Had some downtime from the convention I was attending, so my co-worker from D.C. suggested this. We only had an hour before closing, so we headed straight to the third floor as the girl at the front desk suggested.

That floor covered a wide spectrum of African-Americans who made their contributions to the state, with a special emphasis on how they shaped Baltimore. The exhibits were all interactive, using different mixed media to tell the various stories from slavery to civil rights to present day.

Many glass cases were missing their artifacts, and we assume that the newness of the museum had something to do with that. Still, it didn't detract from our experience--there was plenty there to learn and absorb. Very well done, plenty of compelling stories that would interest adults and kids.
