. the staff is eager to always help. I always use the valet parking so i don't know if the self parking is good or not, but when i need a cab or special request they always find a way to accommodate. I have two drawbacks. 1. my car did have some sort of droppings on it when the valet brought it to me-that is no big deal, just a comment. I mean birds do fly and they do poop. 2. there is a 12.50 per day charge to use the Internet in the room and it is wired only. So you can only use one computer at a time or go to the lobby and use the free wireless. The steakhouse in the back of the lobby is to die for. It simply is delicious but like i said, what makes this hotel a great hotel is the staff. they are excellent.
