Redstone has never failed to deliver great food, atmosphere and service. There's typically a wait, so definitely call ahead, even during the day. I'd highly recommend it whether dining with a loved one, having lunch with girlfriends or entertaining a client.

The meatloaf lunch / dinner is back on the menu and is not to be missed if you're into comfort food. The cornbread is amazing and great to share with your table and if you can manage to fit in dessert, the chocolate chip cookie dessert is to die for. I don't usually go in for the cookie desserts because usually the cookie isn't fresh, the ice-cream is sub-par, etc. but NOT in this case. The giant cookie is cooked to order in an iron skillet. The ice cream is Haagen Daz vanilla and the caramel & fudge sauce are homeade - as is the fresh whipped cream. In case that's not quite enough, the dessert is sprinkled with candied pecans, making the dessert a melty, sensuous pan of decadent goodness. Definitely made for sharing.

I never would have tried this had it not been for one of the fantastic servers I've had at the Minnetonka location. Paired with their fresh, black coffee, it's a treat not to be missed!

I usually in Minneapolis once a year for a conference and our group always seems to choose Redstone for dinner. Their food is good and this location is a short drive from the hotel we've stay at near I-394 and Hwy 169, so that's why we go every year.

We typically start with their Lodge Cornbread as an appetizer. It has bits of corn and green chili in it and comes with maple butter. Your server brings it to your table in a small round skillet, cuts it into six pieces, and plates it up for you.

Last time I was there I ordered the Jerk Chicken Flatbread (special menu for the night) which had a peanut sauce drizzled over it. Their flatbread is thinner than thin crust pizza, so keep that in mind. Pretty good overall.

Another time I had Rotisserie Chicken with asparagus and mashed potatoes... also very good. Price point for typical entrees is roughly around $18 to $25 with steaks around $35.

Wait time has been anywhere from 20 minutes to 1 hour each time I've been there. Service is good. The restaurant is quite dim during dinner, which makes it hard to read the menu sometimes. But overall, Redstone has good food and a nice ambiance for dinner.

Big portions, great food, wonderful service.

Stopped by with my team for a work dinner. The place sort of reminded me of restaurants in the casinos in Vegas. It's dimly lit, music in the background, and a few TV screens across the room. The food is very good. We had the Chicken Fondue for an appetizer, which was very good.

I had the rib and chicken combo. The portion is huge and the ribs are amazing. It melts right off of the bone and I thoroughly enjoyed the taste. I highly recommend this dish. Great place to go if you're hungry. Also, a wide selection of beer.

The service was wonderful. You could tell it'd be great as soon as you walked in, because the hostesses were very nice.

The bathroom was very clean, meaning that the kitchen is clean as well!

What is it about this place that bugs me so much? Is it the fact that everyone in the place, staff and all seem to think their shit doesn't stink? Possibly. I am not sure, but I am just not a fan! Don't get me wrong, it's not the food.  The food is actually quite good, that is what got it 3 stars. But everything else about this place screams, I need attention! It seems like the perfect place for young women to find a sugar daddy!
We've been here several times, only because we have a relative that insists on giving us gift cards for the place every single Christmas. Who is going to turn down free food? Not me. So we go back once a year and I am reminded how good the food is, and how douchey the restaurant is.

Have gone to Redstone in Minnetonka many times over the years, and it just seems to have lost a step.  Salad was just alright yesterday.  Happy hour glass of wine house cab was $9!  Asked the bartender and she said the regular price was $11.  Other spots have just as good or better food, but for much less money.  Used to like the atmosphere in Redstone, but the last couple times they've had really lame 70s and 80s music playing and the place is empty.

Change the music, get some real specials, and get the super friendly staff back!

This place is crazy busy. We had a reservation for 5 and they put us in a very cramped booth, so not impressed with their table management.  The food was very good, but trying to eat your dinner with your elbows pressed to your side ruins the enjoyment.
Too busy for their own good.

Tip: Ensure you request a table when making your reservation!

This place was AMAZING!! Pricey.. but amazing!! I went here for a company dinner and our server, who vaguely reminded me of Janice Dickenson, suggested their Buffalo Shrimp..YUM!!! As an entree I got one of their dinner specials, I can't remember the exact name.. but it was two medallions of Filet, with jumbo lump crab with bernaise(sp?) sauce and garlic mashed potatoes.. deelish!

I love eating here when I come back to Minnesota to visit!

I just stopped in this past weekend to have dinner with a friend.  The entire menu is fantastic but I highly recommend the Jerk Chicken Fondue (A-MAZING!) and the Kobe Beef Burger.  Best burger outside of Matt's in the Twin Cities.

Great date place if you are into that kind of thing and an awesome place to spend a cold Minnesota winter night.  Full bar with a large selection of beer and wines.

The nightly specials are also very good.

Here's the reality: I have never had a poor experience at Redstone.  While the food is often a bit more expensive than my personal tastes, I love meeting up w/ my family here (Mom lives in Eden Prairie and Dad lives in Minnetonka, so it works well w/ the Redstone Circuit).

The brunch is amazing...that caramel roll served to the table blows me away every time.

The portion sizes never leave me hungry, and they do the basics well: burgers and salads are excellent.

I appreciate the decor: ideal ambiance w/ the lighting, interesting artwork, and blazing fireplaces.  The service is typically superb, and the place is always hopping w/ a great buzz.

Happy Hour Specials until 6 PM: $2 off any drinks. $5 Original Flatbread, spinach artichoke dip, mini burgers (these are the three I remember).  Their HH is not advertised anywhere on their website.

I recommend their Stoli Doli drink and the Redstone burger.  In the winter this place gets very busy starting at 5 PM but in the summer you can usually get a table right away.

Complimentary mimosa and carmel roll? I'm in!

They have this great concept of a buffet but  they bring it to your table. No standing in line for food that's been sitting over burners.  This is a  bottomless plate of scrambled eggs, bacon, hashbrown and toast with homemade strawberry jam.   My personal favorite is the crab benedict or salmon omlet.   Oh , and the hashbrowns are amazing!

I'll be totally honest -  have a love-hate relationship with this restaurant.

The Sunday Brunch is fantastic.  The entire menu is incredibly affordable, the food is always very nicely prepared and plated and frankly, its just delicious!  The caramel roll that comes out before the meal is always a pleasant surprise and a great starter.

However, the service here seems to be consistently bad.  The waitstaff is either absent and forgetful, or they boldly announce things like their hangover.  I personally place a high premium on service, so this can be agitating.

I will definitely continue to return, but with mixed expectations.

It's alright...I mean, the food is good, but it's a bit overpriced for what it is. & the service? Pretty slow. Personally, I'd skip & go over to Champs or something...even Bacio's. Although with Bacio's, it is kinda pricey for what it is too, but it totally and completely outnumbers what Red Stone is in a number of categories.

Met my mom for lunch at this Redstone yesterday. The place looks similar to our "usual" Redstone in Eden Prarire, but is missing the nice water fountain on the patio.  We actually opted to eat inside (yes, it was almost too warm to enjoy a meal outside).  We were greeted promptly by the hostess and the waiter came to the table almost immediately.

We each ordered ice teas and caeser salad with anchovies, along with a steak sandwich for her and an order of the buffalo shrimp app for me.  The salads were fine, but came with a huge mound of anchovies (seriously, who can eat a dozen anchovies with 5 leaves of romaine lettuce??) and a stale, chewy Parmesan cracker.  The steak sandwich was perfectly cooked and was a big hit. My shrimp were so smothered in buffalo sauce that  I could barely find the shrimp (plus they were swimming in close to a cup of blue cheese dressing).  My guess is the lunch chef has zero portion control and/or doesn't have a clue.  We each had a coffee after lunch-although it took the waiter a few trips to the table to remember that I had ordered an espresso.

The best part of the meal was overhearing the waiter ask the "ladies" and the neighboring table how they were doing...and then realizing that there was only one lady at the table and that her dining partner was a man with a flowing mullet!

I brought 15 guests here on a recent occasion. I had called to ask them to hold tables for us and we were promised that if we arrived within 15 min (we did) we'd be seated quickly. "Quickly" according to their hostess was nearly an hour...

I will go back when and if someone can confirm that my definition of both "reservation" and "quickly" equals their definition of both words.

    YMMV...

Service and food are just ok....it was kind of slow both times we went, once for lunch and once for apps/drinks. the waiter we had for lunch was a know it all, even though he didn't know everything. when i needed things to be gluten free he was not all that helpful. i also asked him what type of fish barramundi was since it was the fish of the day and his sarcastic reply was "barramundi". no S***! for apps we had the flatbread, ahi tuna, and artichoke dip. the artichoke dip was overdone and had very little flavor. the ahi tuna - good grade of tuna but again no flavor. for the price - i would not go back.

Good but expensive menu. Several strong options.

In the evenings this restaurant / bar becomes a hotbed for 'cougar' action -- it's common to see 'em gathering in numbers & digging for gold.

    Brunch is outstanding.

Good tap beer selection, strong bartenders -- which makes the long table wait tolerable.

Busiest in the fall and winter months.

Normally this place scares me - it's where 50 year old men go to pick up 30 year old women. The food is good but I try to avoid eating dinner here because I'm still a little too young for this particular meat market.

That being said, it gets four stars just for the brunch. YUM! The eggs are awesome, the hashbrowns must be horrible for you but whatever they mix into them is delicious, the fresh fruit is always tasty, and they usually give me a to-go box for my "all you can eat" brunch - how much better can it get? I'd give it five stars but the mimosas have gotten progressively smaller in the three years I've lived nearby.

    Overall: 8/10
    Food Quality: 8/10
    Food Quantity: 8/10
    Food Flavors: 7/10
    Service: 7/10

This is another in the long line of places with the same type of decor, style, ambiance, etc as: The Keg, Flemmings, Firebirds, etc (the mid-high to high-end steakhouse types) & does a good job of being a solid contender.

    I had...

    Ribs  (7/10)
They rave about them but they were nothing to go crazy over. I've had a lot better. Also, they use too much BBQ sauce IMO.

    Filet (9/10)
    - with a side of hollandaise sauce. I'm not a hollandaise sauce fan but the server said it was good... I disagree. It covers up the flavor of the steak, not compliments it... and the hollandaise sauce itself was average, at best, anyway. But the steak was cooked a perfect mid-rare and had nice, light, charing on the outside. It was a quality cut of meat, very tender, and flavorful.

Salmon flatbread - nightly special, not the one on the menu (7/10)
flavors were good, qty was nice... great starter.

Also had a few drinks. The cappuccino was WAY too hot to drink. I had them make me another - it was bad as far as cappuccino goes. Horrible foam (way to wet). They obviously don't make real espresso drinks and only have it as a must-have necessity.

This place is totally fine. I come to Minnetonka for work occasionally and we usually go here. I think they put crack in the cornbread, which is my favorite thing there. The salads are good although I feel like everywhere in the Twin Cities salads are ridiculously over-dressed. That is kind of my own fault for forgetting to ask for dressing on the side. The service is always great and as long as you stay in a booth far away from the bar there is no chance of cougar encounters. I would say it is recommended!

Great place to spot/catch a cougar. Love that it's dark and once the greeters recognize you as a regular it's easy to snag a quiet(er) table toward the back. The food is fine ... maybe a bit on the pricey side for what you get. I like the fondue and flatbread appetizers and these are great for happy hour or sharing with a friend/date. Unfortunately the cougars draw out a fair number of wankers (unfortunately a couple of the server dudes fall into this category as they are a bit overeager), so be prepared. Nonetheless, it's good people watching as guys/gals strut and you get to see who pairs off.

Stream of Consciousness Review for Redstone:  great brunch, divorced guys looking to score at night, wait staff out of central casting, overpriced dinners, fairly priced brunch, bizarre dancing/night club vibe at night, predictable wine selection, frustrating "reservation" process, cool decor, soulless, fun melt the ice game in men's room (although it looks like Minnetonka remodeled and it is gone), awesome buffalo shrimp, too light on the chicken in salads, pretty good seafood, great outdoor dining in Eden Prairie (unless you don't like looking over a pond at Fuddrucker's).

I have been here only once with some clients after a successful focus group.  We all had the ribs with french fries.  The ribs were some of the best that I have ever had.  Not the best but pretty close.  They were tender and bits of crunchy on the outside.  No gloppy sauce.  We had this with a bottle of Sebestiani cabernet sauvignon which went well with the ribs.

I had the bone-in New York steak which was great.  But I'm a steak lover and easily pleased.  The service was friendly and polite.  The only thing though is that they kept seating deuces and four tops before our party of five.  We ended up waiting over an hour to sit down.  We couldn't understand what the issue was and when we finally got seated, they put our party of five on a four-top with an extra chair!  It was a tight fit on that little table.  We looked around and noticed the larger booths were occupied by deuces....we thought why couldn't they sit us in the larger booths that could've accomodated our party??
