Came to know about Rejouvence through my coworker and wanted to check it out.  Also wanted to make use of their spa weekly offers for facial.  There was a confusion with my appointment where in I had gone on a day assuming it was my appointment but in actual its 3 weeks after.  The staffs were very understanding and willing to accommodate me.

The person appointed for my facial is really skillful and knowledgeable.  She determined what my skin needs and worked on it well.  None of those typical facial procedure but a lot of massage with lotions.  For sure will visit this center again.  Also its on Burlingame Ave - great place to walk around =)

I"m on the fence with this place.

First it was hard to find as it was tucked away in the back of a mall. The bathroom was around the corner, and there was only one person working there (my massage therapist) that afternoon.

Nonetheless I looked forward to it because I had purchased a Groupon for a one-hour massage.

Her strokes were good and it relieved a few of my tensed spots, especially on the neck and shoulders so five stars for that.

However, she told me the massage was only going to be 50 minutes. Wait...Groupon says 1-hour. You can't advertise like that because people like me will never come back for being treated like a second-hand customer due to Groupon.

I am sorry but I don't like places like that. If you want to advertise on Groupon then stick with your word. Because isn't the point of Groupon to attract customer loyalty? Certainly you don't have mine.

I received a http://spafinder.com gift certificate and so on  their spa discount week, my sister and i booked for a facial and a massage here since Rejouvence was the only spa near South City that was not in San Francisco (my sis shudders at the thought of driving there!).

I felt that the masseuse was either tired or really light handed even though i've told her that i preferred hard pressure for the combination massage. And AFTER i've filled out the form and was getting ready for my massage, i was then informed that the massage was going to be only 50 minutes (even though their ad said a whole hour).

It could be because i informed them that i was going to use a gift certificate to pay for their services, but even so, if they want clients to patronize their establishment, they should put a bit more effort to deliver what their ads say they could deliver.

Ohhh, how I absolutely love spa days with my sister and cousin! We try to have one each month and this time we went with Rejouvence. It just opened back in March and is located in a little shopping plaza on Burlingame Ave. As many times as I've been here, I have never stepped a foot in this little plaza. It's a good location amidst a bunch of restaurants and shops, yet tucked away from the traffic of it all.

It's a pretty quaint spa, maybe about 3 rooms max. You walk in to the lobby area and are brought to a little waiting room behind the front desk to sign the standard questionnaire. There's no changing room and locker area for your belongings. Instead you change in the room where your first service takes place.

First up was my facial with Shannon. She actually went through my questionnaire and discussed the work she'd be doing on my face. Then left me to change into a tube top terry cloth dress. The facial went quite well. She explained each product she was using and why it was needed for my skin type. I appreciated that, cause a lot of facials I've had I felt they were just spreading lotion on my face til my time was up! What I loved about Shannon was in the end she recommended products they sold- which were pretty pricey. But also recommended other, cheaper over the counter products that work just as well. That's a first for me! When she was done, she offered me water and time to relax before my massage. She then brought me to the waiting room and advised me my stuff would be brought to my massage room.

I didn't have to wait long before my masseuse, Amy, came to get me. She explained my massage would be a combo of Swedish, Deep Tissue and Hot Stone. Amy had me in pain during the deep tissue massage, but I just knuckled up, knowing I would appreciate it all later. The Hot Stone technique was different from what I've experienced at other places. Other places they place the hot stones on tense parts of your back, usually the lower or mid-back, while moving onto other parts to be massaged. But here she massaged my whole back with what felt like just her hands while they were hot, which I liked better. The massage was still a good one and she stayed consistent with medium pressure. I believe I dozed off and snored a time or two or three! But on my behalf, I was running on about 3 hours sleep!

The place lacks the serene ambiance that most spas should provide, but they make up for it with a quality facial- that didn't charge extra for extractions like other places and a good massage. The end results was my face was glowing and felt much softer and smoother, my neck and back free of knots and tension! I'd go here again if I wasn't needing all the fancy-shmancy ammenities most spas provide for a pretty penny!

    I love this place!

Moderately priced skincare and it is extremely easy to get to!  After my microdermabrasion facials with Shannon, my face always feels amazingly smooth and my skin glows for weeks afterward.

Shannon is knowledgeable, friendly, and wont try to talk you into buying a bunch of products you don't need.    I've seen her twice now, and I will continue to return since I receive so many compliments on my skin tone.

If you book with Shannon, ask for the pumpkin facial!  It smells amazing and your face will feel silky smooth afterwards!

I just visited Rejouvence this past weekend with Ma for a couple early spa week treatments (they booked up quickly and extended the dates, YAY!)  We both had the microdermabrasion and I also got the hot stone massage.

    Me likey:
-Veronica, my esthetician, seems like one of those people who likes her job (argh, screw you happy people!!!)  Personality, or lack of, severely alters a spa experience.  God bless the people who aren't afraid to get all in your nitty-gritty and renew your pores, muscles or hairlines, she is one of them and I am grateful.
-Spa week prices are great, but their normal prices aren't bad either.  I was easily sold on returning for 3 $60 microderm appointments (normally priced $120).
    -Location!  Parking!  Location!
-Sonya Dakar products, I've never used before but ended up taking one home, along with HUGE samples.  Samples are always good.

    Me no likey:
-Since the spa is located in a retail suite, the restroom is outside.  Not too far but you have to leave the spa and walk around a corner.  Call me picky, I don't care.
-Even with the new age music, I could hear a lot of the happenings outside.  Motorcycles, people yelling, dogs barking, etc.  Not loud enough to ruin my time, but that is something I'm always sensitive to.  *Note: I was there at 1pm on Saturday, optimal noise factor.

Overall, solid 4 stars.  Go check it out while they're having great specials, spaweek ends soon.

I came here a while back because again, thanks to Groupon I learned of another amazing place at a great price!

I had my first microdermabrasion facial for $50, but they also offer this price during their spa weeks, which is awesome :D  Veronica was really friendly which was a huge determining factor for me because not only did she do such a great job, she made me feel comfortable through the whole procedure.  My face felt soooo soft and nice afterwards I couldn't stop touching it haha.  My skin hasn't felt that great in a long time.

I would go again, but it's all the way on the other side of the bay and I don't really want to drive so far away :/  But for those of you who live in the area, I really recommend this place!!

I had a wonderfully relaxing facial here and bought some AMAZING sunblock. I have a lot of trouble with sunblock on my face - the scents irritate my eyes, and it often runs because I sweat. They sold me some pretty amazing stuff, and my problems are gone (skin saved).

I had a hydrating facial because I was getting over a cold (they were so nice about that). I left feeling so much better and healthier, and my skin was so soft.

I had my massage by Lovelyn, she's awesome! the pressure was just perfect, and she really tends to your body the way that you wanted her to. I've been to many spas and massages, and I think that she's one of the best. If you come here for massages, definitely book it with her.

Love this place! Veronica is great making you feel very comfortable and relaxed. I had very bad skin due to stress in my life and also had pretty bad pigmentation above my lip. Veronica's suggestion to start Microdermabrasion treatments saved the day!  Although I have not been in for a couple months I have been able to maintain with the  Sonya Dakar skin care line! I would highly recommend making an appointment once you do you will be hooked!  The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is the restrooms in the building are outside around the corner. Just make sure you use the restroom before your service and you will be one happy client!

i came here in april during spa week, since it was the closest spa from south bay. my friend and i both got the microdermabrasion and the hot stone massage for the first time. these are both priced at $100 or so plus, but $50 during spa week.

first, its in a 2 story plaza, right next to the parking lot which is a plus. its on the second floor, and its really nice, with a little area where you can wait while eating some almonds and dried cranberries.

i got the hot stone massage first, and i wasn't very impressed. i think im more of a deep tissue/swedish massage kinda gal. but for $50 during spa week, it wasn't a waste.

then i got my facial. i didn't particularly enjoy it, i think teh esthetician i got wasn't very professional. she kept using the word, "stuff" and the microdermabrasian, i didn't know what to expect, so it hurt a bit, and i had those internal red marks all over my face, particularly on the sides, that lasted a good few days. my friend however, got shannon, who she loved, and bought a package of 3 for $180. i wasn't offered one, so asked if i could buy a package too.

the next time i went, i got veronica, who was great. she said she had a feeling i didnt leave very pleased, and was very gentle, and has a soothing touch. i thoroughly enjoyed my facial much more this time, but i ended up buying 2 products i havent used 3 months later. im the type of person that feels inclined i have to buy a product after a testing/appointment, and have a hard time saying no. in hindsight, i got 20% off since our birthdays had passed, and veronica said we could still use it.

i had veronica the 2nd time, and again, my experience was great. yesterday, i did my last 3rd microderm, and i got a new person, i cant remember her name, as it was a unique name. starts with a S, and she was very lively and super nice. she gave a killer neck massage.  the only thing i disliked was the microderm hurt badly this time! n again, i got the red marks all over the side of my face, but maybe my skin is too sensitive? i didnt seem to have a problem with veronica though.

a great little place that i wish i could go to more often, but its just a bit far from my house. i would definitley recommend checking it out if you live near the area, especially because i cant get enough of the cute little downtown area!

I made an appointment because of spa week. I got the microderm abrasion facial, and my face feels fantastic. My esthetician was friendly and explained the entire process to me. She didn't make me feel foolish when I asked simple questions. The spa is hidden on the second floor of a shopping center, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It is not the most esthetically appealing place, but it is OK. The service was wonderful and I will definitely be back. I would recommend maybe soothing music or a noice canceling machine because I could hear the background noise (traffic, people talking), but that may be because I was in a facial room instead of a massage room. I will update when I have my massage next week.  P.S., they let you leave tip on credit card - which saved me since I only had $2 cash on hand...

My husband and I decided to give Rejouvance a try given the $50 specials during spa week.  We live within a couple of blocks from here and we never even knew the spa was there.  It's actually located above the children's clothing store in the complex on the corner of Burlingame Ave and Primrose so I was really, really hoping this spa would be great so we could go here instead of driving up to SF or Palo Alto for our massages.

Unfortunately, the massage was just ok.  If I had paid full price for this massage, I would have definitely left feeling disappointed and a bit peeved that I just paid $100 for a massage that left me wondering.  My therapist was certainly nice, but the pressure of my massage was weak, despite putting on my intake form that I prefer deep tissue and firm pressure and having a conversation with her prior to my service about preferring deep and firm pressure.  I was thinking that perhaps the spa week special limited the type of massage or pressure, but I distinctly remember reading this massage would be customized to our needs (swedish, deep tissue, etc.)

There were hot stones used during my massage which were great.  Unfortunately, when the therapist put the hot stones in the middle of my back while she worked on my legs, the stones were scalding and the sheets on top of me did not provide enough protection from the heat.  I'm not one to speak out during my massage (I think I honestly wonder maybe it'll be over soon) but in hindsight, I should have said something (like, "my back is burning!!")  Warm, wet towels were also put on my back (again nice), but my therapist then put the top sheet and blanket over the wet towel to press down and massage my back, which left the top sheet wet and cold after the towel was removed.  Not a great feeling when you've got 20 mins left of your service and a cold clammy sheet on top of you.  (On the bright side, my therapist gave a great face massage, which made me wonder if this gal was used to and specialized in giving facials versus massages...)

Location was cuter than I imagined since I've never known this place was up here, but perhaps because I was located right outside the waiting room, I could hear more noises than usual.  There was definitely laundry going on and water being run when I was getting massaged and again, if it were not for the $50 special, I would have left unrelaxed and annoyed.

That said, $50 is $50 and I think I'd rather spend more dollars to get a customized, relaxing massage.  I'm on the fence with Rejouvance - I may give it another go if there's another spa week special, but not sure I'm ready to pay full price.

    Update on post treatment:

Veronica, the spa manager, called me on Tues morning to check on the status of scratch marks. She offered to give me a treatment to calm down my skin and refund. She stayed back after hours to give me a cucumber mask with ultrasound to boost hydration. She thoroughly went over what to expect after microdermabrasion and post care which I didn't get from the esthetician who worked on my face last Sat.

I'm impressed with her follow up and she is very caring about her clients for satisfaction. I definitely recommend the place and having Veronica is a huge plus!

I had one of the most amazing facials here with Veronica. I used to get facials religiously for 7 years until my estetician retired. I was never able to find someone that was as thorough as her until Veronica. I had the fitness facial and I also love that they use Sonya Dakar, an amazing high end line. My face was radiant for days, and my makeup went on super smooth.

My husband and I went here on spa week deal. So this really is 2 reviews in one.

We went on different days, with different Facial-ists, and similar satisfaction.

Both our faces were glowing, skin felt clean and polished, and we felt relaxed. The folks here are great! Products used are top-notch. I think, my husband was tricked in to buying a Sonya Dakar product.. because of some break out he has on his forehead. Now, I am using it at home ;-) for mild breakout on my cheeks and could not have been happier with it.

I was disappointed they did not sell a package deal ( you know come 3 times for a discounted rate or something like that).. I would have totally bought it.

I agree this is not a fancy-schmancy place.. but hey!!.. I live and work in a fancy place and it is ok for me to not have my spa as a fancy place..as long as my face looks fancy .. its all good:0

I try to get facials on a monthly basis to keep my acne-prone skin at bay, which can get pricey.  So when I get a Groupon or Living Social deal to try out a new place, I'll give it a shot.  If they're good, I don't mind going back regularly and paying full price.  I had a very poor experience here and will not be coming back.  I'd have to say this was the most lackluster facial I've had.  The lady, although very nice, was clearly not an aesthetician.  She had no finesse when massaging my face.  I felt like she simply slathered product on my skin in the same manner a 5 year old would and hardly did any extractions as if she was afraid to. There was a moment when she left the room without a word and was gone for what felt like nearly 10 minutes and as I was getting up to leave, thinking my facial was over, she came back in to tell me she was letting the mask dry. It would have been nice if she told me that before she left the room.  A truly disappointing experience and money wasted.

I was there for their spa week special and got myself a hot stone massage!  I had Veronica and she's awesome.  She was on the phone when I first walked in, and someone else immediately helped me so I didn't wait at all.  I filled out the form and immediately, I was escorted into one of the massage rooms.  We chatted up or I initiated the conversation and like the first Yelper said, she seemed to really enjoyed her job very much.

Overall the staff is very friendly and courteous.  She also reminded me to drink lot sof water for the enxt few days because of the hot stone and oil massage.  Also their regular prices aren't too bad either that I will definitely go back with my friends!!

I do agree the noise from the outside can be a bit distracting but it didn't bother me as much.
