Neighborhood: Medical CenterIts all shiny & new.... Came here for an MPI event and had the suite level to watch the Super Bowl. Great catering food as I am sometimes not impressed with the quality...but tonite's selection was good! Mini panini's, chopped salad station, crab/shrimp in martini glasses, pad thai station (that I have never quite seen), filet, nacho bar and of course some mini desserts. They set up lots of couches and big chairs for us to see the Giants win over the Patriots. Lots of drinks were drank....and the staff was very eager to make sure we were all taken care of. Kudos! I would def recommend the suites area for an off-premise event space.

Saw my Raiders get their asses handed to them here. That is the only reason I gave it four stars. The tailgating at Reliant sucks compared to Oakland but the stadium makes up for that.

A while back...we had tickets to a Neil Diamond concert - two tickets...that is...and a friend told us that the only other person he knew...who had tickets to Neil Diamond's concert...was his friend Steve.
We called Steve and asked if he wanted to go with us and we have to say that...no one gave a more "enthusiastic" response to an invitation!!! He belted out..."I Am...I Said! ...and Sweet Caroline - where it goes...'hands...touchin' hands...reaching' out...touchin' me...touchin' you!" Hello??? Steve...there's a third party here...get it?
We decided to join in with him and started singing..."Play Me and Cracklin' Rosie. Anything that builds...I love! "Cherry...Cherry... Holly...Holy." Ain't nothing "holy" about these songs...that's for sure. All of them sound very seductive...don't they??? Hmmm...??? (pause) Start your engines boys!!!
We realized...that we knew most of the songs on Steve's list...and we weren't ashamed to admit it...either! Okay...maybe...we did feel a little embarrassed about it though... Afterward...we called a few other friends we knew...to hear what they had to say about Neil Diamond?
"Oh! My Gosh!!!" A friend of ours said..."My black Buick with the top down. It was like... you know...easy...blasting it!!! It was secret driving music...the kind that would get your libido stirred up...and no one would be in the car...but me and Neil!"
Another friend said...that she and a girl friend would "buzz" around in her jeep years ago with...(get this...) three or four shoe-boxes of eight-track tapes...all of them...Neil Diamond. Okay...looks like...we are revealing our age here... Ughhh!!!! I'm having a mid-life crisis just thinking about it!!!
So anyway...fortified...we went with Steve and about twenty thousand other folks to the Neil Diamond Concert! Unfortunately...Steve was not only knowledgeable...but completely obsessive about Neil Diamond and was able to tell us everything about him! He drove us like...freakin' crazy!!!
On a less sensual note... Neil's speaking voice is low and gravelly. It was a comfort to hear him speak... It was strangely like listening to a radio. I know it's weird...I mean... you know...like...music goes on and people's lives go on. Anywhere there is a radio... folks have heard of Neil Diamond. You can't get away from it. Everybody has a different story about Neil Diamond. Their own experience about him.
If the truth be told...there has been many a couple...who have conceived...at least one of their children...listening to this "burlesque" of a man.

I'm afraid my Native Texan card will be revoked. I've never attended the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. I understand the Reliant Stadium puts on one heck of a show.
I have been able to see some other family friendly fare there though. We've attended 3 Disney On Ice shows at the stadium and the Ringling Brothers Circus here with small groups of children and they were always pleased with the set up - no matter where our seats were located. The set up and execution is well done inside the stadium.
What needs some work is the parking situation.
Every time I have been to the stadium, parking has been a huge hassle. They're usually running more than one special event at a time and the lots are full or being utilized for something else. In addition, no matter where I've parked, I've had to drag kids a long way just to get to the will call window to pick up our tickets. It's like herding cats through a mine field getting through that parking lot with little ones!
I haven't been for a sporting event but I understand it is exceptional. The stadium is pretty and seems ready for anything. Anything, that is, but easy access parking.
If you're going prepare to have fun and wear comfortable shoes.

Texans might not be great, but this stadium is new, and shiny and nice!! The tailgating is pretty cool too.
I went to the first event here ever, a preseason game between the Texans and the Miami Dolphins. We had club seats and let's just say, I felt like I should have taken off my shoes before coming in. This place is absolutely gorgeous!!! Carpeting? In a football stadium?!!? OK, that was a little weird. But, this place is the most immaculate and impressive stadium I've ever been to. The sighlines are great, the ammenities are over the top, the retractable roof is very impressive and just about everything else about the place is first rate for going to a game or the rodeo.
Now, if only they could find a decent team to play there, this place would be known for something other than the site of Janet Jackson's rather unfortunate "Wardrobe Malfunction."
saw some shows here during the houston livestock show and rodeo, and the best part was the revolving stage. it constantly rotates so that the entire audience gets a chance to see the band/act or whatever from different angles. the lyrics are also constantly running across a ticker at either end of the stadium, so it's easy to sing along or figure out what the singer is saying when he's talking to the crowd. it's a huge arena, and you'll have a great time no matter where your seats are.
