I recently renovated my front and back yard, so I needed a large selection of plants for full sun and shade area. I had a guy working there greeted me as soon as I entered the nursery. He was extremely helpful and patient with me. He was very knowledgeable about the plants I picked out. He suggested a lot of plants that are suitable for my yards. He also slips in the fact that he works on the side as a planter.
Most of the gallon plants are priced at $8.99. I bought a dwarf lemon tree for $40. Lowe's have the same size and type of tree for $25, but you certainly don't get the same service and knowledge.
It is hard to find someone to help you in the nursery, because it is very big. But when you manage to hunt down one of the worker, he/she is very helpful and nice.
They are famous nationwide for their rose selection. I know you can buy their roses via mail nationwide. I am not a big fan of roses, so I have no experience with their roses. I know they are having 50% off in the roses right now.
They have a decent selection of Japanese Dwarf Maples. The one we picked and planted a week ago is already sprouting leaves and seems very healthy and happy. The dwarf citrus trees I bought from them three years ago are finally blooming. Finding help was a little difficult, because it's such a big space. But if you know what you want, there's a good selection here.

We've purchased a fair amount of stuff from Regan's, but I decided to take the time to write this review because of one incident. We'd bought 12 shrubs (I forget the name of the variety but it had to be this kind to match the others in our front yard). One of the shrubs died within a few months. I took the dead shrub in to them and they immediately gave me another one. That's with no receipt, so they could have tried to weasel out of it.
Their prices are a little higher than some of the big box stores (you know who they are), but Regan's knows their stuff. We'll be buying from them again.

I haven't actually bought from here yet, so I can't give 5 stars, but a visit to this place had me motivated to clean and landscape my yard (now, if I'm actually gonna go through with it is another story :P :P) From the outside this place doesn't look so big, but when you go in, you will be pleasantly suprised at the selection they have. A lot of roses and citrus trees, among other plants and flowers. If you go on a nice, sunny (but not too hot) day, you will feel relaxed and happy just looking at the pretty greens and flowers.
Ok, they have one of the largest or maybe the largest
selection of roses in the Bay Area. What bites though
is that the roses I bought already had black spot. A
little something I only noticed after unfurling the
mass tangling of climbing roses I bought from this
place. You see, each one comes in this bundle, wound
together. There's no way for me to see this when I was
at the nursery.
Moreover, we were sold Sterling Silver roses by the
nursery person, after we told her we were absolute
beginners with roses and needed all the help and
advice we could get. After researching on the
Internet, I found that this variety has a notoriously
picky track record and that most nurseries are
actually staying away from selling these because of
the bad track record. How disappointing that our
salesperson decided not to tell us about this!
We bought $850 worth of plants from this place, as
we're very disappointed at the lack of decent service.
I called the day after asking about tips on how to get
started pruning my espaliered trees and all the
salesperson could tell me is that it's very hard to
explain over the phone. I should just come over and
buy a book. Since I live in San Francisco and they're
in Fremont, this is easier said than done. I wasn't
looking to become a pruning expert over the phone,
just some basics.
I called Roger Reynolds Nursery in Menlo Park and this
place took their time explaining the basics to me.
Considering I didn't even buy my tree from them, (it's
a huge shame I didn't) they've been great.
Stay away from Regan's, I feel CHEATED!
