I was here for a private function and we had the whole place to ourselves. The passed hors d'ouvres were sponsored, but the bar was no-host.
The main problem for me is the bar is in the middle of the space with not much room on any side, so it doesn't take many people to make the place feel crowded. It was also really dark, which is only helpful for those over 50 looking to get some. The result, I was sweating like a pig and smelling like one too even right out of the shower. (Yuk, right?)
As a red wine drinker, it's nice to have a choice of wine but this place only offered one: A Spanish red that wasn't bad, thank god.
The smoked chicken rolls and potato tacos were tasty free-bees and valet parking with validation was only $5.
I can only surmise that it's not a horrible place to be if it's not too crowded but...been there; done that.
I do not like to spread negativity into the world people, but this place is horrendous! My girlfriends and I went there to watch the fight last weekend, and were immediately excited once we saw the layout and the atmosphere seemed really great. The drinks were expensive, but tasted good. I ordered the Pineapple Express which was quite tasty....so here's where things got bad.
We try to order food and the waitress tells us all of the menus are lost!!!!! WTH? What kind of establishment loses their menus? So we ask her what kind of appetizers do they serve so we'll have food while we watch the big fight. She answers, "I don't know let me ask someone." So she tells us 2 types of appetizers, and we sit down upstairs. A different waitress waits on us and she actually knew what was being served...whew! The chips and guacamole were great...homemade tortilla chips and guac with lots of tomatoes, and cilantro.
My girlfriend ordered the sliders which were pretty much just raw on the inside and she was so grossed out she couldn't finish them. I inform the waitress who sends over the rudest manager in history who proceeds to berate my friend because she doesn't like raw meat! Apparently this place only serves vampires. Our waitress-who by the way only checked on us once and who I had to beg for napkins-dissappears never to be seen again, and we hunt her down for our check so we can go. After we find her she tells us we need to leave because there is another event they are setting up for! The staff here is atrocious, and the manger is a total jerk! Unfortunately I have to say if you're thinking about going here....don't!
P.S. the valet guy tried to steal $5 from us!!!!
If you want the bar tender's to serve their friends over your shoulder after you've been standing there for 15 minutes... Then this is the place for you.
P.S. Count your change. It's likely that a ten dollar bill is missing.
I went here with a huge group of co workers. We started off at Provecho and the manager moved our group over to Remedy since they were kind of dead over at that place. We were seated upstairs in a private room. The service was good and we watched a Laker game on their huge TV's.
The bar area is rather small but drinks are a reasonable price and rather tasty.
Well I can't very well support a place that allows their valets to steal things from patrons' cars without even questioning, helping...anything?!?!
I just think a gal oughta be allowed to realize halfway through the night that she left something in the car but that's okay...
And then for a place that tries to brand itself as high-class to not give a shit was totally off-putting.
EPIC FAIL, Remedy Lounge.
What's up with closing down at 12:30 a.m.!?
And what's up with the carne asada tacos being tough?
Bleh.
Remedy, you're going to have to do better.

Still my favorite happy hour in Downtown!
Gotta love that all-night happy hour Mondays through… Read more »
The lounge was so so... kind of small but cozy. The DJ kind of sucked, I thought. He would blast the music at some point for no reason....I don't know why. I used to DJ in college, so I know that you should never adjust levels of volume like that during the middle of a song or mix. Anybody knows that. This place may not be a bad place if you want to have a small gathering and sit down and chat or even just to grab a few drinks at the bar with a friend. But I give it a small rating because of the parking and valet service. I was there for about 3 hours and the parking cost $10 (after 7pm too). I even had it validated. I heard from others that with validation, it was $5, but it seems they changed the parking rates recently...or just on me. I wonder how much it costs without validation!
I like Remedy. I've been there about 3 times and I can see how people feel negatively about it, but its my kind of place. They play good music and its a relaxed sort of spot. It is really small and the drinks are a little high, but I like a place that I can just kick it and listen to good music. Its a private party kind of place..if I wanted to do something with a big group of people and have the place damn near all to us, this would be a good place. They also have a little menu and you can order food, but I haven't tried ordering anything so I can't tell you how good or terrible their food is. But I usually don't like the music at clubs these days, so I can appreciate it when I've found a place that plays the kind of stuff I like..
Its just another LA lounge. Its a very small place, nice place to just have a drink. Good for small crowds.
YAY!!! Happy hour all night on Patty's day. Great decor. Blueberry Crush and Pomegranate Tinis for half price. All the appetizers were also half price and included some yummy options - onion ring stack, carne asada tacos, and calamari fries. And, the dance music made us get up and start some dancing even though this place did not have dancing...But, it's not the first time I've broken the rules to have fun, or started a dance floor when everyone else is "too cool" to start the floor. Plus, they said happy hour specials go late on Mon, Tues, and Weds.
I will definitely be back!
Agree with quite a few reviews on this place....it blows.
$700+ for 2 bottles of mid-level vodka? Are you kidding me? This isn't some high-end lounge nor should it pretend to be.
What I love the most is the progressively-priced drinks. What I mean by this is that our first round of whiskeys cost $10/drink. By the third round they were $12, and thereafter they were $15/drink. I'll take progressive slots, but drinks? Give me a break......
We went for happy hour to celebrate a birthday. We had trouble finding it at first, but it's a beautiful place. We were in a large room upstairs that accomodated a group well, except for the layout didn't really allow for interacting with anyone not sitting right next to you.
The happy hour prices were very good, as they were half off of the regular menu (selected cocktails and food). This is key, because no one in their right mind should pay $12 or $14 for a cocktail, but $6 or $7...now you're speaking my language. I had the burger, which was very good and had a nice kick to it. I also had the Blueberry Crush cocktail, which is my new favorite thing! Another friend ordered the calamari fries, and although I never get near the stuff, she said they were not very flavorful and ended up ordering the sliders as well.
Valet parking for only $5 right underneath the building (with validation) was a welcome change for downtown. Another bonus: I expected the usual hassle of trying to figure out our portion of a humongous bill (at least 15 people ordered from the same waitress), but she was nice enough to provide separate bills for the three of us.
We came here for a b-day party. It was completely dead for the longest time. They have a large space and a great area upstairs with plenty of seating. The music randomly stopped for about 30 minutes and I'm assuming that they were having some tech difficulties. It was great that they had the TVs going so that you could at least watch the games in silence. The service was spotty. When we first arrived the waitress came around often...almost too often. By the time more people started showing up she started to ignore us. We would have to hunt her down and at one point we just went to the bar and waited forever to get noticed (and the bar wasn't crowded). Then we spotted her chatting it up with the bartender! I had to tap her on the shoulder and interrupt her convo so that she could give us the bill. The mixed drinks on the menu are way over priced and too sweet. I must have tried 3 different cocktails and they were all a bust!
If you are going to have a party with a large group then I recommend but beware of the service. The music is definitely a plus when the system is fully working. Bathrooms are decent and the overall ambiance is great. This place didn't get crowded until about midnight.
i guess i don't really know how to rate places where i'm not eating but their music choice was pretty unimpressive and thier service wasn't the fastest.
the decor was pretty bland, not to say that it wasn't nice but i didn't feel a sense of creativity to the whole enterprise. that being said westwood is sufficient for my needs right now
This is a typical Downtown LA lounge. Nothing different or special about this place. I definitely liked the decor but the venue was a bit small and got really crowd. Also, not sure what was going on with the AC and ventilation but it certainly wasn't working the night I was there. We left becuase it smelled so bad.
ugh this place pretty much blows. don't get drinks at the front bar..their service SUCKS SO BAD. we waited like 25 minutes for a bartender to even see us. the entire time they just kept on ignoring us. both bars even ran out of cognac which is ridiculous. we also ordered 3 crown/cokes..and one of the drinks had completely NO alcohol. it was so terrible. one of the bathrooms was clogged and overflowed everywhere. it was disgusting...nobody even tried to come and fix it.
this place really deserves 1 star..but i'm giving it 2 because i i had good company with me and i got in for free! don't come here if u have a large group and expect really really shitty service.
What a disappointment. I really thought this was going to be one of my new favorite places (I'm a sucker for mood lighting and a Spanish influence). I had a few little bites that were just ok. Nothing that I can even really remember. I had one margarita from the bar. ONE! This is only impressive b/c I normally knock back a few at any given location. But at Remedy it took forever to get a drink. I know, bars are always crazy and bartenders hustle their buts off!! But it wasn't just the length of time but also the manner that my friends and I were treated. We actually received attitude from who we assumed was the bar manager. Overall it was just an upsetting experience.
Great place for small groups. They even have board games for you to play with. I enjoyed that smile with my service.
This place is a new hang out place in downtown LA and it's very hip and trendy. I came here for Happy Hour today and had a very yummy burger plus sliders. There's also a nice VIP area for private birthday parties and other groups. The happy hour menu lasts all night long and the service is very good. Come try it if you haven't been yet!
I do not write many reviews, but I was really annoyed. My gf and I went to check it out the week before as we were choosing a place for her birthday and seemed like a good enough place. We contacted the event planner about reserving a section and it was about $400 for the space so we decided to just show up and take our chances. I emailed with the event planner the day of the party and she told us we should not have a problem getting in, but gave us the GM in charge in case there was an issue. Well as some of our friends showed up prior to us getting there, they said the lounge was closed for the weekend! I am still baffled on why the event person did not inform us of this. Very poor customer service and I will never go there again...and probably will never go to Provecho because it is owned by the same people.
tita: u still coming tonight?
me: not going to make it but have fun and thanks for inviting me
tita: best way to get over one is...under anotha
me: hmmmm...what time are you getting there?
so i met up with tita at remedy for her roommate's birthday. it was kind of a slow night there, but in some ways that was a plus: i found (free) street parking and the service was super-attentive. there was zero attitude from any of the staff, from the doorman to the bartenders to the wait staff, a pleasant surprise.
our lovely server julie recommended the blueberry mash, with blueberry stoli, lemonade, club soda, and real blueberries. it was very nice, though not too strong. i'd order it again on taste alone, but i had two glasses of macallan 12 after to fortify myself instead of sipping something i might have at a tea party. tita had the kobe sliders with sweet potato fries; she loved the sliders and i can attest to the hot, crispy goodness of the fries and the awesome aioli.
the wine list looked interesting, with a few choice wines from lebanon and france alongside california wines. the scotch selection was very nice, including macallan 12, balvenie 15, glenlivet 12, oban, and lagavulin (i'm thinking 12-14 on each of those but i'm a bit woozy at the moment), alongside highland park 12/18/25 and a few more i can't remember. i paid $15 a glass for macallan 12, a bit steep but not ridiculous for downtown.
the place is reminiscent of vegas, as natasha mentioned, but in a good way. there's plenty of loungey seating and low lighting for sexy ambiance. i'm thinking weeknight uye...
p.s. valet parking = $5 with validation
This is the worst lounge in Los Angeles by far, DO NOT COME HERE. The management sucks. I Djed here and they made the DJs pay for their own drinks and shut the DJs down at midnight and put an Ipod on because they said they didn't want the DJs and promoters to earn any more money at the bar. After the Ipod was put on at midnight, the Djs continued to buy drinks at the bar and so did the crowd that the DJs brought in. A friend of mine commented that Remedy wouldn't be in business in a few months because of the way they did business. This is definitely not a cool spot to hang out at.... A bad vibe for sure. The bartenders and security are cool, but the management is the worst I have ever encountered at any bar or club in my 12 years experience here in Los Angeles. After they put the Ipod on a bunch of people showed up and just walked out. Apparently, they didn't realize most of the alcohol at any club is sold between midnight and 2am. Lots of people showed up after midnight and just left due to the crappy Ipod music and bad vibes.
Don't come here for drinks or any event. The place is cursed by bad vibes and shady business practices. I would not recommend this venue to my worst enemy.
A cool place to stop by when bar hopping downtown, but it is no place to stay. The Remedy is pretty small place with a modern decor. Drinks are decent, but when Seven Grand is only a few blocks away why bother.
Great new lounge. Great specialty drinks. Pulled pork taquitos are amazing. Try the Sixty-Five drink, you'll be coming back for more!!!
Apparently this is the new hip spot in LA. I had never heard of this place before, but I came for my friend's birthday. I hate driving in downtown because of the stupid one-way streets, and I'm one of those people that gets super flustered when they don't know where they're going. But this place was actually pretty easy to find, and parking is valet in the structure below the building. The nice thing about this spot is there's no cover, and no line or wait, but it's SOOO damn tiny inside!!! The bar is in the center and there are tables around the edges. It's super hard to find anywhere to stand or sit, including getting a drink at the bar because it's so crowded. It also was stinkin hot, and someone had some nasty BO that I could have lived without ever smelling. It's kinda hard to come here and chill with friends because it's so crowded, plus the loud clubbing music makes it hard to have conversation. The music makes you want to dance, but there's no room to shake your booty, so all in all, I wasn't feeling this place. I didn't try any of the food that other yelpers are raving about, so maybe if I end up here again, I'll have to do that!
Went on Saturday night for the 1st time, I loved the decor in the place but was VERY disappointed with the service. I got there around 10:30 and is was very slow there were actually more people working there then drinking so you would think it would be great service however the servers were to busy talking among themselves to acknowledge customers. First we sat there for a good 5 min and nobody said anything to us so my boyfriend went up to the bar (with 3 people standing behind it) and it took a few minutes for one of them to finally ask if he wanted a drink. Then the final straw was when after we finished our drinks (still no one had said hello in passing) a cocktail server grabs our empty drinks in a hurry and walks away! Doesn't ask if we want more or even acknowledge we were sitting there. I go out at least 2 or 3 times a week and that was by far the worst customer service I have received in a long time. Too bad to because I really liked the environment.
Stopped by there late last night just to check it out, and of course it was pretty empty like the rest of downtown...but the place is beautiful, drinks were a bit expensive but they were tasty! and the decor is beautiful, reminds me of a Vegas "Ultra Lounge" ...I think this place has a LOT of potential!
DEF will be back for some NYE bar hopping :-)
went on a random night for a party. turned out it was really cool. slow as molasses at first then it picked up heavily. nice crowd and music was pretty good. food....um i'll pass, booze. vodka tonics are pretty standard. overall i would go back if someone had something there.
