Very cool stop for tourists and locals alike. They offer free tasting of any of their fine ambrosia.  I haven't made it to one of their tours but plan to the next time I can.  Plus for encouraging recycling by offering a discount on your next bottle if you bring in your old one.  Reasonable prices.  Also makes for a unique gift.

Redstone Meadery makes mead - a honey wine - which is the oldest form of alcohol out there. As our tour guide pointed out, mead makes a comeback about every 3,000 years.

They have tours every Saturday at 12:30 and at 1 pm and 3 pm Monday through Friday. You get to taste all of their meads for free except their special reserves, which are $3 a glass.

I picked up the boysenberry mead as a hostess present.

Redstone is a local treasure. Not only do they produce high quality meads--as Rachel Ray would say, Yum-O--but they're quirky and support local businesses.

And if you want to talk about personality, just spend a little time at the actual meadery. They are very cool, conscientious folks, and they are very dedicated to promoting mead.

Redstone meadery produces some tasty meads, I particularly enjoy the ones with berry essence.  The tour here is a fun rainy day activity (I took the tour of Celestial Seasonings the same day.)  It is short, informative, and ends in the tasting room.
